Amazing Race, Family Edition. *Official DiscussionThread*

Was anyone else sad that Meagan didn't get to do the trapeze? She wanted to & her bros wouldnt' let her...& then I just LAUGHED when her brother kept missing - thinking served him right! WIsh they would have given her a chance...they should have just brought another brother along since they didnt' let her do anything...

Did anyone NOT like the fact the stadium was a catching up point? I do kinda feel that it was unfair - I mean that the game was completley won when those cards were pulled. Unless there was a major mistake & there really couldnt' have been from then on out it was chosen by the times they recieved. OH sure of course someone could have really messed up the map but there was gonna always be 2 teams neck & neck there - within 5 minutes - whichever 2 teams got those early times...anything could have happened I guess, someone falling or something to slow them down , but really it wasn't gonna happen & 'cause they had a guide on those boats they knew where to go.... I dunno..I kinda didn't like that the other teams were given the chance to catch up...it would have been better to see the Weaver still circling the stadium & the other teams come & go....or something of the sort.

I still don't get this. :confused3 The only time I ever heard the Linz's speak badly about the Weaver's was in response to something the Weaver's had done to try to sabotage them, or had said something rude them. I never heard them speak badly of any other team.

they said quite a bit...the Lonz brother went back to the other bros & Meagan saying it felt like Rollie pulled his backpack to make him fall....one of them said they hoped a houose fell on the Weaver mother...of course I can't rememer anything else @ the moment but there was always somethng said by the Linz....

I think the trick was in the stadium, the cards and the times, it was just luck. The boat thing was not a challenge at all, just fun.

All I know is someone posted a link to a betting article so I already knew the Linzes would win. An online betting site shut off betting for them according to the article. Same thing happened last year too with Uchenna and Joyce. I really hope these articles are NOT posted again. I was really mad when I read the article, I didn't mean to.

I saw it too, it wasn't even a link, the person posted it directly to the board, I wouldn't mind if it were a link because then I could choose to look or not to, but when it is posted right here you are going to read it.

I remember because I told the person to delete it after I already read it of course LOL

Yes, I understand that. But like I said, they only stuff I ever heard coming from them, was in response to something that the Weaver's said/did. The guy said it felt like Rolly pulled his backback...so what? If that was the case, then Rolly was being a little punk. You have to remember, these teams have been dealing with the Weaver's and their nastiness for 25 days, I am sure by then, it did not take much to send them off about them.

I was also replying to the people on this thread who have said over and over that the Linz's talk badly about other teams. That is what I don't get. They never had anything bad to say about anyone other than the Weaver's, and ONLY when the Weaver's were in their faces. Many times we would see the Weaver's in their car, trashing all the other teams. The Linz team never mentioned the Weaver's unless it was in reaction to something they did.

ITA! I think the Linz family had the best attitude out of everyone in this race. They seemed to have fun, and even when they did say something about the Weaver's they were usually laughing and smiling when they said it. The Weaver's have some issues,no doubt about that. I don't think there was one team that liked them, especailly as the race progressed. Mama Weaver preaching about being a christian made me sick only because she had nothing but nasty things to say about people in this race. I couldn't stand her. .

I liked Rollie too! The Linz boys seemed more immature than Rollie most of the time. I think people have forgotten some of the comments the Linz's made along the way. I liked Wally too! I wish the Branson's had beat the Linz's. I like to pull for the underdogs most of the time , and that would NOT be the Linz's.

Didn't the Bransen's win more legs of the race? From what I remember the Linz's only won one leg, other than the last leg. The Bransen's won the gas and a car from winning different legs of the race. I don't know if you can call the Bransen's underdogs. Wally and Meghan sort of canceled each other out. They seemed pretty well matched when you break it down.

As for the Weavers, they were much more mean spirited than the Linz's. I think Wally's comments about the Linz's being a testament to their parents at the end even proves that. The Linz's didn't make fun of the Paolo's father being a garbage man, they didn't make fun of the Godlewski's bleach blondes and fake ****s, they didn't insult the entire state of Utah. The Weavers did.

I also don't understand this. I have yet to see anyone back this up with a quote from something the Linz's said that was so rude or judgemental.

I would be crying if I heard another contestant say, "I wish a house would fall on the Weaver's mom", or "she has so many wrinkle's in her face".

Comments like that-rude-IMO! Everyone gets old someday. The Linz's made fun of little Carissa's family too. I think whenever the Linz's felt threatened they made rude comments.

I thought the house comment was hilarious and appropriate. Mrs. Weaver did seem to come across as a wicked witch. Commenting on someone's behavior is completely different than attacking someone's appearance or occupation as was repeatedly done by the Weavers.

I also never heard any of the Linz kids complain about things being fair or the task being too difficult. Even when their truck battery was drained, they just said that was the way things happened and they were going to work hard to catch up. The whining from the Weavers was really unnecessary and unbecoming. It was, afterall, a competition.

The house comment was the best!

I found it sad because the Weaver faimly, I think, honestly doesn't see that they are mean spirited. When you are the only team that isn't liked by the others, you gotta see that there is something wrong. Wake up Weavers!

So ... it's OK to be rude as long as you smile?

ITA! They also started to whine about the Weavers when they were about to pass them on the sidewalk with their golf cart. And then one of the Linz boys called one of the Weaver girls "Thunder Thighs" loud enough for her to hear as they passed. I am not a Weaver apologist. I didn't like them from the very first episode. But I am also not blinded by the Linz kids' wholesome good looks. The only team that was not openly nasty to another team was the Bransens and even they became a bit snarky at the end while "alone" or in front of the camera.

The stadium while a catching up point did not decide the race. Finding the CN tower, then finding the banner, then the sailing/shoe task allowed for "skill" to decide the outcome.

And then one of the Linz boys called one of the Weaver girls "Thunder Thighs" loud enough for her to hear as they passed..

But, what was it that happened with the golf carts? The Weaver's purposely blocked them.

I heard them very nicely ask the Weaver's if they were going to move over, and they said they were moved over, like what could be the problem? Like the nasty witches they were. So, when they had to squeeze past, I am sure their frustration forced them to respond somehow.

Again, no team was more rude than the Weaver's in this race. I would not of put up with it. Even the "sweet" Bransen's had some snarky comments about the Weaver's.

Were they Weaver's supposed to act like they did, and just get a smile and a nod along the way????

Turned out to mean nothing. The plane carrying the Weavers landed immediately after the ealier Linz plane. It would have been worse had the treated the stadium like a pit stop and they had to leave based on when they found the box int he center. The Weavers totally blew their lead driving around with no strategy.

Plus, since they were still looking for the ticket, they lost a lot more sleep than the other teams.

Actually that was the good part. It was great to finally see their lack of strategy hurt them physically. Usually it was just like the cart, time lost but no physical strain.

I read on another site that the Weaver girls babysat Carissa during the race. I think maybe one of the Bransens did too, but I'm not 100% sure about that.
Waht site do you read? Can you post a link? Does it have other behind the scenes info? I love those kind of details!

Most of the teams made comments about the other teams. Only one team claimed to be better people than the other teams.
