For some reason whenever I see David Lamebert I immediately think of Rocky Horror Picture Show - lol.

He is my favorite this season though.

LAMEbert sounds about right.

I'll take Adam's "screeching" any day over Gokey screaming and panting at me.

:laughing::rotfl:

You tease!!

Well, in reality I'd take David Cook over ANY past/present American Idol contestant. And out of this season, I liked Alexis the best. I don't really care for anyone that's left. Anoop, Allison, and Scott are okay. But that's about it.

I've watched all of Adam's interviews and the weekly Vid Cams from the dol house, and if he was cocky or conceited it would definitely have come across at one point. But it's the opposite. He comes across as totally genuine, unaffected and professional. Because he has the most experience in the business, if the other contestants need help, he's there for them because this group truly seems to get along. That's unusual considering it's in their best interest to get the other guys out.

Totally agree on that. Because Dial Idol doesn't take text votes into account, no one in the public knows the actual numbers of votes.

BTW, I've only bought one AI CD and that was the big selling one from Kelly Clarkson. I would be first in line to buy any CD that Adam releases, and he's the only person I would consider going to see live. I've watched his YouTube performances and I know I'd love his show.

I'm not going to lie, I haven't watched much "behind the scenes" stuff this season (because I couldn't care less.) But his stage persona is a bit indulgent and arrogant to me. That's just my opinion.

I've bought Kelly's (first and second) Clays, and Idol Showstoppers cd from the Carrie year, Carrie's 2 cds and David Cook. That shows where my tastes run. I know I would not buy anything Adam put out. His style is just not my type of music at all. I never liked the hair bands or any of the other popular bands that I kept being told I just had to love cause everybody did.

I would buy something Danny put out and I would buy something Kris put out. Matt?? Maybe, maybe not.

I bought Daughtry's album and I would buy Kris's and Adam's if they were good. I really like Adam's sound and enjoy his original work.

Regarding the smugness. I don't see Adam as smug at all. He thanks the band, never talks back to the judges, never talks about how well he did and never blatantly disregards advice from his superiors. I do see smugness in Gokey, though, in exactly those things I just mentioned. However, that is all in the eye of the beholder. If you like someone, you tend to hear what they say in differently than others.

The above is the last paragraph of the article, I just needed to comment on it because I think it is a bunch of one person's opinion and how he interpreted the comment made by Seacrest.

I didn't take that comment to mean anything as far as votes go. I think it referred more to stage presence and picking the right songs...Adam does that better than some of the others. And just how is that statement hard data??? It was a comment, I see no hard data anywhere in that article.

I agree. I don't see Ryan's comments as being intentionally or unintentionally telling about actual vote counts

damo, I have to agree 100%. Never seen anything smug about Adam at all, he has handled himself VERY well, unlike some of the others.

I don't see smug in Adam either. a ton of confidence, sure, but no smugness. I'm looking forward to Adam's first cd. What idols have I previously bought? Clay, Kim Locke, Bucky and David Cook. Interesting mix, huh?

I even noticed last week that he took Lil's hand and helped her down the stairs when they were told to take center stage. I felt it was very thoughtful!

I saw that too, he is very polite and thoughtful.:thumbsup2

I bought Clay's first album. And David Cook's album. I also have DC's Analog Heart.

Yeah, I don't notice that stuff because he just bugs me so much that I try not to pay too much attention to him. He's so fake. I guess I'd call him a "poser."

EVERY year they always say there are all the best of friends. :confused3

And where are you getting that he is so helpful? They once mentioned Kris helping some of them on MJ week but I have heard nothing about Adam in that regard.

I will give you professional but genuine and unaffected? :rotfl2: Sorry, I do NOT see that. Maybe I am a cynic but because I KNOW he has been in the business for a while, I think he knows just how to "play" this. So even when he oh-so-seriously mouths "thank you" -- and he does it often -- it comes off as so "I KNOW I am fabulous, OF COURSE you love me, thank you for showering me with the praise to which I am entitled.". There is none of that Melinda Doolittle kind of humbleness or humility about him. He never looks genuinely touched by the praise. He's like McPhee in that way.

The new Idolatries are up -- the Sarver exit interviews and a new Slezak clip. The other guy with Slezak was funny. Danny opinions aside, I loved his bit about the SNL possibilities with Adam. :rotfl:

Thank Goodness! I was beginning to think I was the only one with opinions like that. lol. I'm happy to see I'm not alone.

I thought everyone DID seem like friends last year. But this season is just seems fake to me. And boring.

Melinda Doolittle?? Her little "Who me?" act was the farthest thing from humble.

For some reason, I think you resent that Adam has so much talent. How SHOULD a person act when they have that much talent. There is a chance that he knows he is miles ahead of the other contestants, it's pretty obvious. I think he comes across as a regular guy with loads of talent.

Like David Cook.

If I actually THOUGHT Adam had 'so much talent' maybe I could resent him. But since I don't..... :scratchin

And I disagree about Melinda.

We're a small group. But we're vocal. :rotfl:

I am a member of the Danny "haters" as well.

Talent??? I'm sure he has plenty of talent as a stage actor. But as a singer?? HAHAHA! I have to disagree. I can screech exactly like he does. It's not difficult.

Like David Cook.

Exactly. David Cook has tons of talent as a singer/rock star and I definitely don't resent him. I just don't think Adam has much talent as a singer. A comedian, maybe? lol.

Oh good. It sounds like we would get along well.

I never thought I'd miss season 7 so much.

And I just don't understand why people are getting so upset about others not liking their faves.

I don't care if others don't like the same people I do, I just think a few of the "haters" tend to be a bit rude about it. And I'm not just talking about the Adam haters. It just seems a little extreme for a reality show.

These 2 paragraphs just show how you feel about the contestant changes your opinion on him. Me, I think he knows how to play the game and does it well, but I do think he is probably a really nice guy in real life.

me either, everyone has different tastes in music.

But it does keep it interesting here, it's funny cause this year is reminding me of he Fantasia year. People either loved her or hated her..there wasn't too many middle of the roads withe her. Luckily this year there is a group of people with talent unlike the Fantasia year when no one had it.

Oh man, Fantasia was/is such a joke. Just the other day I decided to watch her performance from AI last year. Just to see Simon's reaction. And then the things he said about her on Ellen was hilarious!
