American Idol Top 4 Idol Chatter and Idle Chatter

Sad and strange Idol news.

Ex-Idol Contestant Struck and Killed by car in NJ

SEASIDE HEIGHTS, N.J. - Authorities say a 25-year-old former two-time "American Idol" contestant has been struck and killed by a car in a New Jersey shore town.

The Asbury Park Press reports that Alexis Cohen, of Allentown, Pa., was killed early Saturday in Seaside Heights.

Deputy Chief Michael Mohel of the Ocean County Prosecutors Office says an autopsy indicated she suffered chest, head and abdominal injuries. Mohel says investigators are seeking more information about the collision.

Cohen auditioned in Philadelphia for the popular Fox singing competition in August 2007, and the episode was aired in January 2008. She tried out again during the show's eighth season.

A video of her angry rant after being rejected by judges went viral on the Internet

I was at the concert in Tampa last night. I arrived early with my DD9. We bought our Adam gear and headed to our seats on the floor. We were in the back of the middle row. So close, but we wished we were even closer. Around us came more Glamberts, including one girl who drove from Valdosta, GA to meet other Glamberts from the internet. She warned me she would scream a lot and probably cry when he got on stage. On the big screen, they played videos from past Idols. From what they showed, David Cook only has 1, Daughtry only has 1, and Carrie Underwood has one freaking million videos.

Finally, it was showtime. Michael Sarver was up first with his 2 songs. He did a good job of getting everyone on their feet.

Next up Megan Joy. She did a good job of getting everyone to say "Huh?" and sit back down again. It was a mix of her singing and the hair.

Scott came up out of the floor on a piano next. He sang well and is pretty funny. He made a joke about the high five heard around the world.

Lil Rounds was next with her set. Her stage presence improved since the show. She did a cover of "Single Ladies" complete with choreography by the videos choreographer.

Anoop Desai came out and got everyone on their feet again. He said he hopes to be on his own tour by November of next year. The girl next to me wanted to know why everyone was booing him. I explained they were calling "NOOOOP!"
July092009-07-28011.jpg

Matt was up next. He had a strange curly mohawk, but nothing could be as weird as Megan's hair. He put on a really good performance.

Group number time! Lil came out with the Bride of Frankenstein.
July092009-07-28018.jpg

Scott and Matt popped up from the stage with matching pianos and matching JT hats. This scared away the Bride of Frankenstein.

Intermission. They played the same round of Idol winner videos. Maybe I should have gone to wait in the bathroom line just to avoid seeing Carrie Underwood dress in many costumes while singing about daddies and cowboy boots?

Next up - ALLISON! She came out singing Pink's "Rock Star" with her guitar. Then she did Cry Baby and Barracuda. Happily, I was finally figuring out how to get closer pictures with my camera.

Gokey was up next. I can't believe I was a fan at the beginning because now I just don't like him (not him as a person, him as a singer). I can only name one song out of his 4, "PYT." But I did get some good pictures of standard Danny moves.

After Danny sang his 3rd song, people started to rush the stage. Then he announced he was singing a 4th, and the crowd rushed back to their seats. People were trying to get a closer look at Adam and were a bit disappointed that Danny had one more song. This is when I realized that an end seat isn't always a great idea. Some people are just too big to be squeezing in and out of those rows. Just saying.

Now, it was time for Adam. Finally! I had been keeping up with the concert on my Facebook, but it was time to put all but my camera down. He sang "Whole Lotta Love", a song by Muse, "Mad World" (which now apparently includes a refrain of "I love you Adam" screamed by a girl behind me), and a mix of David Bowie songs. Allison joined him in between for "Slow Ride". So amazing.

Kris was up next. He did great, but it was a much more relaxed atmosphere than with Adam. He started out acoustic with "Heartless", then hit the piano, followed by electric guitar. Such a cutie. The stage setup for him though made it hard for me to get good pictures.

Then came the group finale to Journey's "Don't Stop Believing"

And a video of Adam. My camera is a digital still, so it wasn't great for videos. But Adam was great.

Thank You for the pics and review. Our concert isn't untill August 26th. We also have floor seats end of row

We are bringing earplugs for when Adam is on stage, figure there will be lots of screaming in our ears from the females. ::yes:: With earplugs hopefully we can enjoy :music: the concert and not get a :headache: from all the screaming.

Still trying to figure out if I want to take my camera or not. Any pics or videos I want to see I can already get from here or youtube.

I went to the concert last night (in Fort Lauderdale). It was awesome!! We loved it!! I thought everyone sounded amazing.

I didn't have a favorite between Adam and Kris when the show was on- it was surprising because it was a first for me that I didn't care who won because I loved them both. With that said, Adam is one of the best performers I've ever seen. Totally amazing, with some pretty sexy dance moves......:rolleyes1 Kris was good too, but it seemed almost like a downer after Adam was on stage! I never felt that way before when watching the show on TV.

It seemed like the best AI concert I've been to by a mile- we went to the first season concert and when Ruben won.

Everyone looked a lot thinner to me- especially Michael! He's lost a lot of weight. Megan looked gorgeous, she didn't have the bride of frankenstein hairdo! Just straight and simple.

They must say the same comments at every concert. Anoop mentioned how he will be playing in that same stadium at this time next year, the lady behind us screamed "You wish!" :lmao: I like Anoop but that seemed alittle bit conceited. ;) Scott was very funny and entertaining, I was surprised! I loved Matt, he was one of the best- loved when he played the piano. Lil was good but 4 songs for her seemed like a little much IMO. I would have rather seen those 4 go to Adam. ;)

I didn't realize we could bring cameras- I am really disappointed that I didn't bring mine! I only have some pics with my camera phone which didn't turn out good at all.

I thought the concert was definitely worth the money- I would even pay to see it again!

Simon, Kara, and Ryan will be back next season. No word on Randy and Paula yet from what I've seen.

I read on Twitter from Danny that his voice was hurting during his Tampa show and he felt he gave the worst performance of the tour. I didn't think he sounded bad, just wasn't a fan of his song choices. But that was interesting to read.

Glad to read Megan chose a better hairstyle.

My friend saw them in Little Rock and Megan's hair was straight. I think Danny did two Rascal Flatts song. I'm scared to even listen online to them.

Ex-Idol Contestant Says Show Is Rigged
Posted Wed Jul 29, 2009 3:48pm PDT by Lyndsey Parker in Reality Rocks
Some ousted season 8 American Idol top 36 semi-finalists--including Felicia Barton, Kendall Beard, and Ju'Not Joyner--participated in an online chat with the Idol website AI Now today. And during his frank online conversation with fans, Ju'Not came right out and said that the TV talent show is in fact rigged, and that its contracts are unfair to contestants.

"It's a fixed thing if I ever saw one," he boldly declared--much to the shock of many naive chatters, who responded with capslocked interjections and frowny-faced emoticons.

It was hardly the first time that AmIdol had been accused of wrongdoing. A book loosely based on anonymous former Idol employees' experiences with the show, Stage 46, made similar allegations last year. But few detractors have ever been as brutally honest as Ju'Not was today.

Ju'Not--who by his own account was labeled a "troublemaker" by Idol producers for questioning the contract (which he dubbed a "slavetract") that all auditioners are required by Fox/19 to sign, and was allegedly told by Idol bigwig Ken Warwick, "You're not going to ruin my show"--explained that he wanted to set the record straight today. He stated that he wanted to reveal "truth of Idol" because "Idol ain't all it is cracked up to be...It's certainly not the fairytale most think it is."

Ju'Not claimed he was cut from the competition, and not invited back for the Wild Card round (a shock to many viewers wowed by his memorable "Hey There Delilah" performance) because of his concerns regarding the fairness of the Idol contract.

"They pay for our lawyers to negotiate against their lawyer (which is BS)," he said. "They make us COLLECTIVELY choose the lawyer, then they act like it's in our best interest. Craziest stuff I've ever seen. I have a son to feed. I HAD to ask questions and know what I was signing. Plus I write my own songs and I needed to know details...Some folks were like, 'Just shut up and sign on the dotted line.' I know better than that...I wasn't complaining...I was asking basic legal questions. There's a huge difference between the two."

He continued: "I definitely believed that affected my time on the show. They didn't like the fact that I wouldn't sign 'just anything' and that other contestants were coming asking me questions. So I think they ousted me the first chance they could get...Even if I didn't get in on votes...how did I not get picked for the Wild Card show when I received comments from the 'judges' that were better than most of the contestants who were picked for the Wild Card show?"

Ju'Not also theorized that he was not selected for the top 13 because he refused to let the show's producers exploit his sympathetic "back story" of being from "the hood." Said Ju'Not: "They wanted me to put that out to the world and expose my personal business for ratings. I wouldn't do it."

While Ju'Not made it clear he believes Kris Allen is indeed talented and deserved to win this season, he also maintained that Kris's victory was fixed. "The producers know who they want and they slant it to reflect that. They fix it in a way that makes you surprised but it's still manipulated," he typed. "Think about it...ADAM, ADAM, ADAM, then...Kris....SURPRISE SMITHCHES!!!!

"What I mean is that people think AI is a talent show," he elaborated. "No. It's a reality show with writers!! We're all actors. All these shows have writers that guide the public opinion. The Hills, Real World. All of them." He even bluntly questioned the validity of the public's votes, saying, "Do you think a billion-dollar enterprise is subject to the whim of the public?"

Naturally, while some chat participants applauded Ju'Not's frankness, others questioned his motives, since few other Idol contestants have come forth with such accusations. Ju'Not explained: "No one else is complaining because a lot of the contestants don't understand how this business works. They've never had record deals or seen a record contract...I have. So I knew what questions to ask. It's kinda like ignorance is bliss. Some contestants may have thought it was just cool to be on TV, but this is my career. I take this thing VERY seriously...Very few people spoke up. They saw me as the ringleader. I'm not naming names. Because I have nothing against the other Idols."

So, was Ju'Not speaking the truth? If so, then he is to be commended for his bravery. But it's possible he was just trying to drum up publicity for the "hot" new album he's self-releasing this winter, in which case he's a typical showbiz opportunist. Or maybe he's just a bitter reject, desperately angling for a 16th minute of fame and dreaming of what might have been. All of this is up for debate.

But there is no debate that Ju'Not is, as he worded it today, "a straight-up person." He definitely went there.

I can't wait for the Idol tour to come here! Only about a month to go...

My sisters and I went to the David Cook concert last Thursday. He really is a great performer/entertainer. :thumbsup2

Yes, that was our show! THANK YOU soooo much for posting these!! :flower3: :yay:
You are most welcome. As you can tell from my signature, I never find it a hardship to look for photos of Adam.

You can also find a few vids on Youtube (not as many as usual -- guess security was very tight at Sunrise compared to the other shows). The WLL videos from Sunrise are not very good so I don't bother to link, but here is a decent Bowie medley:

Too funny!! Loved the pictures of Adam and his sexy hips. He could teach Shakira a thing or two. I don't know how a human being can be so hawt and not ignite the mic stand. Anyone who is still going to the show - what you see on the videos is tame compared to his real life aura - and if possible get tickets as close to the stage as you can.

That is so true! He was fun to watch on TV but seeing him live was amazing. Unfortunately we bought our tickets late so we only got so-so seats :sad2: but I could still see the difference!

Our show isn't for another month -- it seems like forever!

Our venue is a smaller one (only 10K). I think our seats are okay, not great, but in all honesty I've never been in a bad seat in that venue bec it's well designed. I didn't want floor seats bec every freaking time some giant is in front of me and I don't see a darn thing. (I wish they gave you floor seats by height.) I may borrow a pair of binoculars or get a flip vidcam with a good zoom.

I think she's just trying to get more money. I guess we'll have to wait and see. I won't miss her if she doesn't come back.

She won't be back, they wouldn't give her the amount she wanted which after 8 years ya know. She's an original of AI and as crazy as she could be sometimes she obviously was good, several former idols have been speaking out It will be interesting to see how much their ratings drop.
