American Idol Top 4 Idol Chatter and Idle Chatter

Definitely agree, but it can wan, I just think Kris has longevity whereas Adam is reliant on whether it is a good fad. Remember Elvis was big also but as time went on, he looked stupid trying to keep his act going. I hope that doesn't happen to Adam and he can adapt. But if I were him, I would run with what is good right now. Besides, I don't know but I would bet Adam's real love is acting. Whereas Kris it looks like Music is the thing. He just wants to sing a good song and please but not put on a show. So in that sense I agree that Adam will have the edge in that area.:thumbsup2 But what do I know since I fast forward and can't stand to watch all those names you mentioned above!

Elvis was a fad? No, Disco was a fad, Elvis (even though I was NOT a fan) was a megastar. The year I was born he had nearly every single song on the top ten of Billboard. That was over 50 years ago. He started losing his edge due to drugs, etc., almost 20 years later. Very few stars have the kind of success Elvis had... I can't believe I'm even SAYING this, I couldn't stand him!! :lmao:

I like Kris but he is UBER forgettable. I can't remember one song he sang this year. He is good, he is talented but out of 20,000 possible people, I think even HE is shocked that he made it that far.:confused3 Okay people should not be in the finale. Blow your mind and kick butt types should make it to the final two, whether I like them or not.

Absolutely agree with the love hate thing about Adam. You simply cannot be in the middle of the road of a person like that. You either love or hate Barbra, Britney, Elvis, Whitney, Axel, Celine or Prince. But you WILL remember them.

The judges need someone to go postal on them. They sit there, bickering and play-fighting as if they were in 4th grade. They flirt as if they have just discovered they have hormones and are so busy making sure THEY get their time onscreen that the contestants are getting the short end of the stick.

The contestants work their butts off, week after week, away from their friends and family. They jump through whatever hoops are put in front of them and they do it with a smile. Then they walk onstage and sing their hearts out, doing the best they can. Someone has to go home every week. Some weeks a performer will just bite, and there's no getting around that. But I think the judges owe it to them to at least PRETEND to pay attention when they are singing. :sad2: And when they are giving their critiques, yes, sometimes they will be harsh. Fair enough. But could the other three shut up and quit farting around while the yakking judge gives their feedback to the contestant? Is that too much to ask? A little respect?

It would seem so.

ETA: I could still slap the boyfriend who failed to get off work in time for us to make it to the Prince concert back when he was so new he wasn't even played on the radio. (Except for a one station that played whatever it pleased.....We listened to that one.) This was before "I Want To Be Your Lover" was even a hit. Useless, useless boyfriend. :headache: I notice he got off work in time to make it to the Mr. Texas body builder competition. :lmao: That was during his Arnold worshipping phase. :rotfl:

OMG! That is some list Robin. ALL of them evoke a love or hate from me. I'm just not saying which. :lmao:

Emom, I agree with you. I think it is disrespectful of the judges to act that way. I think Kara needs to go. She brings nothing to the table and just repeats the same things over and over again.

Although I haven't voted for Kris, I felt sorry for him having Kara choose his song and then criticize him for not singing it with a guitar. She is a terrible judge. I think she just talks all of that mumbo jumbo to hear herself speak.

Paula needs to lay off the pills, or whatever it is she is taking that makes her sound so loopy.

Simon is Simon. He isn't going to change for anyone. I like his honesty, but sometimes he is a real jerk.

I like Randy.

I think I dated him too!!!!! :rotfl:

BUT - he did get me to the Bobby Brown concert on time. :cool2:

Their disrespect and juvenile behavoir has bothered me the whole season. It is VERY annoying.

I thought it was a good sign that they lumped Kara with Randy for the song choice week. Hopefully that means she is on the way OUT. :thumbsup2

I'm sorry you are leaving. I didn't say they they weren't nice to me. They were very nice to me. Just not nice to David.

BTW, did you catch him on iCarly last Sunday? He did a brief, at the end, appearance and "bowed out of singing for their 'website'" by "claiming a sore throat"... :lmao:

Entertaining reading for the weekend for sure. Also reconfirms my decision to step out of this thread.

I was not a DA fan last season. However I don't recall anyone being anything other then respectful to you. It's unfortunate that you feel like you were the "one person" getting it.

And with that I'm outta here....for good this time.:sad2:

I hate that you're leaving over this whole mess....

So Adam would be the first openly gay AND Jewish idol?? He's breaking ground everywhere  This Jewish girl may just vote next week for the first time since season 2 ;)

Although, according to the EW issue with him on the cover, there's hedging around about whether he really is gay.... ;)

so, is it a bad thing that I've already programed my cell phone to dial Adam's numbers Tuesday night?

I like Kris, I'm glad he's in the finals, I won't be mad if he wins, but I'd prefer it if Adam wins.

:lmao:

You better hope they don't switch them around......

I find that so funny. My husband told me last week that there were some pictures of Adam where he was dressed in a way that made him appear gay. He said that he heard the pictures were strategically released near the end of AI. (He was implying people were trying to impact the outcome)

:rotfl::lmao: I told him that everyone voting for Adam knew he was gay from the beginning. I mean, come on. We know and don't care.

It bothered me more last year. I think it was because of their nastiness towards Jason and especially Paula's critique of him before he even sang.

I actually think Kara gives much more approprate comments than Randy. To me, he adds nothing except whether he liked it or not. "Yo Dog we've got a hot one tonight"..... or 'I'm just not feeling you tonight dude. Ya know what I mean?" He doesn't seem to really ever give anything concrete but instead comments on hair and clothing. Kara at least says what she would like the contestant to change. She talks about changing the key or the tempo or the phrasing. She's got a lot of very informative metaphors. She's much more technical although tends to look stupid when she has her facts wrong about people and places. I agree with the poster who said that Kara is trying too hard.

I actually would get rid of Paula and Randy and keep Kara and Simon.

:lmao:

You better hope they don't switch them around......

I don't mean to be sarcastic really, but do you even think there is a remote possibility that Adam will go first?? That is why everyone is able to program in the 02,04 and 06 numbers. It is just a no brainer that he will go second. He has to end the show, its a new requirement!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Paula needs to lay off the pills, or whatever it is she is taking that makes her sound so loopy.

Ouch, that is harsh. You do know that she just kicked a pain pill addiction this past year. She has a terrible disability with major painful back problems. I feel sorry for her and I certainly wouldn't blame the meds. I think it is just the way she is. She cares way more for these kids and in my opinion is the only one that remembers that this is these kids dreams. They have an amazing opportunity on AI but they also give up a great deal and deserve not to be made fun of as Simon so easily does. I may like some contestants, but boy I never think any of them should be told some of the things Simon says to them. He is just rude.

So cut Paula some slack, yes she seems loopy, but she at least has a heart!

I know that Paula has a good heart. You can see that in the way she gives the contestants compassion and encouragement. Still, sometimes she rambles incoherently. I think she's had a drug problem for years. By the way she talks on a lot of the shows, it looks like she hasn't kicked it.

She's doing a little better this season. At least she waits for them to sing before she judges their performance. ;)

I don't remember too many of any of the songs this year..from Adam I remember Ring of Fire because it was so :scared1: to me, I remember Tracks Of My Tears because it was a song that he just did nice toned down pure singing on and it was a song I could actually listen to him sing without plugging my ears. I know for the most part what songs they sing, but I don't remember them. Like I remember Danny's Dream On because of the god awful ending. Kris I remember Ain't No Sunshine, She Works Hard For the Money, and To Make You Feel My Love.

The judges seem so much worse this year. I really dislike the fact that most times the judges say what they want, then when it gets to Simon...they all start to talk over him. Just let the man talk, he is usually right even if he isn't always nice about it.

Although, according to the EW issue with him on the cover, there's hedging around about whether he really is gay.... ;)

that has been talked about since the start of the season and those pictures have been on the internet too. If he is not gay then who is in those pictures kissing the guys? And really in this day and age is that even an issue anymore? And if it is then it is a darn shame that as far as we have come that people (not saying anyone here) would make this an issue.

I thought Kris won the toss and chose for Adam to sing first. :confused3

That is what I thought too, it is not up to judges or producers for he finals..it is the coin toss.

 I agree! It makes me laugh most of the time but I can only imagine when the contestants are thinking when they're up there singing their hearts out and the judges are drawing on each other's faces

My parents and brother got into a bad car accident earlier tonight, two minutes after they dropped me off at home. Someone ran a stop sign and plowed into the side of the car. The car's completely wrecked (they couldn't move it, it had to be towed) but THANK GOD my parents and brother are OK. They're at the hospital getting checked out and my dad hurt his shoulder and my mom and brother had minor burns, but they're all alright. My family came over for a while to sit with me, but they left recently and I decided to log on to pass some time. t made me realize that I'm no longer going to argue over a reality show  Life's too short to get caught up in the drama of something as fun as AI. So to anyone I offended, I apologize. I 100% didn't mean any of it personally and I hope the thread can get back to being fun for the finale. Kumbaya, my lord...

I'm a huge, huge Adam fan, but I like them both and wouldn't even care who won. All I know is that both finalists will be on the Today Show on May 28th, and my dad happens to work for the show so I'm ridiculously psyched to see them both perform next week and hopefully get to take a pic with them!

My local paper has Idol Bingo for Tuesday and Wednesday night. The paper has a full page layout with a BINGO card on it and it says "Interactive Idol" and basically you are supposed to mark off the events as they occur and see if you get bingo or can fill the card. It's not a contest or anything, just a fun thing.

It was actually cracking me up because I can see most of it happening.
