What the heck happened to Erin?

She had beautiful pictures early on and very editorial, all of a sudden she just can't get it together and becomes catty and mean which effected her photos.

Nicole has turned her photos out wek after week and I just don't see anyone who is even close that has her editorial edge. I love Nicoles "geek chic".

I hope Laura works harder because I really like her personality. She also needs to work on her accent.

It's entirely possible. I like Nicole's pictures week after week but if she does just one bad one, she's probably out the door. It always seems to work that way.

Maybe. She did have the best commercial which is necessary for "top model".

I just looked through their pics and Nicole can just bang it out. Jenn is good and getting better. She really has to give good face to beat Nicole.

I think Tyra is holding out on Erin personally. I think she is her favorite instead of Jenn.

Jennifer is really really bad IMO. She hasn't taken a good picture yet. Her lazy eye is something that would never be taken in the modeling industry. Awkward personality? Ok. Badwalk? There are a few. Burn scars? If you are stunning and amazing, it could happen. Wonky eye? It would never fly. The problem is that she also doesn't know how to hide it. She did a profile shot this week, and I still got a lazy eye vibe! I would take Sundai over her at this point.

Out of all the beautiful petite Asian women out there, the only one Tyra liked for the petite cycle was one with an eye issue? I don't think anyone hiring models is going to be PC and hire her in spite of the eye issue...short PLUS eye = never going to be hired.

I think that Tyra picks these girls with issues (eyes, scars, etc) just to show that someone with issues can maybe be a model. She just doesn't pick girls that would be models, she picks girls that might could be models. I imagine she passes over quite a few that are really standouts.

I think you're right. I also think that Jennifer has been working around her eye problem enough that I stopped noticing it.

Because you (and we collectively) are nice and want to see the girls take good pictures. The people who hire models aren't going to be so nice. We've already heard them say during the go-sees of the various cycles things like "She's too short." I was reading an article in one of my D's magazines about a couple of African American models - they'll be told things like, "He isn't hiring any black models for this show." So I can totally imagine Jennifer showing up at a go-see and being told, "no, you have a funny eye" without even being given a chance to work around it.

This is totally off topic, but I wanted to share. The reason I started this thread is because I am very interested in the petite model world. DD has been trying to break into it for some time. She's done acting, but would really like to do print work. Most agencies have looked at her pictures and agreed that she takes good pictures, but won't even consider her because she is only 5'2". Finally, a couple of agencies have decided to sign her for modeling. She's already with a couple of agents for her acting. So, keep your fingers crossed that she gets some work in the future! She will never be a runway model, but, IMHO, would be great for print work.

She's a doll! My almost 14 year old would love to model - she's 5'4" right now but is still growing. She has freaky long legs (34" inseam). She still has two baby teeth and needs braces after she loses them, so any modeling career is years off!

True ... but I'm not sure that ANTM is really based on the REAL modeling business. Look at Jaslene (cycle 8) ... that girl couldn't act her way out of a paper bag! Yet, she was selected, as the winner, to be a SPOKESmodel. I literally cringed every time her commercial came on the air the next season. Or what about McKey (Cycle 11) ... she spoke out of the side of her mouth making it look lopsided. Again, she won even though she had something that would possibly be a turn-off to someone interviewing her face to face.

ANTM is just a show. The girls go on to very mediocre careers. Although YaYa is now on Ugly Betty. I was really surprised to see her there!

I was sad to see Sundai go home last night. I liked her personality. If they go with the pictures Nicole has this completely locked up. If they go for personality, I would love to see Laura win. She is the sweetest girl they have ever had on ANTM.

We watch Ugly Betty too and noticed Yaya. She's not the best actress...

I was sad to see Sundai go home too. Erin really should have gone after 3 weeks in a row of being in the bottom 2. Plus her personality really gets on my nerves.

As a whole, this is definitely the nicest bunch of finalists. Even Erin is rather benign compared to girls like Jade. Erin is just whiny and immature, but she isn't vile. I had expected that Nicole would grow annoying but she has instead become more likable and her photos are really very, very good. Laura and Sundai are adorable and very sweet. I was sad to see Sundai leave just because she was so stinking cute.

I think letting Sundai go was in the best interest of both ANTM and Sundai. Does anyone think Sundai would be able to ever have a Top Model career?

It will be hard enough for Nicole who is 5'7" and Laura who is 5'6" to push through especially landing runway jobs but it would be possible.

I really thought Erin was gone last night. But Sundai did basically do the same face over and over. It showed in the review of all her pictures.

I like Nicole. Her pictures are getting better and better. But she better watch out. It was a good wake up call when she did not get the best picture.

I think Erin could take great pictures. She's just lost it somewhere.

Huh? Nicole did win the challenge last night (which was the cliff diving pic.) Did you mean you thought she moved forward for the underwater pic (in panel)?
I was sad to see Sundai leave but there's no way she was going to have a modeling career at only 5'3".
