back from seeing my Dad, thanks for the hugs and well-wishes. He in a rehab /assisted living home for now, may be heading in for more surgery (on his back) my mom is completely worn out, but she was so cute when I told her about the whole DISboards thing and how you all were so thoughtful...and she loves Idol so she thinks thats even cooler that we all gab about it.
on the Adam/ smug subject thingy, I noticed his DAD appeared that way in the first top 36 show...he had a VERY " we all know my son is the best, why waste time" look on his face. I have not noticed it on Adam myself, and I am not his top fan, matter of fact I didn't ( still don't really) like his shrill high notes, yeah he's dramatic...but he can pull it off, so why not? He's easy on the eyes for sure, entertaining, but so far on stage, not arrogant or bratty which many of the past ( and some current) contestants have behaved like. He is very creative and talented and very easily COULD be a t**l, but so far has shown the tv public quite the opposite. When looking at the remaining 8, (which is all any of the contestants should be compared to ) he stands out. I think Kris is right on his tail tho, matter of fact I think that will be the last 2 standing unless Kris has an awful week. I know Danny is the obvious challenge to Adam, but I think Kris has a broader range of vocal style, AND he is Adams roomie, and I think they do all try and help each other out and Adam has the most professional experience. Maybe that is what is hard to take, how Idol was all about the unknown talent, for those who had no connections, were raw...not anymore. Do you remember the shy cowboy kid from season 5 or 6? From a town of about 500 and he used to sing to the cows? Could you see him against an Adam? I do wish taht were still the heart of the show, but the more popular it got, the more tarnished it became.
On another note, yeah, Disney songs would be cool. let's hope!
