Amazing Race, Family Edition. *Official DiscussionThread*

Ummmm...... The Bransens were the ones involved in the mooning incident.

I'm pretty sure the Linz's know they aren't the 'best' at everything after all they only came in 1st once in this race, but it's no secret that they are a strong contender. They have not played a whiney, poor us race. I don't think they would have any regrets about how they won the race.

Ever notice that in all of the ARs where ppl are asking, I can't remember anyone saying they were in a race?!?! I wonder if there is a rule about that... but, I think that every time I see people asking for money and being looked at in such a harsh way.

I thought the Linz just mooned them did they do it back?---maybe I blocked that from my memory---ha ha!

Rollie is actually a name. I'm not sure if it his birth name, didn't look into it... but it is kind of an old name that you don't ever hear anymore. When I was a kid, I knew a really old guy with that name...

I agree w/you Sandy! Sure the Weavers have been rude but some of the others have been down right obnoxious! THe Linz& the Goldlewski familes have been the worst - the language - the mooning....so glad they sisters are gone--I agree w/pp pretty sad they couldnt' get along enough to try for 1 million! As far as teh Linz being "THE BEST" @ everything...they only do the physical challenges since they are the strongest in them...let's just toot our own horn some more, please! JUST plain obnoxious in my book.

Hoping that the Bransens will win, wouldnt' mind if the Weavers did, but I think the Bransens have worked hardest & gotten along the best, been steady the whole show...they deserve it - even if they call their dad by his 1st name! :confused3 Just gotta keep the Linz family from winning!

I guess you missed the Bransens mooning???? :confused3 And, I personally think Wally is a little grumpy.

Ok... So... I watched tonite's episode and I think I've caught up with all of the posts between last week and this week. :cool1: And, I have a few thoughts.

In the last few minutes, I've been thinking really hard about the Weavers... and why people don't like them. I've been one of those people, but I realized they are quite a bit like the G Sisters. They all just have real attitudes. Especially Michelle... omg, I hope this woman looks back and gets some serious face to face critisizm for her behavior. What gets everyone so riled up about the Weavers is that they don't see themselves for what they are. I come from a Christian family and went to Christian school and certainly don't expect Christian's to be perfect, but I think they aren't helping themselves by constantly hurting their image. I guess if they weren't Christians, they would just be "annoying" like the G Sisters.

Anyway, GO LINZ FAMILY! :cheer2:

I still really like them... and still for some reason can't stand the Bransens. I think they aren't really close to their dad. Maybe I'm wrong, but there is something there I don't like, and can't put my finger on. Also, Wally's true colors seem to be coming out now... grumpy old man.

As for the end, I couldn't have cared less who went... the sisters or the Weavers... either way... I'm good. I'm glad I won't have to deal with wanting to punch the TV next week...

Next week looks exciting! I'm interested to see what's up with Rollie and the Linz kid...it's getting "physical". I think Rollie is only 14 so it should be interesting.

That one Godlewski sister was so awful. I can't imagine she has many friends in life. She just seems like a mean, nasty person.

I really like the Linz. The Bransens are ok, Wally gets on my nerves sometimes, and the girls treatment of him really bugs me. The Weavers...what can I say. They are so hypocritical. I'd like to note 2 episodes ago when they only people who were nice to them and willing to talk where the "Desperate Housewives". They are so rightous and Christian yet a minute after the only people who are nice to them leave, they laugh behind their back.

I agree!! Can't stand them.

OK, the only time I ever heard that name was with "Rollie Poli Ollie", some cartoon my daughter watches....

I am right there with you Sandy22.

I just found this thread so I am coming along at the end of the discussion. I haven't seen anything in the Weaver's behavior that would suggest why they are so disliked. They are acting just like the rest of the teams. I always root for the underdog and since the Weaver's fit that bill, they are favored to win in my book.

I won't rehash it--but if you read carefully--there are a few episodes where we have discussed in detail precisely what the family did.

They were not always disliked and nor were the other teams always liked.

I think it looks more than it is. They appear to honestly have tripped each other up (as in not on purpose) and then it escalates--b/c probably no matter the age, boys will be boys.

I agree that is what it looked like to me....probably nothing like the build up about the hot air balloons

Not that I don't wish it were the Weavers, but I'm glad to see the Godlewskis go. They are just like the Paolos with the nasty little comments to each other. One of the differences between the Paolos/Godlewskis and the Weavers is that the former would pick on each other, not the other teams.

And correct me if I am wrong--the Paolo's saw the way they were and were shocked.

The Godlewski's are more "that's the way we are, oh well".

Maybe Wally is not grumpy - just tired. Its been a long race and hes not a spring chicken either.

The name Rollie is a nickname for Roland. And, in 101 dalmations, one of the puppies name is Rollie.

After watching previews, they try to make it seem like a fair race to the end, but I think the Linz family will probably win. It just seems like the strong athletic guys usually win the race, with the exception of a few husband and wife teams, but it is usually 2 strong guys.

I"m still rooting for the Weaver Family, I'll probably be called a bad mother also, but whene I travel with my kids-it has brought out the best in our family and the worst in our family. But my kids always talk about our road trips and the things we have done.

I'm rooting for the Linz or the Bransen Family. Both families are cohesive units with well-rounded members supporting each other. I have only seen good natured ribbing and competition in these families, unlike the Godlewski and Weaver families who seem quite mean-spirited.

I hope the producers area bit more careful with the editing in the finale because they completely gave away who came in last on this leg in the first part (last week). Nothing like watching a race and knowing the outcome

I think the Godelewskis were horribly irritating and mean, not necessarily to other teams but to each other. The one sister, Chris, was annoying, but they really picked on her. Glad they were eliminated.

The Linz's just annoy me too. They are mean and childish. Hope they come in third. It amazes me that people see them as otherwise, but I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

Wally Branson just looks tired. I am also a little shocked by how he talks to his daughters and they to him. It is very under the radar though, but I have really been picking up on it the last few weeks. Still, by default I am rooting for them.

And the Weavers.....Although unliked by many, I still think they were one of the strongest teams throughout the race. They deserve to be in the final 3. I am surprised at how well the kids are holding up. I hope they get second.

It should be an interesting finale.
