Beth, I happen to know that. Actually, Dave and I were supposed to see that castle................ but to make a very long story short it goes something like this.

My eldest DD was in Spain as a college student for a semester. Dave and I decided that this was a good excuse to see Europe and visit her. In our first week of visiting, while in London, Dave had a heart attack. So that goofed up all of our plans, and we never made it to the castle. They also have a mock boblsed ride near there that we were going to go on too.


So yes I knew about it, and that is why I wanted to see it.

This website that I found, www.castlesoftheworld.com, offers all these different castle tours. It's so cool. Maybe one day I'll be able to do something like that.

One of my winter screensavers is that castle covered in snow.

I could tell you a real scary story about popcorn. DS just quit his job at the local drive-in theater so he could go back to school. On the day before his last day, let's just say he found 2 of Mickey's cousins belly-up in the "butter" sauce. That's gonna save me calories at the movies for years to come.

I saw a pic of it with the snow. Not sure if it's the same one, but it was so pretty. Can you imagine living there?? I can't. I mean it's just so huge. I'd need a map to get around.

When I was in highschool I worked at the concession stand never again did I eat food at a game.

I also worked at a bowling alley and never again did I wear those shoes unless they sprayed them before I wore them. Where else in life can you wear shoes that 1,000,000 people before you have worn?

Ok--Beth: on the castle--if you ever get to see the Dream Suite, there is a mural of two castles on the wall of the living room--one is the one you identified and I don't remember where the second one is, but Sleeping Beauty Castle uses parts of both of them. I used to have a photo of it (I think) from my tour of the Dream Suite--I'll try to find it.

I wasn't dreamed either--but when the Dream Suite first opened DVC offered tours for DVC members and I got to see it then.

OOOOOH i went to Target and Halloween has exploded there! i was beyond tempted to get all sorts of stuff but i resisted the urge..for now. I have a trip to pay for after all..and its begins ...THIS FRIDAY!!!
I even started a trip report ( see link in siggiepimpin' myself..ya thats right )
I am OFF to read your last report again for some 5 DAY COUNT DOWN DL excitement!!!

UGH!! Why is it I pick the worst dates EVER when it comes to Disneyland trips????? I always seem to do this.

I just read on another thread today that in Utah they have something called the UEA (Utah Education Association) convention. It's basically a convention for teachers to attend, so the public schools in Utah are closed during that time.

Well, guess when the convention is???? October 16 and 17!! And I read that most of the families use that time as a chance to pack up and head to Disney for a nice long four day week-end. So many in fact, that it's also called UEA: Utah Escapes to Anaheim!!!
Add to that the fact that some AZ schools are on break during that week and you've pretty much got a recipe for disaster.

I've heard that the resorts are sold out! And with so many rides closed and Fantasmic down that will make it seem worse, since usually a good chunk of people will be watching the show and you can hit some rides then.

So I'm trying to convince myself NOT to freak out. I'm telling myself we'll be there from the 13th through the 19th, that's plenty of time to see and do everything we want to, even if it is HOT and CROWDED!! OK, calm down. Breathe.

I've been when it's crowded before. I can do this. I can read some of Hydroguys tips on how to tackle DL when it's PACKED and I can use Fast Pass, and RideMax and it will be fine. Right? Right???

The main thing is we'll be at Disney. (inhale)

I'll be with my family. (exhale)

We'll know ahead of time what to expect so we won't be caught off guard with hot weather and high crowds. (inhale)

The Halloween decorations will be up. (exhale)

Everything is going to be ok. (inhale)

There.....just keep repeating that. Don't panic. Think peaceful thoughts. (exhale) Ahhh, much better.

Well, our APs expire in October so Ruben has already said no more family trips until 2011 when the DCA remodel is complete. I'll be going back in March for the ladies trip, so this trip I'm all about making sure we do what the kids want to do.

Even if it's busy, we've got several days so I'm sure we'll be good.



What I'm more worried about is we are taking the minivan in tomorrow to finally get fixed. It started acting up on the way home from our June trip, but then just doing the little bit of driving we do around here, it's been ok.

I know it won't make it back to CA though so we have to get it looked at. I'm just scared to see how much it's going to cost!!

Wish us luck on the repair cost, because if it's too high, we might have to trim back on the trip a little. I may sound selfish but I really don't want to have to do that, so I'm hoping it's not too bad.
Unfortunately every time we take that dumb van in, it's always several hundred. I'm really dreading hearing the total tomorrow.

Good luck with the van. I hate car problems. I was engaged to a mechanic before I met DH (well, actually, until a little bit after I met DH). The only time I regret not having him around is when the car needs work.

I would love to have a mechanic in the family. We don't even know who to take the van to out here since we are relatively new to the area. So we are taking it to the dealer even though that will cost more.

I'm trying to stay positive about it, but I just know that from past history with this van it's NEVER cheap to fix. I hate cars and our dependence on them sometimes.
