I am feeling a little under the weather so maybe that has clouded my opinion. I thought tonight was awful, it was just who was the most awful competition for me.

I thought Lil looked gorgeous and wasn't good but wasn't that bad either.
Kris, WTH was that??? Bizarre.
Danny, really dropping fast IMHO.
Allison, just no girl. She can sing and is one of my favorites but just no.
Adam he is my favorite but that didn't get me going tonight. He looked good enough to eat the vocals were on but the song choice was weird for him. I honestly didn't like it.
Matt, OMG that hat he needs off the show in the worst way. I wouldn't even go to the tour if I had free front row tickets if I had to listen to him. He gets on my very last nerve and that song and his performance was just lame.

Anoop was just horrific. By far the worst of the night IMHO. There are no words for how bad I thought that was.

My vote to go home are Matt and Anoop.

The whole show didn't work for me at all though so whoever goes as long as it is not adam or allison is fine with me.

I am the only one who does not get Adam. Sorry, I just don't get why everyone thinks he's so great! :confused3:mad:

After seeing the show a second time on a proper widescreen TV (instead of the live East Coast choppy feed), I liked Adams performance a lot better. My favorite version is still Yvonne Elliman, probably because I've heard it so often, but what I thought was great about Adam is how he makes me believe what he is singing. He's connecting with the lyrics and when you couple that with his superb delivery, spot-on intonation, adorable looks, and sweet, genuine personality it's impossible not to respond emotionally to the song. At least for me

I know from his brother's blog and from the fact that he's no longer involved with his former BF Cheeks (BTW, a very funny guy, if you ever get a chance to see him on Youtube), that he's felt the pain of unrequited love and I think he conveyed it very movingly.

I didn't think Danny was as bad as some fans (especially on other boards) make out and I don't think Kris was as good. I know the contestants are supposed to make the songs "their own" but I also feel the themes are given for a reason. Disco means you should be able to dance to it and if that's the theme, then the point should be to take any tune and turn it into a "disco" song. Otherwise this theme might as well be: "Songs by Disco Artists", and Anoop can just keep turning everything into a ballad.
For me, the most distracting thing about Danny tonight is his complete lack of rhythm when he's moving on stage. His clumsy dance moves were NEVER in time to what he was singing. It's like there's a disconnect between his vocals and his body movement. I think he'd be most comfortable in the Christian Music scene & that's probably the audience that's voting for him.

No, there's a post like this EVERY week. Everyone has a right to their own opinion.
Dialidol has everyone basically in the crapper. Looks like the producers will decide who to send home.

So, anybody else this the vote off tonight will have a "shocker"??popcorn:: I can sssooo see Allison getting voted off and the judges HORRIFIED! They used their save last week, so it's gone! We haven't had a "shocker" yet this season, bet it's this week or next....:happytv:

Unfortunately I think you're right.:sad2:

I did not think the show was that bad. I think they are very harsh on Lil and Anoop. Anoop has a great voice. Every week it gets better. Given the right material for all these singers they will do very well. I'm sure anyone of these people can out sing alot of original artisits. That theory has been proven by watching this show. If I had to say who should go home it would be Matt and Lil.

No, I definitely agree, that is what I'm afraid of. I really like Matt and was glad they saved him but I hope he goes home tonight (and his performance/song choice last night was just cheesy). But I think there is going to be a shocker too. :guilty:

Adam is always gracious and thanks the arranger or musicians. I suppose he tells the arranger what he'd like & the arranger helps. In that case, maybe the others should have had the same person, especially the ones who get berated every week for not being original. Either they have no vision or their arrangers don't care or help much.

I like Allison's voice but alot of times I can't understand the words, she kind of slurs. And every week the songs are starting to sound the same.

Now when the winner goes to make their first album, will they let them choose the songs they want, arrange them & sing them the way they want? :sad2: If Adam wins, they should let him have a big say in his choices, but with expert professional guidance. No, I didn't say when he wins because even if he comes in 2nd, he can still go on to have a great career.

Good morning all! Since the demise of my laptop a few days ago, I was unable to post my show thoughts while watching last night...I know, I know...HOW could I disappoint you all by not tossing out my allimportant two cents? Will you ever forgive me?

That said...Here's what I thought about Disco night:

LIL: I'm Every Woman. I had to agree with Kara of all people. Lil HAS been every woman other than herself up there. I have no idea who she is as an artist...other than mediocre. Lots of outright bad notes and overall it seemed like a frenzied mess.

KRIS: She Works Hard For The Money. I really thought he did a superb job of arranging the music to suit him. Whodathunk a dude could sing that song! LIke Simon said, polar opposite of Lil. We know exactly who Kris is. I thought it was an intelligent well executed performance.

DANNY: September. I love this song, but oh how the mighty have fallen. Danny has gotten steadily staler and more boring throughout the competition, particularly when put up against the likes of Kris and Adam. No longer do I envision him as a shoe in for the finals (which he was at the start). While technically great, the performance seemed a bit gawky and awkward. He didn't bring anything fresh or new to the song either.

ALLISON: I didn't get the tongue bath here, but methinks most of it was the judges attempt to boost her votes. I didn't love it and I think she may have sung her way home last night. The performance, her outfit...all a bit indulgent and ridiculous.

ADAM: What can I say...Smitten! This guy has it all plus a bag of chips. He should be out there dropping hits now!

MATT: Justin Timberlame strikes again. HE sure looked like he was having fun and I thought it looked like fun too, but ultimately we all know he's going home too.

ANOOP: Dim ALl The Ligts. I like his voice, I really do. I wish he would've sung it as a slow song. As soon as the band picked up, I checked out.

Top of The List:
Adam
Kris

Middle of the Road:
Danny
Anoop

Bottom of the Barrel:
Lil
Matt
Allison

I thought Kris and Danny were the best last night.

I hope Lil and Matt go this week

I don't see why they don't say something to Allison about how she is dressing. Don't the judges make a big deal about young kids looking and sounding young:confused3:confused3

Adam once again I don't get his appeal:confused3 to each there own. He sure looks like Elvis

Am I the only person who was really distracted by the fact that Simon chose to wear a white Hanes undershirt? I kept thinking, na - it has to be a nice white shirt that just looks like an undershirt. But it had the flimsy, wrinkly collar and was real thin cotton. Heck, it was a cheaper undershirt than I buy my boys. In fact, I think Hanes are better made than that.

Ok....I'm over it. Anyway, this season I seem to either love em or hate em. Adam, Allison, and Kris....love em. For the rest, I just go wash dishes or something more interesting. So yea, AAK - my dream final three.

As usual, if it weren't for Adam (and to some extent Allison), I wouldn't be watching this show because this crop of finalists is about as exciting as watching Wonder Bread go moldy.

Danny is, IMO, Wonder Bread Boy. Bland, boring and oh so white bread. He's never done a thing for me and that hasn't changed. And by all that's holy, can he stop doing the praise band dancing? Stop. Just. Stop.

Kris: I can see why he's technically good, but he leaves me utterly cold. For me, he has no spark, no charisma, no emotion. He's technically 'on', but emotionally, there is no connection. It's like he's being forced to get up there and sing and he does a good job, but he'd rather be doing something else.

Anoop: I think Anoop needs some seasoning, along the lines of Adam's experience out there as a working singer connecting with the audience and finding his best path. He has a wonderful voice, truly, but he needs more experience and this show isn't guiding him along that way.

Matt: Just don't get the appeal and I never have.

Lil: Please. Go home. You are nothing more than a karaoke singer, a GOOD karaoke singer, but that's it.

I really enjoy reading this thread all the time, but rarely post, so hope you don't mind my jumping in.

Last night when I saw Adam, all I could think of was Wayne Newton when he dyed his hair black and began headlining in Las Vegas. Sometimes he looks like Elvis (only with bad skin) or even Billy Idol with black hair. I hated Adam in the beginning, but his talent has grown on me and if he wins, he will absolutely deserve it. :)

Lil should just go home, but chances are she's going to be around another week.

Chris is for sure talented, but not sure he has enough following to keep him around much longer - nevertheless, he'll have a record deal soon enough.

Danny, same as Chris, only Christian music will be his success story.

Matt - dunno - I go back and forth. Agree the hat needs to GO!!

Allison - so long, cannot go soon enough.

Anoop - I though he looked hot last night, unshaven in that pink sweater, but he's not going to be around much longer and not even sure we'll hear too much from him after the show. He does have a wonderful voice, but has not seemed to find his niche yet.

I miss David Cook.

:lmao: Perfect, absolutely perfect!!!

After seeing the show a second time on a proper widescreen TV (instead of the live East Coast choppy feed), I liked Adams performance a lot better.

I think that I must have had a similar experience to Tatania last night. I may be crazy but I think there is a difference in sound quality depending on how you watch the show. I watched the show the first time without having it on the digital, high def channel (my daughter turned the set on and I didn't realize) and I really didn't like anyone's performance. I relistened afterwards and was blown away by Adam. I think you need the better quality audio to really hear the beauty and richness of his voice. I thought he was best of the night.

I know from his brother's blog and from the fact that he's no longer involved with his former BF Cheeks (BTW, a very funny guy, if you ever get a chance to see him on Youtube), that he's felt the pain of unrequited love and I think he conveyed it very movingly.

Where can you read his brother's blog?

As far as the others,
I liked Anoop but it sounds like I may be the only one.

Kris would be next but mainly because he was just the best of the worst. I really like Kris but this just didn't do it for me.

Alison was just OK. She is still mumbling her way through a lot of the lyrics.

Danny, Matt and Lil were just bad. Any one of three can go home tonight.

I enjoyed some of the performances last night, but after checking out Dial Idol and this thread I see that most did not share my opinions. I loved Adam and also liked Alison, Danny, and Kris. I was totally shocked by Dial Idol's predictions - I know that it's really close but still....I have no idea who is going to be going home tonight now!

 Welcome!! And I miss DC, too!!

I wasn't impressed last night, but then again, Disco is not my favorite genre. For the most part, I didn't agree with the judges (except for Lil).

My opinion ranges from "OK" to "eh", even for Adam. What I like about Adam is that if he doesn't like a genre, he completely rearranges the song (like "Ring of Fire" during country week). I thought "If I Can't Have You" was OK, but I prefer to see Adam rock out. OTOH, my favorite performance of his is "Mad World", so go figure.

Everyone else was "eh". Danny was the most fun. I didn't like the Santana-esque "She Works Hard".

I think that even if Adam were to drop out next week (which won't happen, he's too popular), he will still get a recording contract out of this.

What's up with the Dial Idol results? I hope they're wrong, like last week. Texting seems to skew the results on there.
