"Amuck, amuck, amuck!" A Pre-TR (link to TR in the first post)

The reason we are moving the dates is because DH works every other weekend and the weekend he has off DD has a marching band review. I don't want to burn his vacation days for a weekend trip. I would rather save vacation days for other times like this time of year when they are cutting hours.
Oh, I see.
It's tough working with work schedules and school schedules.

So many thing could be said in response to this....

I'll be nice though.
 Nice??? Huh? I don't understand?

Talking about birthdays reminds me that Ruben and I were talking about this new promo they have for getting in free on your b-day, and how we really don't know anyone who goes on their actual birthday. :confused3

If you are an adult and you work on your birthday, then it's just too hard usually to make it. Even when it comes to having parties and stuff, we never celebrate on the actual day.

If one of the kids birthdays falls during the week, we'll wait until the weekend before or after to celebrate it. It was that way when I was growing too. I rarely had my party on my actual day so I just got used to that. I wonder if that's what Disney is hoping, LOL, that people won't be able to actually go on their b-day. :rotfl:

I hope everybody takes huge advantage of it. I am not a fan of marching band anyway, it is expensive and takes away from family time. Camping is out unless we take the kids out of school. No Disneyland on the weekend because the weekend DH has off is always the weekend of the band review. Ah well sorry for the vent.:guilty:

I am actually looking more forward to a weekend trip because we usually go during the week and off season so we miss out on so many things. Maybe this way I will get to see the parades and the fireworks and maybe even Fantasmic. That would be wonderful. And I could still pretend it's my birthday and get a birthday button.
That would be nice. Fantasmic is so GREAT! That alone would be worth it to me.

And I'd say go for it and get a button. :thumbsup2 Why not? I'm not one of those people who think it's an evil sin to get it when it's not your b-day. I just don't understand that thinking. If it's your b-day "trip" then that's all that matters. What harm will it do to anyone else to have a few nice Happy Birthday wishes thrown your way, kwim?

Of course that's just my opinion and we all know not everyone on the DIS feels the same so just be warned about that. :rolleyes1 ;)

No, don't be sorry. It is a pain in the you-know-what to deal with all those schedules.

I wouldn't expect you too.

I go, I go! I've spent most of mine at Disneyland! :cloud9:

The timing of my birthday is perfect, it falls on the three day weekend for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. My parents didn't have work and I would be between semesters! Yay for me!!!

We have done all 3 kids and even my Mom. This trip is for DH and I. We were originally planning to actually go on our birthdays.

I went on my birthday once. But it was while we were living in Orange. We just went for a few hours when my husband got off work. But that will probably be the last time because we never go to California in May.

That would be nice. Fantasmic is so GREAT! That alone would be worth it to me.

I'm going to Disneyland in January. But I'm going to get a birthday button anyway. The only time I went on my birthday was a few years ago and they didn't give out buttons. They just gave stickers. I want a button!

I will. It's been a whole day. Time to redo my sig anyway. ;)

And so you should have one!! :thumbsup2

I'm going to try and go to Michael's tonight. I'm hoping to get one of those houses for my village. We'll see how much they are. Money is super tight right now. It's coming up on trip time and we still haven't fixed the mini van.
I looked into rentals but they are so expensive, around $300. Darn things.
