American Idol Top 4 Idol Chatter and Idle Chatter

Same here. I'll just watch taped shows of AI, eat my Danny cookies, and be in complete denial this week. :rotfl2::rotfl2:
Do we love this guy here in WI or what????

:lmao: So which part do you eat first? :confused3 I always start with the ears on a Mickey Bar! :mickeybar

Thanks for all the well wishes! My family's doing OK - shaken up and stressed out from all the insurance issues, but OK! The guy driving just plowed right through the stop sign  What a mess! But thanks again, I appreciate it :goodvibes:
I'm so glad they are all OK. :goodvibes

....::yes::...uhhhh, would you share your cookies please???

I'm glad that your family is OK. I don't think that you need to apolgize for anything. I am appreciative that you have been a voice of reason on this thread. I think that you have stated what many of us think needed to be said. In the end AI is just a show and I think Tuesday will have good performances all the way around.

I also agree with all of those posters who complained about the judges. You would think that with all that they are paid, that they could sit there for one hour, pay attention and give constructive criticism. And as far as Paula caring more about the contestants. I can't let that one pass without bringing up her horrible treatment of Jason Castro last year. Jason fans are still waiting on her apology. She never offered one, just poor and contradictory excuses.

I also wonder if Kris benefits from having Jason on the show last year. They are not the same but come from that same acoustic singer/songwriter vibe. Jason is doing fine with his Atlantic Records signing but I thought he definitely should have gone further last year. Maybe Kris is their way of payback. When I am spending time on my grassy knowl, I think that it takes AI a year ahead of time to plan for who they want to win.

I am a huge Kris fan and hated Jason Castro. I don't think their music is anything alike, but what do I know? lol

I may have made a bad comparison. I was basing it on the fact that neither one is that typical AI contestant who goes for the big note. They both are acoustic singer/songwriter types. The comparison probably stops there because while I loved Jason Castro, I just can't get there with Kris. I have been trying to figure out all season why I don't like Kris as much as I liked Jason. I had thought that I was being shallow and maybe it was just Jason's charisma but there might be more to their differences than my untrained ear can tell. Still waiting on another "Hallelujah" performance from any of this year's contestants. "Mad World" and "Tracks of My Tears" were close.

Did anyone catch Jamie Foxx on the Ellen show today? He was talking about when he mentored on AI.

haha, I saw those on the news! I am still so bummed he won't be in the final. But I was at the Summerfest concert which was awesome. While we were in line someone was handing out these sheets for a finale viewing party being hosted by Sophia's Heart Foundation. I just saw on the facebook page that they are postponing it to give Danny another huge homecoming party. :thumbsup2

I know what you're saying. They both have the singer/songwriter, acoustic, low-key vibe, but different voices. Kris has more of a pop voice since he's more nasally, whereas Jason had more of a raw edge to his voice. He had nowhere near as good of a voice as a lot of other singers out there but I loved him because of it. He sounded really good without all the bells and whistles!

Wow, I just read about your family's accident today! So glad they're alright, that's the most important part. The insurance issues... ugh... a nuisance but nothing compared to dealing with insurance AND the hospital... been THERE! :scared:

I made the mistake of comparing David Cook and Danny... :scared: ... there ARE comparisons but major differences too.

Speaking of Hallelujah, my son's choir sang that song at their last performance and it was just BEAUTIFUL. I had him study Jason's performance which is STILL one of my favorite AI performance! :hippie: Loved Jason! :thumbsup2

Okay I'm stuck in the hotel room cause the weather today is for the birds and it's almost Dancing Time. So I'll post Idol news I have

Performers are: Lionel Richie, Carlos Santana, Cyndi Lauper, Queen Latifah, Black Eyed Peas and Keith Urban, as well as Carrie Underwood and David Cook.

Final song is rumored to be titled "This is How I Wanna Be", artists can arrange it for themselves but no instruments can be used.

Final song order:
Song 1: They have to choose a song they have already done
Song 2: Simon Fuller chooses a song for them (producer)
Song 3: Coronation Song

From Our Lady Peace’s MySpace:
David Cook - Charity Single available May 20th
David Cook will be on the American Idol finale show this Wednesday, May 20th performing the song “Permanent” which he co-wrote with Raine.
The song will be available as a download on Itunes that night and all proceeds will go to David Cook’s charity for brain tumour research that he recently set up for his brother Adam, whom he lost a couple of weeks ago to cancer.
We’ll have a direct link to the Itunes single on Wednesday night, so be sure to check back here.

Oh I didn't know that! I remember that happened last year too. David Cook did go first last year, but Simon said he was awful. But the fans did show Simon who was boss!

That is good! Now Kris at least has a shot!

I've got to say if you think Kris's only shot at winning is singing second, you really don't have much faith in him. Two singers we've been seeing all season, three songs each. Neither of them NEEDS the closing song to win.

Will David Cook be performing? :lovestruc

Wednesday. He's singing Permanant. I can't imagine how he will get through it

I'm no sure I'll be able to watch him sing that song, I can see it getting very emotional.

At this stage of the game I don't really think it will matter who goes first or last. If you like Adam you will vote for him, if you like Kris you'll be voting for him...no matter what the performance is like. The only way I think a performance will get votes are those that liked Danny or Alison and were undecided on if they were even going to vote. A performance that knocks it out of the ballpark might sway them

Troobabie - thanks for the update on the car accident. It makes you realize again that your life can change in an instance and to keep focused on the important things. I'm so glad to hear your Dad and brother are OK. Make sure to keep us updated on the Today show stuff.
Wow I would love to see that exit interview with Danny. Do you remember where you saw that? I remember him saying that the show has turned into "what can you do different or fresh with that song" rather than how good you can sing.

These days I spend about an hour (sometimes more) on mjsbigblog following all the links and catching up on Idol news. Actually, it's a good thing this is all over this week because I need those hours back! Anyway, I watched several exit interviews with Danny and I can't remember in which specific one he mentioned that.

I like Kris but he is UBER forgettable. I can't remember one song he sang this year. He is good, he is talented but out of 20,000 possible people, I think even HE is shocked that he made it that far.:confused3 Okay people should not be in the finale. Blow your mind and kick butt types should make it to the final two, whether I like them or not.

Absolutely agree with the love hate thing about Adam. You simply cannot be in the middle of the road of a person like that. You either love or hate Barbra, Britney, Elvis, Whitney, Axel, Celine or Prince. But you WILL remember them.

You are totally right about this. Everyone goes nuts when Kris has one good performance, yet Adam has had consistently good or brilliant performances the entire time. If he doesn't win, it's because the audience is taking his incredible vocal skills for granted - or doesn't even understand how good he is and because America loves to vote for the underdog.

mjsbigblog mentioned that Simon was working on trying to get David Bowie as a duet partner for Adam. I know he is one of Adams favorite artists and that would be a wonderful partnership.

Here is a link to what is probably Adam's final confessional (top 3), and he is clearly quite tired - though looking a hawt as always. He is so adorable and humble, and thanks all his fans for getting him to the final two. He says he would love to win this but knows that anything can happen and does not take a win for granted at all.
Adam fans - let's help our boy realize his dream and vote nonstop for him for a win!!
