I am STILL in SHOCK! But, I have a feeling Tamyra is Getting that record Contract come Hell or High water! Randy and Paula will see to that! I HOPE to Heavens that Justin DOES NOT WIN this! I am voting for Kelly twice next week to be sure!

I can't believe Tamyra got voted off! I think Nikki definitely should have left...she's a good singer and performer, but, IMHO, her image is too "rock" for her to be an American Idol. Justin is a hottie and a good singer, but his ego has gotten way too huge. I'm rooting for Kelly now...but I can't complain about anything because I have yet to vote.

Kevin - Nikki and obvioulsy Tamyra were in the bottom two. Tamyra took the loss like the Class Act Simon says she is. She was very gracious and -- the difference between her and RJ last week -- professional in that she was able to sing following the loss. RJ was too upset last week to sing. I couldn't believe her composure.

I was as dumbfounded as Paula looked. You guys are talking about Randy and Paula making certain Tamyra will go on in this industry. There is no doubt in my mind that Simon will play a very large part in this too.

Prior to getting down to the serious business of voting someone off, the quartet did several of Paula's songs and even got her up on the stage for a little bit dancing. It was great fun watching that. Too bad the show ended the way it did.

I personally do not care for Nikki's voice at all, although I will say that she finally found songs that complemented it on Tuesday night.

I always thought Tamyra would take it although I personally favor Kelly. Now I don't know what to think......

I was shocked to see Tamyra voted off the show this week.
I feel that she truly has a better chance of "making it" in the music business than the remaining 3 contestants.

It is an interesting concept to let people call in their votes. I was under the assumption that a person could only vote one time per show. Am I wrong? If so than this is a flawed system.

The remaining 3, Nikki, Justin and Kelly will really have to kick it into high gear to feel that they have competed with the very best. They have 3 very different styles. To say that Nikki could not be an American Idol because she sings a bluesy rock type of music and not girl/boy band pop may not be looking at the total music field. (JMHO) However I do feel that Nikki has been relatively lucky to make it this far in the competition, she has had a few performances that were not up to the competitions quality.

Interesting night of tv.... let's see what happens in the next 2 weeks...

Wow. That was a complete shock. I can't tell you what I said to the TV after I found out because this is a family board. However, I know that Tamyra will go on to become a huge star, just like others have said. In fact, her getting booted off may even help her in the long run because she won't be labeled as the "American Idol." She will be able to spend more than 2 months in a studio working on an album. (The winner's album comes out in November.)

I have been rooting for Kelly all along, however, with Tamyra and Justin in 2nd place (tied.) Now I just hope that Nikki will get voted off next week (finally - even she looks like she is ready to go home) and the final two will come down to Kelly and Justin, with Kelly winning it all.

Woah. Unbelievable. I thought for sure she'd win. Of course, it was equally ridiculous that Christina left before Nikki, and ESPECIALLY R.J.

So how exactly is voting for your favorite considered dishonest? This isn't about the best singer. It's about who will be an "idol," who will sell the most records, concert tickets, and merchandise, who can move the audience. That's why it makes sense for the people to vote... unless they vote more than once; that's the only way i can see it's dishonest.

Actually, I have wanted Tamyra to win, but have been pretty sure that Justin will win since he is the only guy, and he'll get the votes of all the girls looking for a heart throb. Not that I blame them... I'd rather watch him any day, though I wouldn't be as likely to buy his CD. He has great stage presence (and drool factor). If he wouldn't have gotten so cocky, he'd be a lot more popular now. That was quite a turn-off.

I read that there is a speed dialing problem possibly skewing the voting. Next time they should use a 900 number for voting. Having to pay to vote each time would maybe prevent this problem.

I was just as shocked as the rest of you when I watched Tamyra get voted off. But you know what? Everything happens for a reason. To say that Tamyra will go far in the music business is a gross understatement. I truly believe she belongs right up there with Whitney Houston and Celine Dion. Being on AI has given Tamyra the exposure she needs to make it in that business without giving her that stigma of being the "American Idol". Soon enough, she'll have a CD out. Personally, I'll be one of the first in line to buy it.

I swere yesterday I heard a song by Christina on the raidio!! It really sounded like her voice (She has a very distinct voice)
I live in S fl (and so does she doesnt she?) So maybe the radio station played it since she is from this area. (And maybe Im wrong but it sure sounded like her!!)

I was absolutely, 100% shocked!
I like Nikki, but she lacks versatility. The Bacarach performance was just horrible. I was pretty sure that she was going home.
Justin drives me crazy! I wish that he would go home, but I'm not too optimistic. If he doesn't stop pointing and winking when he sings I'm going to throw-up.
I love Kelly's voice. Last night during the Paula Abdul set she was actually moving a little more, so maybe she can step it up for the rest of the competition and pull it out.
I thought for sure that Tamyra was the one. She wasn't my favorite, but I thought that she was the closest to being an all around crowd-pleaser. I think that "New Attitude" killed her. She reminds me alot of Whitney...she has some great pipes, but don't ever let her move onstage. She'll do well anyway. Someone (maybe Simon) will give her a contract and tell her to stand still.

I was totally appalled too! But, I agree that having the American Idol title is probably won't have a big impact on their future careers. The one(s) with the talent will succeed in the long run. I hope Kelli wins now since she's the only one left with some real talent imo, but now that we know how messed up the voting is, who knows what will happen. I think the fact that people can vote as many times as they want and it's a free call makes it really unfair. There's a rumor that people have created computer programs that can call and vote for one person thousands of times. And that those people are voting for Nikki for some reason. I feel sorry for the creators of the show (and the judges) since now it's become nothing but a joke. I'm embarrassed to be part of the American public right now! What on earth are people thinking???

From the very beginning I had Justin as #1 and Tamyra as #2. I was also shocked at the releasing of Tamyra and feel the whole process is a sham. Nikki has a cult following that has access to high speed phone/computer connections. I have read that each of these high speed connections is capable of logging upwards of 10,000 votes as compared to 200 via regular phone line. Up until last night the AI staff said that there was no favoritism on the parts of the "speed dialers" and they would be able to stop the ones who are doing it should the votes start to sway. Looks like they are too late. Oh well, my #1 is still going strong and I don't care what any of you Justin bashers have to say!

Okay. I have TOTALLY lost faith in this call in and vote system now...

There is absolutely NO explanation for Tamyra being gone and Nikki still being there. There is simply no contest.

Kelly and Tamyra have always been the most talented. Justin is close behind them. I figure HE'LL win, instead of Kelly, because of the teenie-bopper vote.

I was appauled at the results last night! I mean, I like Nikki, she has a great look and a nice voice. Her performance on Tuesday of Mary Jane was awesome. BUT....Tamyra is a HUGE talent. I figured the end would be Tamyra and Kelly, and man, was i looking forward to that "battle of the pipes"!!!!

Unfortunately, if things go the way they are looking, we might have to say goodbye to Kelly (my favorite) and listen to Justin and Nikki for the finals. I REALLY DO NOT LIKE JUSTIN. His voice is so plain and his image is not appealing to me. I think he could work Vegas. That is about it.
When the top ten started I put Kelly, Tamyra, Christina, Ryan, and RJ in the top 5. Those are just my opinions though. I look at image, voice, and potential to make it.

I am sad for Tamyra...even though she WILL be a star. But, I am more sad for those contestants (hint hint..Justin and Nikki) who might win and KNOW they don't deserve it. JMHO.

I was shocked to see Tamyra go, too. She has a wonderful voice! And I know we will see her again in the future, and I will be in line to get her first CD! Nikki, IMO, should have never even made the Top 10. She's a beautiful girl, but she just doesn't have the voice. Her last 2 performances, though, were her best in the competition. I am rooting for Kelly. She has a powerful voice, and like Randy said, she can make anything sound good. She just needs to learn to loosen up more onstage. I don't know why everyone is so down on Justin...yeah, he let his ego get a bit too big, and he may look like Sideshow Bob but the boy can SING!! His version of Get Here the other night was awesome. And he definitely has the stage presence.
