American Idol 2023

Tongi with the Homefield Advantage and the closing performance gets the win last night I think.

Iam was great. I loved his performance. He had a lot more energy than I thought he'd ever do. He seems so laid back and relaxed every time we've seen him. Glad to see he could shake things up a bit.

As for many of the others, there just seemed to be a lot of trying to be as loud as possible, with some making facial movements like they are having a bowel movement while being so loud. :headache: They need to study the music videos of Celine Dion singing My Heart Will Go On and Whitney Houston singing I Will Always Love You. Both can sing soft and low and when they hit the loud parts, no straining. Just talented and easy and natural (and trained) singing and so emotional. Both songs are of the most successful songs out. It isn't about just being loud. And the emotions shouldn't be the effort it takes to push out loud notes.

Anyone else feel that Ryan Seacrest seems like he is a lot lighter emotionally last night and tonight? He did after all just lose 98 pounds in the form of Kelly Ripa. :p

I feel like 90% of them are just screaming and not singing. Grates my nerves!

Was it Lionel that said parents were telling their kids it was time to get cereal during Nutsa's performance? or something very similar. I'm old but I get such a Charro vibe from her.

I still feel like the judges don't hear the same things I hear. I felt like one of the girls tonight was all over the place with her notes and picked the absolute worst song for her voice and they loved her.

I always feel this way about any of these types of shows where the judges or America think certain people are so great but I don’t see it and vice versa. The same with when I watch AGT.

Even that singing coach was telling Nutsa to do more singing and less 'performing' but I don't think she gets it. I agree that once the voting starts you can tell who the viewers like compared to those the judges seem to prefer.

The judges mentioned the show next Sunday will be THREE hours long which seems way too long to me. I imagine it will be 2.5 hrs of filler and then during the final part of the show reveal the top 20.

The dropout that allowed Paige Ann back into the top 26 was Beckett Rex. He is the 19 year old son of the actor Malcolm McDowell.

That’s the best thing that could have happened to Kelly Ripa. He’s was such an idiot on their show. Much better suited for Idol.

3 Dropouts this Season.

Just like Kenedi last year, very disrespectful to the Show unless emergency situation.

Either stick it out or don't sign up IMO.

I'm kinda bugged by the 2 kids with hollywood famous, wealthy parents. They have so many more opportunities than the average small town contestant. Why are they wasting spaces? Just my 2 cents.

I think the rules should be clearer on who is eligible to be a contestant. If you already are a pro singer and make your living singing, I don't think that was the kind of person the show was looking for. Apparently the rules aren't clear on that which is the reason some of those are still able to apply and be on the show.

Sara Beth Liebe.

She said she missed her kids and I also think the extremely rude comment to her by Katy factored in,but not an emergency situation.

If someone thinks there is ANY chance they will dropout, they should not enter to start with-stick it out!

Oh that's right! I forgot about her...and that awkward interaction with Katy
