I did like a few of the contestants last night, which is a CHANGE. I don't know if I could stand another "sugar melts in my mouth" Kelly Pickler clone, though... Bailey/Haley whatevah!

I liked the make faces girl, she had a voice like Anita Baker. It was unique and interesting. It would be interesting to see if she makes it through with a felony when they UNinvited Akron for a misdemeanor.

So glad the auditions are almost over, I want to hear some SINGING!!! Bring 'em ON!!

I saw a thing on the local news on Monday night about Akron and his cousin setting up a "Bring Ak Back!" website. I wondered if they were going to show his audition last night because of that. I was really surprised when they did.

I couldn't believe Bailey (or whatever her name is) got a second chance. Those facial expressions really did take away from the performance. I couldn't stop STARING at her weird mouth movements and her eyebrows. I swear her eyebrows were possessed by the devil.

It was a misdemeanor charge.........hmmmmmmmmm...........I wonder what the rules say because I know there have been contestants that have had past charges against them for things and they still competed and then there were contestants that had charges against them and they didn't compete - wonder if it has something to do with how far in the past it's been.

Perhaps it is in the interest of full disclosure.

Kind of like when you apply for a job...just b/c you had a charge in the past, doesn't exclude you from consideration...but the omission of that charge could get you fired for lying on your application.

I don't know what they fill in on the app--but that could be what it is.

I remember the one guy that looked like an axe murder (scott something??) and he had charges for something (like hitting his partner or something) and there was a firestorm over this. However I believe he had disclosed it and he wasn't under "current" charges or anything...the whole situation had been taken care of and he disclosed it...so nothing to exclude him from competition.

(I hope that makes sense)

ETA: The twins last season--same deal..but opposite affect..they were under current charges that had not been resolved....so were nixed. Kind of hard to be on a show if you have restrictions due to a charge. (don't remember the exact details).

I clicked on this link and got a warning from my anti virus that it might be infected. I quarentened (sp) it and deleted it and then clicked on the link again to see if that is where it came from & i got the same warning the 2nd time. Anyone else?

Eh, so the best of the rest was pretty good. It gave us Tammi, a rocker chick who broke the AI mold of the cutesy white girls. Sorry but you've got to admit that all the white chicks look like they could have walked out of a fashion magazine. They also have a tendency to sound the same but not our Tammi. No one with ever confused her with Katharine McPhee or Kelly Clarkson. I'm already a fan. A girl singing Whipping Post!! How cool is that.

Paul Kim who sang If I Ever Fall and was a William Hung fan stood out for me. I really liked his voice.

The OMG moment of last night was when they were showing people who were trying out again. One of the 3 cowboys from the final show was there. It was the one with the really deep voice. I don't know if he made it back on but I hope he did.

Ebony, the roller skating girl, was interesting. The other skater that made it was OK but nothing special.

At last I'll get my Mandisa fix this year. Letisha who sang Think! was amazing and, as much as I liked Mandisa, I thought she was even better.

Can't wait for next week when things really get down to business.

Paul Kim who sang If I Ever Fall and was a William Hung fan stood out for me. I really liked his voice.

Clarification--he wasn't a "fan". When asked who he is inspired by--it was William Hung b/c there is little to no Asian talent in the US. They are underrepresented and he is motivated by Hung to step up and show that there is some talent out there in the Asian population.

In other words--William Hung inspired him to "represent".
