Does anyone think that this weeks catch-up spot was to allow for an equal playing field following the two production errors that happened tot he sisters and the Linz family. Part of me felt that under normal circumstances that the leavetimes would have been more staggered like the 15 minute times from the previous episode.

Not sure if it was put in there, but it might explain why the two teams were not given a time credit, they knew this was coming up, and it was a 12 hour wait for the 1st team tha arrived, they figured everyone would be caught up there, no need for a time credit.

I am happy that the sisters were eliminated. During the road block they couldn't even get along for a few minutes to do a simple challenge. They didn't show any remorse for their behavior either (uless they did on the Today show, but I didn't get to see it.)

Both the Linzs and Bransens are good teams and deserve to win, so I don't really have a favorite between them.

Another fan of the Linz family here. They just remind me of so many guys their age. (my sons and their friends?) Megan wants to win the race - so if brawn gets it done - she'll let the guys do it. The Branson family is a close second - I wouldn't mind if they ended up winning.

The Weavers were a favorite of mine at the beginning - but I just don't understand their attitude as the race has gone on.

Makes sense that there is a strong fan base for each of the remaining families - should be a great finale!

I highly doubt it was for production delays. I think they just figured that if there were any big gaps, this would catch up the teams. Plus, remember this was a very long leg, so they needed to have a sleeping time built in somewhere, which inevitably would lead to the teams bunching up again.
I would think that they have to have all this stuff predetermined long before the race airs in accordance with game show rules (which the AR and most reality shows fall under).

Out of all the teams that are left the only team I'm even semi-rooting for is the Linz family. Still can't stand the Weavers and am pretty much indifferent to the Bransens. :confused3

In order of finish:

The Bransen Family

You can see that the pressure is starting to get to them. They are starting to talk a little trash, something they hadn't done in the past. I can't blame them too much, though. It was a long race to the pit stop. Wally came through again, IMO. He added enough strength to lift the wagon and he was the one who said "Check the holes!" so they were able to find all the golf balls on the first try. First on the mat ... I wonder if each one of them gets a car, or if they have to share it. I am very happy they are starting out the season finale in first place. I hope they win.

The Linz Family

More of the same college kid stuff. Megan is going to roll her eyes right out of her head! The golf ball hiding in the hole cost them the lead. They seemed to take it OK and were not mad at each other. I still don't know why I don't like them better. I would be OK if they won.

The Weaver Family

These people are the Energizer Bunnies of the AR, They keep going, and going and going. I have to hand it to mom ... she picks the right Detour task each and every time. Her family works well together and they usually finish before other teams. I like that there that a family with kids is in the final three, although I would have preferred any other of the eliminated families with kids over the Weavers. I didn't mind that they sulked in their trailer. It was probably best for all the teams that they removed themselves from the common area. They really don't seem to get along with anyone. I don't want them to win, but I have to warn you that often my least favorite team wins. *sigh*

The Godlewski Family

At least I don't have to listen to them bicker anymore! Even their normal voices were beginning to grate on me. And then all the snarking at each other at the post-game interview. Sheesh!

And don't they have the "gas for a lifetime" as well to go with their car/s.

I can understand some of the bad feelings with the sisters. Just because you are family doesn't mean that you have to like one another.
I have a brother that although I love him, I don't like him. I would never be friends with him.
That being said I wish they were still in the race instead of the Weavers but Oh well. I'm rooting for anyone but the Weavers to win.

I agree that you don't always have to like your family. I don't get along with one of my brothers very well, but I wouldn't speak to him like they did to one another. They were just plain mean at times.

I am always amazed at people that go on TV. It seems to highlight any problems that people have. Maybe the sisters aren't that mean in "real life" but they sure come off as b****** on the show.

Did anyone see the Early Show. I'm just curious what the sisters had to say, or if they just repeated their mantra from last nites show.

I can definately see what you are saying about having older brothers. She just never seems interested in trying anything new or even offering to try a task :confused3 she very much seems like she is just along for the ride and the money and not really interested in the "participation" part of the race. Maybe that is how she was invited to participate - the brothers basically said come along as the 4th person and we will do all the work :goodvibes In which case I guess I cannot fault her ;)

Since they always choose the roadblocks that are meant for braun, then I think she is quite smart to not hold the boys back.

was wondering about the cars too - don't think Phil specifically said you all 4 get cars....

Speaking of gas--the Weavers are SO DEAD starting out this next leg w/ NO GAS sure hope they can make it to a gas station....

anyone wonder about how this show gets put together? I would love to know some of the behind the scenes things like stopping for food, potty, sleeping arrangements --though this race it seems like there's always been a place to sleep (camper/trailer, etc).
I like knowing how far the teams really are from each other - when the editing make it seem like they are minutes behind they really aren't. I can remember seeing the family that was kicked off after the civil war saying they knew they were last 'cause they were hours behind everyone else....
That kinda stuff would be so interesting to know - not to ruin the show wouldnt' want to know til after the epsiode or find out online about it or something.

Anyone else curious like me?

In general--they can catch up on food and rest during the rest stops.

Given the locale--I can understand why they are traveling around with campers. It was probably part of production planning anyway b/c children were involved...and while adults can fend for themselves--the show can only expose children to so much. So my guess is the campers were included a bit for the west/midwest portion to provide a reasonable accomodation outside of a pit stop.

Otherwise--outside of pit stops..they are all on their own to plan properly as they need to go.

I do wish they'd show the arrival time of the last team--so we can see exactly how close or not they were.

Did they not used to show at the beginning of each show the start time of each team?

I do not remember saying the typical AR start - the Linz family arrived at such and such a time and will be the first to leave at such and such a time.

Or I am just not paying attention to the beginning of the show anymore?

Oh yeah! With the camera focuses on the gas gage so much, I was hoping they'd run out of gas. (Remember in earlier races, the camera focuses on the "desel" in the gas cap. Sure enough, many teams put regular gas in, causing them problems.) :teeth:

The did not leave from a pit stop, this leg was continued from last week.

I remember that there was always a recap of the prior show at the beginning of each show -- even in the past versions of AR.
