Question to all who have already been. Did they do a bag check at the concerts? Wondering if I need to get there an hour early just to get thru bag check?

I just checked the rules of our place and it didn't say anything about bag check but I'm sure they probally do. It does say no liquid containers of any kind allowed. I'll have to buy a bottle of water once we get there at probally $5 a bottle can't go that long without water. I'm one of those people who always has water with me.

I read somewhere that some places you can only bring in small bags. I wonder what their version of small is? I didn't see anything at ours about bag size either.

SC: The rules vary by venue and even within a venue, it can vary depending upon the act. So I don't think there is any hard and fast rule.

Any thoughts on the new Idol judge?

Ellen DeGeneres is dancing her way onto "American Idol," replacing Paula Abdul as the show's fourth judge. In a Wednesday release from Fox and the show's producers, DeGeneres described herself as a longtime fan of the hit singing contest.

Abdul, who announced she was quitting the show amid a contract dispute, had been replaced by a succession of guest judges as "American Idol" started next season's auditions.

DeGeneres, host of a daytime talk show, wasn't among them. She will join Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi for the ninth season starting in January.

I think this is so cool! I love Ellen and I think she'd be great as a Judge. I'm really looking forward to it now!

I like Ellen, I think she'll bring humor to the show, she likes to dance....and sometimes she an ramble when she talks. Almost like Paula but more coherent.

...I know I might get flamed here, but I don't agree with the decision to make Ellen a judge...what makes HER an authority on the subject?? I mean, I really like her talk show, I've seen her in person, and she's got a great sense of humor....however, be that as it may, shouldn't someone who actually makes (made) a living outta singing be better qualified??

Like Simon? He has no music background and look where he is. You don't need a music background to have excellent taste and a good ear. Ellen, from listening to her show, is usually dead on when it comes to success from AI. I think she will be a great addition. I don't think she will always be funny as she is smart enough to know that it doesn't always add to the show and that it certainly isn't all about her if she is a regular judge. She always does a great job with the idols when they come on her show. I don't think it will be any different when she is on AI.
