Some thoughts:

Joshua has been one of my favorites from the beginning, now I think he has taken over the top spot. What a a performance!!!

I have found that Heejun sounds much better if I close my eyes. Seriously...try it. I like the tone of his voice but he will never make it in America unless he learns to enunciate. Then again, he is pretty funny. maybe he should try comedic acting.

I really loved Deandre last week, he was one of my favorites. This week was horrible. I think he may garner some sympathy votes, because the judges told him Jimmy and Will steered him wrong, and because he just looked so darn upset about it!

Holly's accent sounds more Irish than English or Australian. I never cared enough to check!

Watched Joshua over and over, I was just mesmerized. Funny thing was I HATED his jacket and loved when he dropped it to the stage, it was perfect! I played it for my son (a BIG AI hater) and he was impressed! He agreed he is the next Donnie McClurken, who to my son is like ELVIS is to the south, so even if this AI thing doesn't work out, he has a future in gospel.

Apparently, it is a very "in" thing to do right now in Asia, especially in Hong Kong (I think?). I remember reading about it on the Wall Street Journal a couple of months ago.

PHIL: "Hard To Handle" I really like this guy, he's NOT original but I like his vibe. He looks VERY comfortable on stage and I like his vibe, a LOT. He looks like the guy you watch at a bar after you've had one too many!

JESSICA: "Turn The Beat Around" Love the tone of her voice, didn't love this song, maybe because I really cannot STAND Gloria Estafan..sorry if she has anymore fans. Still think she's a plant and WAY too much for her age. There is just something about her I dont' care for.

HEE JUN: "Right Here Waiting" The first thing you are taught in singing is NOT TO BREATHE thru it!! He breathed all the way thru it like a middle schooler in a talent show. BAAAD.


ELISE: "Let's Stay Together" I really like Elise, even though she looks like a soccer mom and not a 20 something kid. She has a nice smoky quality to her voice, but sorry, the POTUS has her beat!

DEANDRE: "Endless Love" I love Deandre but hated this song. He was a cute kid, though, wow!


SHANNON: "One Sweet day" Not a fan, never will be. I LOOOOVE this song and she brought nothing to it.

COLTON: "Broken Heart" Don't know the song, liked his performance. Something about him has not clicked with me, I don't know what it is.

ERIKA: "Heaven" I also like Erika's voice but this song was unremarkable. Hardly remember it, actually.

JERMAINE: Yo bro, you could go into rap because warrants and arrests are GOOD in that genre. Somehow it doesn't match a Disney song on AI.


SKYLER: "Love Sneakin' Up On You" She becoming predictable. I do like her a zillion times more than any other country act on AI, including UNDERwhelm, but last night was just ok.


JOSHUA: "When A Man Loves A Woman" Tore.ME. Up. Love this guy.


HOLLY: "The Power of Love" I just don't like this stiff wooden delivery girl. She looks like a deer in headlights. Very good voice, very well trained but booooooooooooooring!

I thought he would cry too. He did look very upset. I actually felt bad for him. I was not a fan, his voice is just not my taste in music, but I felt bad they felt the need to air that.
I think that should have been a private meeting. It made me feel very bad for him. everyone makes mistakes, and he should have just been open about his, dealt with his situations and maybe he would still be there.

I've noticed HeeJun's lack of lenses, too. Last night he didn't have lenses when he performed, but then later at the end of the show it looked like he had on slightly smaller frames that did have lenses in them .

"American Idol" this season has had a little bit of an international feel, and it's all courtesy of Hollie Cavanagh.

While Hollie lives in McKinney, Texas, you have probably noticed by this point that she has a rather distinct British accent. Where is this coming from? As per reports, Hollie's family hails from Liverpool originally, and there are still a multitude of people from her past who still live in the British city.

Hollie wowed the judges and America last week with her rendition of Christina Aguilera's "Reflection," and she went through to the top 13 without having to perform a "sing for your life" performance.

Man, a mixture of Texas and England. No WONDER I didn't get it!
