American Idol, Season 5 **Official Discussion Thread** Part 2

Our local Fox station has done a 30 minute show on Bo Bice. It talks about all of the Alabama Idols but mainly talked about Bo. He has really had a rough year. Maybe this will be his year. Some friends of mine have known Taylor for many years and say that he is a very humble guy and is very appreciative of all the fans and the good fortune that has come his way.

They know him? Quick question... what does he do for a living? Before AI that is.

I'm actually "watching' the whole show now as I got home around 9:10.....Kat will so not be an actress after that stint with Meatloaf....she looked really aloof.

Loved the show tonight!

That Clay Aiken wannabe was hysterical, when he saw Clay, it was the best reaction. I had forgotten what an incredible voice Clay has, is he coming out with a new album soon?

Nancy, you're much too nice. The correct response to that kind of comment is, "Oh, you won't have to search too hard. Just look on the Billboard chart slightly ahead of Taylor's album."



(I'll own both their CD's, so I'm neither overly thrilled or disappointed by the show tonight. Too late to post a full recap at this point, so I'll just say that the show was good, Kat was gorgeous and sang beautifully, and a BIG congrats to Taylor for a well deserved win!

Very happy to see Taylor give our local news reporter the first interview! And someone screamed "War Eagle" in the background during his interview! Awesome!

I think the producers of AI should acknowledge B'ham's contribution to the show by at least holding auditions here next time. Taylor auditioned in Las Vegas and Bo & Reuben in Atlanta (I think.)

Congratulations to Taylor! What a great show! I still love Kat, and it was nice to see all the talented faces of this season!

But I'm sad to see that Kat is still getting bashed. It's over people, move on.

That sounds kind of hateful!
If he doesn't have a family to support it sounds more like he was following his dream 100%.
Granted, I don't know him but I am also from Alabama and know a few people who say they 'knew him when' (yeah, already)....

I don't get that picture from them at all. He was happy to live a VERY SIMPLE LIFE in order to do what he loves. I don't think that makes him a deadbeat.

I can't believe I'm saying this but my favorite moment of the whole show was Clay Aiken! I almost didn't recognize him with darker hair. Good to know he still appreciates what got him to where he is today.

Meatloaf - what happened to you? But good job by Katherine because he was so off key!

Prince - wow! that was soooo cool to see him!

Loved Chris singing with Live - so great!

Clay all the Way! but what's with the hair?

But then the winner... while i knew that Taylor was going to win, when Ryan said "what do you want to say to your fans" and the first (and only) words out of Taylor's mouth were "Soul Patrol" all I could think was "that's it? that's what you say to the millions of people that voted to you?" we are very well aware of the 2 words soul patrol thank you very much. i would have hoped for more. Oh well. I'll just have to wait for Katherine's cd...

Oh, I just loved Bucky's voice and I will miss listening to him sing. He makes country music proud.
