How did THAT happen???!!!!!

I like Elliot and Taylor, and Katherine was the best female they had...but not ONE of them is worthy of the AI title. Chris is the best performer AI has ever seen...hands down.

I think I'm done with American Idol.


After what Tommy Mottola had to say about Chris, I'm going to assume he'll get a recording contract regardless of tonight. And I agree with the previous poster who said he'll be better than the previous winners.

I know its the viewers who vote....but something about AI just ain't right

Fantastic Episode!!!!

Chris has pretty much been one of my least favorites the entire competition. And plus he was pretty much "the chosen one" to win this one, so I'm ecstatic Chris is gone.

This paves the way for a Taylor victory.

I'm not worried about Chris. His career in music is limitless. You could see Simon, Tommy Mottola and Clive all SALIVATING over him and the prospect of producing his music. I think Chris will outsell any Idol thusfar. I'm disappointed that he won't win. He deserved it. He has more talent in his big toe than Kat or Elliot. I'm so bitter right now! Elliot...what a joke! It's like Anthony making it to the final 3 last year. He's just out of his league!

Actually, from a purely musical stand-point, Kat and Elliot have much better voices than Chris or Taylor. I am not saying anything about charisma or performance. I wouldn't compare any of the final four, and now the final three, to Anthony, who was truly out of his league.

I really liked Chris and I was surprised he left this week. However, I think he will do okay. Of the final four, I think Kat and Elliot need American Idol much more than Chris and Taylor do. JMO

I guess I'm one of the few NOT surprised that Chris is gone. He has a good voice (not great, but good) IMO, but he is BORING. I think he will do well as a lead singer of a rock band...but not as a solo performer. I would fall asleep if I had to sit through a whole concert of just Chris.

Unless you can sleep through anything, that would be difficult, as Chris' mode of singing is to scream.

Kat didn't do well last night and probably should have been the one to go home tonight, but I think overall she has the most potential. She has ten times the personality of Chris. And yes...I can agree that she might be better suited for Broadway...but there is a boom in popularity for "standard" type singers on the pop charts (Michael Buble, Peter Cincata)...maybe she can fill the female void there. I don't think she will win, nor do I think she deserves to win. But I like her a lot...and with the likes of Tommy Motola and David Foster on her side, she will do fine.

Taylor's my man...I love him. I want to see him in concert. This is the first time I've had any desire to go see an AI concert and it's because of him. He is fun and entertaining and gracious and LOVES to sing. He makes me smile. But...here goes...I kind of would like an Elliott upset. Not because I care for his singing so much (he's got a lovely voice...just not a style I care for)...but because he WANTS it so bad. And he probably needs it more than anyone else. I think Taylor will win though. Just goes to show that people want to be entertained! It was so obvious in the group performance tonight who the entertainers were!


And to those of you who are DONE with Idol. I'm sorry your favorite is gone. I'm sorry you feel betrayed. And I guess I won't see you here again...so goodbye!

I sure wouldn't. I probably wouldn't vote anymore, but I would still watch. And next year will be a new season with new talent.

My 3 faves from the auditions were Taylor, Paris and Mandisa. I am so pleased Taylor is still in it, but if he goes next week, I'll still watch the finale. I don't take the show so seriously.

My favorites always seem to get booted before the finals. And I still watch.

Well, I will admit that my jaw dropped when Chris was booted off. I was pretty shocked but no matter who they vote off now, it will be hard for me. I really like all 4 (but Taylor is my favorite). I think all 4 have something different to offer & they each do it well. I also think that none of them will have anything to worry about career wise. They will all do well & I'm sure they will all be offered recording contracts.

On that note, rest assured that I will be the first one in line to buy Taylor's CD!

I do have to say, did anyone notice the look on Chris' face when Ryan told him that he was out? I don't think I've ever seen such a shocked & non-believing type look on an AI contestants face before. It was almost like Chris was not quite understanding Ryan correctly....did anyone else notice that?

I voted for Katherine. I've liked her since the beginning and I'm not afraid to say it! I liked Chris too though. He and Kat have been my favorites since the beginning. I really thought they'd be the final two.

While I was shocked as he!! that Chris got voted off instead of Katharine, he just wasn't one of the favorites around here (by around here I mean in my family and group of friends). He almost always sounded one dimensional to us. Taylor is our favorite and hopefully he'll make it to the next round. I'd still love AI no matter what the outcome.

I voted for Chris and Elliott last night, and I had a horrible time getting through to Chris's phone number. I was only able to actually vote twice, but I think I tried a couple of dozen times.

I'm with you too! It's a TV show, I watch for fun. I had my favorite, he's gone, I still watch. I have only voted a few times this season, I liked way too many of them this year to choose just one person that I would like to win. Any one of this final four would have been a good choice to win this. Now anyone of the last three would be ok.

ummmm......ooookayyyyy. Chris's music may not be your type...but he's got a great voice. Your statement is pretty far from the truth. Tommy Mottola even commented on how amazing he sounded and how great he'd be in the recording studio. He bets the he!! out of many rockers we have today. Just because he doesn't sing Barry Manilow or Johnny Mathis doesn't make him a screamer.
