The red bean challenge was a problem because it was so random. You could get lucky and find it right away, or you could search for a really long time. It's like the hay bale challenge - which I think was in the same episode as the IKEA one. The Utah women were the first ones there, I think, but got unlucky and spent 8 hours unrolling hay bales. They never did find the clue.
Yeah, that really made me mad. I hate those that are just pure dumb luck. I liked the IKEA challenges because there was actual skill involved. They key one was just torture along with the red bean. Also the one in season 5 where they had to bite into chocoloate to find the one that was vanilla.

I also thought the Weaver Mom said she didn't want to go to the top because she didn't want to follow the Linzes up there. Kind of like she wasn't going to do it because they were.

Based on the quick clips they showed of the next season in February, everybody can rest easy.

They are going back to the standard, old couple, hot girl pair, gay pair, underdog pair, dad w/daughter, stereotype filled team format everybody knows and loves. :teeth:

Was anyone else surprised that the Linz boys did not have Meg do the trapeze task? Lots of people here observed Meg as being lazy, yet she seemed to want to jump at the opportunity to do the trapeze, and the boys just ignored her, and sent the HEAVIEST one up. Wouldn't she have been the obvious pick? :confused3
For some reason I got the impression that she might have had a health concern (like asthma or other unnoticable condition), because she seemed fit, but not able to run. Perhaps that is why the boys wanted to do it.

I kind of wondered that too...she kind of timidly raised her hand to say she'd do it, like maybe she knew she shouldn't.

I was a little disappointed that they didn't have a set number of road blocks each person had to do, like they do in the couple version. I think it makes it more fair if everyone has to do their part instead of always letting the stronger one do it, JMHO :)

ok I saw the Early SHow thi a.m.---did they have more than one segment?!? All I saw was the Linz's getting their $ w/Harry & Phil noone else around....where were the Weavers? Wonder why they were even invited? I think that's kinda rubbing it in theie face...unless all the teams were there - you know how Survivor has done in the past where all the teams are there for the final announcement....
Yes, first hour had all three of the final teams in the studio. The non-winning teams where also outside with the weatherman - including those eliminated earlier in the race.

CBS has a big party the night before where all teams (and some teams from previous races) watch the finale as it is aired. Posters on Television without Pity (mentioned a few pages back) also have a party (TARcon) and teams usually go there after the CBS party. The Weavers were the only team not to show up at the Tw/oP party.

Probably because of the kids (and the Weaver and Paolo teens are still kids).

I.

I thought the Paolo "teens" were in their twenties....

One is 16 and the other is 24, although they both act 16....LOL

I'm delighted with the outcome of this race! I think the Linzes are a terrific family, raised right. I have a couple of comments regarding some previous posts: Someone commented that during the last "golf cart altercation" with the Weavers' that one of the Linz boys called one of the Weaver girls "thunder thighs", but I thought it was Rolly who said that, and then one of the Linz's responded with "Rolly Poly". Also, the stadium task did NOT signal the outcome of the show for 2 reasons: 1) The Bransens actually left before the Linz family, and 2) the Linzes let the Weavers leave the airport parking lot before them, they were still looking at the map or clue (something in the truck) and said "let them go". I think they were afraid the Weavers would just follow them to the destination. They at least knew the CN Tower was that large, um, tower!

There was a couple funny comments, but I find those boring beyond the comments and can't wait till they cut to something else.
I'm with you. That's why I tape it on my DVR and just fast forward through these types of challenges.

That's what I thought too. Actually I thought it was a girl that said it and I looked closely and it wasn't Megan Linz, so it had to be one of the Weavers. I suppose it could have been Rolly though.

I think it is time to put this thread to rest.
Go right ahead. Some of us are still talking though.

I never get to see the first hour because our local news runs over it. They cut in occasionally when the Early Show has something "important" to talk about. But, never for any of the reality shows. It really makes me mad too.

Why?

There was enough stuff to keep me going till the next season in February. The people from Survivor and TAR are making the radio interview rounds now. I heard Danni the other day and she was her usual awesome (IMO) self. Anybody heard any of the TAR folks on local radio?

I can't fast foward because I want to hear the comments, but there is no reason to be focused on the screen. It's not like I'll miss the "action".
