I've had several recent issues with orders I've placed that have required my contacting customer service (due to my errors and clicking too quickly). All of my concerns were handled quickly and professionally. I'm an Amazon Prime member since its inception, so maybe that's some of it.

Just curious, what trouble are you having? They sent me a replacement phone when my phone wouldn't work. No questions asked even though my phone was outside the return window. Turns out it was my SIM card and I returned the new phone to them but they were great. Also, last week I received a kids book with no pages in it. lol. I had a new book the next day. I hadn't even sent the defective book back. Maybe you just dealt with a bad apple.

ETA, I have also been a prime member for about two years. Maybe three? Not sure if that makes a difference.

No issues with Amazon here. I bought a kindle fire over Christmas and it was dropped and they replaced it no questions asked. I was very happy wiht their response.

Have never had a problem with Amazon Customer Service. Actually, Amazon has customer service down to a science, it's rare that you even have to contact them directly.

OP, are you a prime member?

I actually had a VERY positive experience with Amazon customer service when I had to contact them recently about a truly awful experience with an individual seller. Contacted them twice and they were extremely helpful both times and dealt with the situation and the seller quickly and appropriately. Exchanges/returns have always been handled professionally in my experience as well - I'm a long-time Amazon Prime member and usually make several purchases a month.

What sort of troubles have you had, OP?

I've had nothing but overwhelmingly positive experiences with Amazon. I had a couple of products that I had to return to them (one my fault, one for a defective item) and I found them very easy to deal with, friendly and efficient.

I have had some pretty bad customer service from Amazon over the holidays. So bad in fact that I have pretty muched stop using them. I am a prime member but will not be renewing.

I've never had a problem that Amazon customer service was not able to resolve to my satisfaction while I was still on the phone with them. They've always been great to deal with.

I have been an Amazon customer from day 1, and have always had excellent customer experiences.

You really should provide specific information regarding your problem.

I agree.
They are even good when it's been my User error!

I hope they aren't slipping!

I've never had a single issue with Amazon in the years I've used their website. Most of those years were as a "regular" member but now we have Prime (and love it).

In fact, I've only ever had to contact Amazon once, and it was more of just wanting to "let them know" something, not to complain or anything. We received a blu-ray player as a gift from my parents from Amazon and they paid for gift wrapping so it would be a surprise. Well, the item was gift wrapped but the invoice that was supposed to be in a special "surprise" envelope (to keep the item contents a secret) was sitting right on top not in the envelope...with the price and everything! It ruined the surprise which wasn't a big deal since we are adults and all but I wanted to let Amazon know since it was right before Christmas and didn't know if it was just a fluke or if there were thousands of wrapped packages being sent off like that. They apologized for their error and gave us a $5.00 credit on our next order...totally unexpected but very generous of them to do. They have exceptional customer service in my book!

Also, they have never failed to deliver our packages by the estimated arrival date. We ordered a bunch of items last night (6pm our zone) and they are going to arrive tomorrow (Friday) even though they still haven't shipped out yet as of right now. So basically they are going to deliver our items in one day.

We LOVE Amazon. Great prices, great service, great shipping/returns.

The OPs post is pointless without examples. Multiple examples, actually, as the OP makes it seem like he/she has had multiple issues with Amazon customer service.

I'm a Prime member and I've never had an issue.

I've been a prime member for years and I order a lot around Christmas and various times through out the year. During Christmas when I thought I got my order all I had was an empty box. I called and they had one on my front porch the next day. Then other time was my son's fault he order the digital download of photoshop twice by accident! I called and I didnt' have any problems getting them to refund on charge back to me.

I've never had a problem with their customer service. Now finding that number to get them to call me is always difficult. :rotfl2:

I've always had good luck with amazon. I've shopped there for years and it is usually the first place I look for ANYTHING! They replaced my DH's kindle fire practically overnight when it stopped charging.

This week though I ordered an email gift card for my DD's birthday. They were supposed to deliver it to her on her birthday which was 2 days after I ordered it. They didnt and when I looked at my account at 11:30 pm it said "Not yet sent". When I looked the next morning the order had simply disappeared...no trace of the order, she never received it. I wasnt charged either but it was just odd, especially for amazon.

So I am kinda with you... 3 bad items in a minth The 1 st 2 I threw out, no call, cheap loysy items move on who cares...the 3rd was a 17$ can of formula. Here is the problem, the box wasn't damaged there was no shaking or other hard items in it in fact 3 other cans of formula holding it in place.... Meaning that sob went in the box dented!!!! Then, After sending me a dented can?????!!They wanted me to ship the dented can back. I get it I might be some punk just calling and trying to get a free can????? I guess but with 5 yrs hundreds a month and no returns ever why make me ship it back? I went from prolly 800/1200$ a month to only prolly 100$ over night. (Only when I need 2 day prime.) Back to Walmart for my foo, formula and diapers.
Walmart's.. (They shipped me finger paints 1 damaged ... Yes it is as funny as you think it might be!!!! Lol). I called no hey ship the broken finger paint back... Instead. Ohh wow so sorry we will send about her one out. ( and that one the box was beat up and evidently broken during shipping, as the stock guy did not load the paint in as damaged.)

I'm not the customer to cry, or whine or yell..., but I am the 1 that will take my $$$$ elsewhere.

Guarantee they ship that can again...

Well, were they going to pay for the shipping to send it back? If they were, then what's the problem with sending it back? That's the risk that you take for the convenience of shopping online, sometimes stuff needs to be sent back.

I'm not a Prime Member, never have been, and I have never had an issue with Amazon Customer Service.

The very few and very far between times I've contacted them I have been 100% happy with the resolution. Like a PP, one of the times was my mistake and they were still really helpful.

Amazon is the first place I look when I'm shopping online for something. :thumbsup2

We're Prime members too and I actually placed almost 300 orders in the last 12 months and my DH has placed even more than I have. I have never had any issues with Amazon customer service. I do think Prime members are happier customers because we get 2 day and overnight shipping. That makes me happy that I can get on my computer and order something (before 5 pm) and pay $3.99 for overnight shipping and it will be at my door by 6 pm the next day. Amazing to me!

I have had plenty of returns and they are always handled professionally.

Now I do know you get better return service if it is an item sold by Amazon and not an individual retailer. Usually it is a little more involved returning an item to them. Having to request the return and wait for a RA and address to send it back to. Then you have to pay for shipping. At least with a direct Amazon return you can print a label to ship it back.

I think without some specific instances of problems that would make us believe that Amazon is slipping it is really hard to take a complaint like that seriously.
