Like I said previously, I'm a fan of Melissa's and I think its great she snuck into the top 12. I'm having a hard time rooting for many people this year, but I do like Melissa. (The only ones I really like at this point are Melissa and Mandisa)

That being said though, this week it'll either be Melissa, Kevin, or Bucky. I'm leaning towards Melissa or Bucky. I hope B goes, but think M'll leave us.

His album will be out in the summer. It will be promoted in the USA FINALLY!!!! His first album (the idol one which was produced in six weeks) wasn't the greatest but he has spent a year getting this one together, working with some half decent song writers. He is also an amazing violin player, so hopefully he will incorporate some of that into his new album. He does a mean rendition of Devil Went down to Georgia.

Glad you like him! It was a really fun season when he was competing. Apparently his vote tally was so much higher than everyone else's every week that the one judge said, "It will take a thermonuclear explosion for you not to win this thing." I doubt that we will ever have an amazing season like that one again.

Make sure you listen to House of the Rising Sun and especially Nature Boy.

On one of the clips, the idol contestants are all playing instruments and doing a Gordon Lightfoot medley. You can hear what an impressive player he is. That is the Group number that is in red bold (top 6).

His mom was just diagnosed with breast cancer this week, so things are pretty sad in the Kalan fan club right now.

I remember watching him on CI and thinking how awesome he was for being so young. Hopefully with being a border town he will get heavily promoted here. I would love to hear him on the radio!

Yeah, Gedeon is another backstory they chose not to mention. Brenna also had a backstory (her father died when she was young and her stepfather died trying to save a kid a few weeks before Brenna was to go to college) that was not mentioned. I think its unfair for people like Kellie to manipulate voters by using a sob story.

I don't think it's fair to blame Kellie. AI is the one playing up her story, not Kellie.

I completely agree...it's not Kellie that's playing up her story. The producers are. She has no control over which clips they show. I don't think she faking her naivete either. She seems genuine to me. It's not her fault that all that may give her an advantage over some of the others, with some voters.

I think it'll be Melissa that goes although I'd rather see Paris gone. All the guys should be safe.

Jessica Sierra not only deserved to make it into the top 12, but she dserved to have made it further than 10th place. Jessica was fantastic and got shafted because she wasn't one of the chosen ones. Melissa does remind me a bit of her, which is funny sicne they are both Tampa girls.

Maybe they never "wanted" Brenna or Gedeon because they wanted to sell more than 15 albums Considering either would have been a financial disaster, I can't imagine why they would want them to do well.

That said, I don't think they have done anything wrong in how they've portrayed the people on the show. Most of them have had the opportunity to tell their own stories. Kelly's just happens to have some bad things in it that she chose to share. Her perogative to do so, and I certainly don't hold it against her.

I think "blame" is the wrong word anyway. The producers have a job to do, just like the singers. The quality of the work the producers do is reflected in the fact that AI has held three of the top five spots in the Nielsen Ratings each week since it premiered this year. So "blame" them for doing any incredibly good job, perhaps.

A few posts later, another poster thought you may have been talking about Kim Caldwell.

Once again, I was a big fan of her, she was my favorite back in Season 2. Everything I said about Jessica Sierra could also have been said about caldwell, lol.

I just don't seem to share the opinion of the majority most of the time.

It's true that the only thing that really should concern the AI producers is ratings and they certainly do a fine job of getting those. Like the show or not, it works.
