@2vets you beat me to it! I was dying to ask whether anyone else had seen that fb post! Gosh I miss the CL tea so much! I confess that we spend an inordinate amount of time enjoying the lounge. We are very often back from the parks during that time frame, and it was just soooo nice to come back to that wonderful relaxing tea, and that it was the perfect prelude to to evening apps. We would do the parks, get back with just enough time to hit the end of tea time, the head back to the room to relax and refresh, then head back out to the lounge for apps before our evening plans. Also, I normally despise scones but the RPC scones were incredible! I swear I can still taste them, lol.

Which number are we supposed to use for booking Minnie Van transportation now that anyone can use it? Do I call Signature Services like always or do I call the regular Minnie Van number that used to be just for modifications and cancellations?

I believe you can only use Signature Services if you have a CL room. I think you need to call the regular number.

The Minnie Van number is (407) 828-3500. They have different options to select if you're staying club level vs at a deluxe with no club level. ETA - I called earlier today to book and they made me call the Minnie Van line directly, although that may have been due to the CM not knowing how to transfer the call.

Well that’s ridiculous. Part of what you’re paying for with CL is them making reservations for you. They can book ADRs, tours & recreation, they should be able to book Minnie Vans.

RPC is stepping it up! I love that! It also might encourage other Club Level managers to
re-imagine their offerings. I wish I could go to RPC right now....although I always wish that.

I made my reservations this past Friday by calling signature services but my confirmation came from "Minnie Van" rather than the Signature Services email.

@2vets, hope you have a great trip. Could you let us know how the elevator situation is? I think I can put up with the construction, but there’s no way I want to walk up 3 or 4 flights to my room. Last resort, there’s always the elevator the 2nd floor rooms need to use back by Gasparillas.

Hi - lots to say, it’s been an interesting day, for sure. I took a red-eye last night, and I didn’t sleep more than an hour - which would have been ok, but I didn’t get enough sleep Mon night, and then I worked 12 hours on Tuesday, so I was completely exhausted. Won’t get into details bc they fixed it, but there was a room delay - I was exhausted, and the noise in the lobby was really quite bad today (a CM told me this was the first bad day they’ve had in a while - it was def NOT this bad in May). Anyways, I didn’t wait for an elevator at all. Right now, I think the main CL one is closed off on the ground floor, but when I finally brought bags up, I did birdcage elevator to 2 and main one to CL. Also, they are actively directing people to the stairs, and that helps. The noise was more of an issue to me today. It was just silly, they had the pianist playing…while there was very loud drilling/hammering. I mean - come on, ya’ll, coordinate!! We’ll see what happens as the weekend approaches!

Hello from RPC! No evidence of tea service in a tray today, but they have increased afternoon offerings since May. In addition to the typical chips/crudite/cookies/brownies, there was soup and cucumber sandwiches. Things are happening! Delighted to see these guava short ribs (on the plate to the right) at apps, they are freakin’ spectacular. I could eat 90 of them.

I was nearly asleep on a table today to be fair! And I had a meeting so was also near the front of the club/resort rotunda area. Tomorrow, my day is crafted to LOITER. And I am doing my best to start smooching some , so let’s see…

Mid-day service at RPC today - soup, mini tea sandwiches, standard chiis/crudite selection, confetti mickey whoopie pies, blondies. Here’s a very frank opinion from me, and keep in mind that I absolutely adore RPC. The rooms, lounge, and CMs are lovely as always, and the CMs are making the best of things, but the noise is awful and continuous and not conducive to a relaxing environment. They are actually drilling/jackhammering into the marble now, which I didn’t realize yesterday. I cannot recommend a main building stay right now unless you are certain you will not be adjacent to it - for the love of all that’s holy, if your stay is soon, spring for TPV or an outer building suite so you know you will have a place to go that’s isolated from it, ESPECIALLY if you have kids that need naps. There is no escape when your room overlooks the lobby. I am just dealing with it now because it is almost as loud in my room. I really hope they are not working tomorrow afternoon or this weekend!

Eta- they could not have been more frank about the work going on here - I have video but will not be posting it anywhere because I think it will bring some not-positive feedback for RPC, and this is certainly not a reflection on them. I underestimated the noise since it was so intermittent in late May.

Is the Club level lounge "locked" at AKL? I am totally curious as SIL just posted that they had breakfast in the "VIP lounge" (he is a Disney newbie, this is trip #3 for him). I know DD rented points to stay at AKL savanna view... so how did they get breakfast at the lounge??? Not only am I curious, I'm JEALOUS. In 27 years traveling to Disney, the biggest upgrade I've ever received was being moved from a standard room at ASMusic to a preferred room!

So I think you are asking does it have doors that lock? No. Came back at 2am from after hours party and grabbed a drink from the fridge, it was still pretty well stocked. Can anyone get to CL? No. And i will say the CMs are pretty good about knowing who should be up there. It would be possible if you got on the elevator with someone and they were going to the 6th floor. Since you have to scan in the elevator to be able to get to the 6th floor. If they were renting DVC points, then they rented AKL CL points which are almost impossible to do (only 5 of these rooms) or they snuck up there somehow. I dont know what else could be called VIP breakfast area at AKL.

I was wrong, she was using a BounceBack rate for a savanna view room... but I just heard from her and YES they were upgraded to a savanna view club level suite! This happened on their honeymoon also. They were booked standard at Coronado and ended up in the Tower and could see the fireworks from their room. Happy for them, but MAN am I jealous!

Ah, I should have kept reading. How exciting!!!! I hope they are having a wonderful time.
