American Idol Top 4 Idol Chatter and Idle Chatter

Does anyone know the judges song choice for Danny?

I think it's called Dance Little Sister. It's a Terrance Trent D'arby song, but I don't think I've ever heard it. People have posted that other than being a little obscure it's a good choice for him

Thanks! I don't think I have ever heard the song they picked for Danny. I wonder if Adam will get to sing Wicked Game or if he will sing One. He will probably do great on either (however, he still kind of gives me the creeps). I hope Kris does great with his song, too. I am a Kris fan through and through.

I am so excited for Idol this next week.

So who else is going to the Idol tour? I bought mine this morning for the one in Atlantic City. I'm so excited! :cool1:

I just got 2 floor seats for DD and I for the Tampa concert. I will not forget my camera this year! All I had last year to take pics of the amazing DC was my iPhone.

We got floor seats too At the Palace of Auburn hills. DH is not one to go to concerts. This one was his suggestion. :cool1:

DH and I are going with another couple. The age demographics are going to be very interesting at this concert. My husband has never been to an AI concert. I went with my daughter the year Bo Bice was in it.

I'm taking my DD9 (though it'll be a few weeks before her 10th.) She doesn't watch the show this year. She just watches the Adam performances on DVR and sometimes Allison.

Did his tongue make its usual appearance and salute the flag?

:lmao:

Here is the vocal commentary by vocal coach Rosanne Simunovic for last week. It is an interesting read.

Interesting. She had the same critique about Alison that a lot of us mentioned...the slurring of the words.

I can really see him doing this one well. Kris will need to really do good on his song if he wants to be in the final and I am having a hard time hearing him do Apologize well.

I can't see him doing Apologize well either. Isn't that rather high? And I don't think Kris has the voice for that. Why not pick a song that will compliment his voice. Way to sabotage him and get Danny and Adam in the final.

Been following some of the TV footage of the hometown visits and - trying not to be biased here - but Adam is the most articulate and comfortable in interviews of all 3. No uhming and ahing.
They sing the American anthem ( a very hard song to song well) and there is truly no comparison between Goulkey's strangled effort (like a frog getting his throat cut) to Adam's perfect rendition.

Danny had a sore throat by the end of the day, so his Star Spangled Banner was a little rough, but still :thumbsup2:cloud9: the best!!!!
The Milwaukee homecoming was far and away the biggest compared to the others. YOU ROCK MILWAUKEE!!!!!!!

Danny's concert yesterday was awesome. But then again I'm a homer so what do I know?! I just don't see his arrogance that everyone is talking about. And apparently neither do the othe 25,000 people who packed Summerfest to see him.

Oh, and I just listened to Adam's version of the national anthem...yeah it's decent but I don't get why everyone keeps raving about it. :confused3
Amen! Adam did a good job but don't see what all the excitement was about. :confused3

It still hasn't been confirmed as to what Adam is singing but it seems to be narrowed down to One by U2 and Wicked Game by Chris Isaak.

If he sings Wicked Game it will fall off my list of favorite songs. :sad2: Should do U2.

I'm home and wow yesterday was interesting. I'll tell you details later of it, let's just say yesterday morning stunk!

mandy200587 - can't wait to hear your account!

I thought Danny sounded pretty decent when he was singing in church. He looked comfortable and I think it's a genre that suits him.

One often hears Danny mentioning in interviews that he's tired, needs sleep, and his voice is giving out. You never hear that from Adam or Kris. Adam is actually used to a grueling performance schedule and because his vocal training is excellent he's not shredding his vocal cords the way Danny does. If Danny finds this schedule hard he'd be dead by the end of a world tour. Just another reason why Adam should win this.

This will be the first time either of us have been to an AI concert. DH just booked us a king room suite at a near by hotel for that night, so this will also be a mini trip for us. :woohoo: We could drive it all in a day but we are old :rotfl: and it is 70 miles one way. I'm looking forward to using the shuttle bus from the hotel to and from the palace of auburn hills instead of fighting the traffic.

No big vacation plans for us this year so looking forward to a few of these mini (overnight) trips.

Dd and I got our tickets. The floor was wide open for tix, but I hate the floor -- one bigger person in front of you and you just lost your view. This is the first time we've ever gone and it's solely because of Adam.

Danny's huge crowds, I have to say, were not there because he was the main draw. Summer Fest tickets bring out everyone. I have no understanding how one could view Danny's version of SSB as better than Adam's on any level, but hey, whatever.

Okay so yesterday my friend and I decided earlier in the week to roadtrip to KY from Nashville to see Chuck Wicks. It was his first official gig back since Dancing. Well we left out yesterday morning at 4:30 and we drove straight into the storm that my friend nicknamed the second coming of jesus. It was heavy downpours bad enough to flood some places, the lightning was enough to light the sky up to look day light. We actually pulled over for 10-15 minutes because it was so bad. We drove for a hour or so in it till it stopped. Then we got stuck in 2 hour traffic jam, it took us 2 hours to go 6 miles.

We had left in enough time that we would of been at walmart by 9:45 yeah we got there at 12. We made the signing by the skin of our teeth literally. A roadtrip that usually takes 4 1/2 took close to 6 1/2. We then headed grabbed some lunch and headed to the speedway for part 2 of the day. Concert started at 6 we were there at 3 and right at the front of the stage. We spent the time talking and watching the soundcheck. We managed to be front row and it was good, he's a bit under the weather and tired but he was still good.

...if he's gonna sing a Terence Trent D'Arby song, he should sing Wishing Well...:confused3 JMHO...

I agree totally. Listening to these one after the other, there is no question about the better performance. Adam's version of the Star Spangled Banner was with such a clear, powerful voice without being overdone. This is the way that our national anthem should be sung. I have read that maybe Danny had a sore throat but Adam sounds so good that this is almost an unfair comparison.

...if he's gonna sing a Terence Trent D'Arby song, he should sing Wishing Well...:confused3 JMHO...

While I agree it is a more widely know song, it isn't necessarily a better song. Also, isn't this the song Paula (or one of the judges) picked for him?

It was nice to see and hear Adam just stand there and sing..no over the top over blown production...just pure singing. IF he had sung like that on Idol I would have enjoyed him this year. He has an awesome voice, he doesn't need all the stuff he does on the show.
