Amazon

Nope didn’t see anything
If you get your package and it says "seller requires signature" or something similar then that was it (though normally they call that out on the product page or on the checkout page).

Otherwise I can only guess that maybe the delivery person didn't feel comfortable leaving it at your house due to theft or weather concerns. Normally though with all the purchases we've gotten sometimes they don't even ring the doorbell and the times they do they drop it off real fast and leave. They leave packages for us majority of the time behind one of our columns on our porch so it's not as visible from the street.

I just called amazon and asked why do I have to sign for it? They called ups and told them just to leave it on the steps. So annoying have to wait for a package.

I agree it's annoying to have to wait for a package. The last package we had delivered that went through UPS was ice melt we had bought from Amazon (though it was a 3rd party seller). It was on the truck at 7am Out for Delivery..good weather out too. Didn't make it to us until the next day mid-day...sat on the truck the whole time.

We are in a rural area so the simplicity of getting what we want at our door (especially in the winter with toddlers) is amazing!

Yep. I don't have toddlers, but if I don't want to or can't buy something at Walmart, I have to drive at least an hour to get to any other store. We don't have Target, Kohl's, a mall, or anything else in this town.

I ordered some milk bone dental treats. They tried to deliver yesterday but we wasn’t home. Don’t know why I have to be here the package was only 27 dollars. I order it all the time from chewy never had any problems. I’m new to amazon is there somewhere I check where they can just leave it on the steps without have to sign for it?
Where do you live? If no signature is required, it's up to the driver whether to leave the package. The driver is responsible if the package "disappears."

Some of the UPS drivers working my beat will mark packages as "delivery attempted - customer not available" (or "signature required") when they run out of time for the day and didn't really even try the delivery. Marking it this way makes their numbers look better than marking it as delivery not attempted. I've had it out with the local depot several times on this one. I know they aren't really attempting delivery because (1) there is never a notice left, (2) there is a big ole' sign on my door giving them a safe location where they can leave packages just steps away that all the drivers honor and (3) they never have a problem delivering it and leaving it in the said safe location the next day, even when I'm not home. I've even been home the entire day several times when packages have gotten marked this way...

So my guess is they will eventually deliver it in the next day or two, and no signature will be needed.

I had this issue with my mailman. My driveway is sort of long and if I had a package that wouldn't fit in my mailbox at the end of the drive, he would always put a card that it had to be "signed" for in the box. After going to the PO several times to get the packages and not having to sign for anything, I asked for the supervisor and told him what was going on. Now, my mailman pulls his truck up the driveway and leaves the packages at the door. I'm sure he was totally pissed that I "tattled" on him, but when I work, I can't go to the PO every time I order something - that defeats the convenience of ordering it online.
