Did anyone else think that Ryan blindsided them with the results tonight? He skipped right to the result with no chatting at all. Neither of them expected it & it looked like it took both of them a moment to register what he said. I was talking to DH & stopped midsentence because I had expected him to say what the judges had said last night ... like he usually does.

I just haven't been motivated to post much. But it is very weird, that my favorite left (and has been for the past 2-3 weeks) is....... Katharine!


I just don't understand how people are proclaiming they are done with the show because of one person. If I did that, I would have quite after the Top 20 show when Brenna Gethers got voted off. Its just a tv show, and I'm kinda shocked how invested people get with these "characters." Its not a total shock that Chris was going, he was on the low end of DI this week, plus he has gotten lazy in the last couple weeks with his performances. What I am shocked about is that TPTB let him go, he was their chosen one.

Next week should be interesting. Elliot and Katharine need to both bring IT, and the one that does will face Taylor off in the finale.

Now, maybe they will change the voting system. Simon's two favourites didn't make it to the final, something that has never happened before.

Change the voting methods? Based on these boards alone, Idol will be all the watercooler talk for the next few days. This is what they dream of.

I think that it's more of a case of there not being a clear frontrunner this time around. I was talking with my dad tonight and we both agree that as the season has gone on, no one has had that "wow" performance yet and because of that, no one has become a frontrunner. There are a surprising amount of people on these boards (myself included) who liked all four of the finalists (although we may like some moreso than others ).

Believe me...they won't change the voting methods.

In response to the person who said that I would probably be saying the same as the Chris fans if Taylor had been voted off (that I am DONE with AI and never watching again)...well, that's simply not true. I like AI the show. I started watching it the summer of 2002 halfway through the first season. I have watched every episode of AI since then and so far ONLY one of my favorites has won and that was Kelly Clarkson. She is also the only AI contestant who's albums I own (I have both her CDs and love them). I watch the show because I find it entertaining. I think most of the contestants are talented and I am sad when most of them go (with a few exceptions). I do not enjoy the audition shows where they waist our time showing ridiculous people with no talent. But I love all the shows once they get down to the actual singing competition each week. I have seen many of my favorites go earlier than I thought they should. But I have also always been happy for the winners and happy for the success of any of them. I wish them all well. So...if Taylor had gotten voted off this week I certainly would have been sad and also disappointed that I wouldn't get to see him perform again. But I still would keep watching. I just really enjoy the show.

It is all about ratings. I don't think Idol cares if we talk, as long as we watch. Idol is all about money. If the final doesn't get the ratings that they anticipate, the money they bring in from sponsors will go down and something will have to change. Notice how they haven't talked about the number of votes since Kellie left. I think the ratings with a Taylor/Chris final would be much higher than any combination of the other three.

Back to Pricilla ~ I think she looks just horrible now! I used to think she was so beautiful. I think she would have looked better if she hadn't had any facial surgery. I bet she was still aging gracefully. I sure would want to know who her Plastic Surgeon was so I could tell everyone to STAY AWAY!!

I bet her swollen looking tummy was from some sort of tummy surgery she probably recently had!

I'm one of them! I've been voting for all 4 of them since the beginning, but Elliot won me over when he did that very first Stevie Wonder song (the one before Stevie week).

My friend has a theory that now that Kat has made it thru, she'll take the whole thing. I have an Elliot-Underdog theory. LOL

But I do look forward to Chris' album with much anticipation!!!!

Why are so many people mad at American Idol? I doubt that this went the way that they wanted and they can't do anything about how people vote, at least that's what I assume. My favorite left long ago and it's been kind of fun to just watch the show without worrying too much about who I should vote for. I never saw a reason to quit watching the show.

I do admit that this result was shocking though even if DialIdol had it right. I really expected Katharine to leave. It seems that many of the other voted-off contestants have shifted to Elliott which is kind of interesting. It's hard to predict who will win now but I'm guessing that Taylor will take it. He's been the DialIdol favorite for a long time plus VFTW is helping him too.

Its not just VFTW. Soul Patrol is a huge and devoted fanbase. VFTW has kind of come up with our own take-off of the Soul Patrol name, but I can't post it here, lol.

But yeah, the elimination tonight will definitely get people to talk tomorrow. And that is never a bad thing.

DH and I both gasped when Chris got the boot. We both thought he would take it all even though DH's favours Taylor. (I am a huge Chris fan)

I will buy his CD when it comes out and he might be better off not being sent on the "Idol" escalator to over-processed records...


I will be pulling for Kat from now on as I love her energy and her voice. Go KAT go...

Seems like Chris got a little too cocky - he acted like he absolutely didn't care on Tuesday. Now the pressure's off. Hopefully, his following has a longer memory than Constantine's...or Justin's.

Chris will be fine...He is 10x the singer both of those guys were

I like Elliot and Taylor, and Katherine was the best female they had...but not ONE of them is worthy of the AI title. Chris is the best performer AI has ever seen...hands down.

Sorry but you are completely wrong....As I explained in a previous post Chris was not a performer....was he better than Kat and Elliott....Yes I think so....I think his over singing and screaming really hurt him....I think Kat may have the best voice this season but Taylor just has it all....and based on Tuesday nights show Chris probably earned a spot home....I have never liked Elliott I have made that known but I thought his first song was very good....Chris was very forgettable....Its a shame they are judged on one night and not the season and that its a popularity contest....If we voted on voices Mandissa, Paris and Kat will be top 4 with Taylor....I actually think a Taylor and Kat finals will happen....

I totally disagree. In my opinion, I don't think Chris screams or oversings AT ALL!!! And right now I am completely depressed and in a little bit of denial. I will probably not care to watch the rest, and definitely don't care to vote. Oh well...

I think Kat may have the best voice this season but Taylor just has it all....

We're all entitled to our opinion. I truly cannot stand to watch or listen to Taylor. His "style" is nails on the chalkboard. It's like George Clooney and Joe Cocker mated.

While Katherine has done okay on some songs, the sour look on her face this week and last when she landed in the bottom two just really turned me off. Such a bad sport.

I'm not done with AI, but I'm done for this season. Back to Lost.

Poor Chris. I felt really bad for him. He was my second favorite contestant all the way through this season. I enjoyed him a lot. Sometimes he did screech, but he had a really great sound and really seemed to try to choose songs that were right for his style. He will definitely be missed.
