Amazing Race 11 - All Stars (begins 2/18/07)

Can someone tell me what is elimination station?

If you go to CBS.com and click on The Amazing Race, they have bonus video each week that didn't make it onto TV. They also show a weekly video from "Elimination Station", which is a large house in Acapulco where the teams go when they get eliminated. It's fun to see the reaction of the teams at the house each week when they see who has been eliminated after them.

Thanks for the heads up on the Elimination Station. I had never been there before. I thought Drew's (?) comment about Mirna being a lawyer was very funny. "I could show up in court with a briefcase and be a better lawyer than Mirna."

Drew will be very sorry later on that he said that. I thought it was rude of him. Going to law school takes a lot of time and a lot of money

This week should be very exciting - waiting anxiously for it

Not only that, but I think I read in her bio that she graduated law school at age 23, which is quite the accomplishment because most people are graduating with their undergrad at 22 or 23. She seems very driven to succeed and is a hard worker.

Here is the text from her bio on the CBS website:

Mirna describes herself as hard working, a leader, but with a comical side. Her greatest achievement is obtaining her Juris Doctorate at age 23.

I like Charla and Mirna and would be very happy if they won. :cheer2:

I too am routing for Charla and Mirna!!

Go Girls Go!

I won't put down the other teams since they all have their strengths and weakness..my favorites by far are Charla and Mirna!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

According to a registry of lawyers that I saw, Mirna is an estate planner. I can't imagine she'd be a good at that, to be honest with you. I think I'd want to work with someone who's level headed and calm. Not some psycho drama queen.

For the record, I don't like Mirna, the racer, from the way she's been portrayed on this show. But, what would make you think she's a psycho drama queen in her law practice?

A lot of us probably think that we're level headed and quick witted, but given the constraints of the race, and the editing, we could also be made to look like bafoons.

I have no idea what she's like IRL, so I'll withhold judgment on that. As for the race, she's a psycho drama queen with a bad accent(s).

Maybe I'm a sucker, but I think she really is psycho and delusional, not just edited that way. Yeah, the stress and fatigue of the race could cause anyone to look bad on occasion. But she's just as nutty in some of the interviews.

I'm just saying that a dull practice like estate planning seems like an odd choice. I could see her as a public defender, maybe.

Who's to say what any of us would be like when put into a pressure cooker like TAR? Mirna is completely out of her element there. Even though she and Charla are not my favorites, I can believe that in her chosen field she could be very level headed and competent.

Wow. That's pretty harsh :(. I don't get either of those from her.

I am cheering for the BQ's but I don't really dislike any of the teams. I do believe they are doing better on the race than I would. I could do any of the eating or getting dirty or gross things but I would have a problem with heights so that would do me in. I would also have to go to the bathroom a lot so that would put my team behind.

Since my favorites Danny and Oswald are gone,I am picking up my DD5s favorites Charla and Mirna.

I have to give those ladies credit though-they busted their butts and deserve to be in the final 3!

And Mirna was correct when she said she has worked harder than any other one person on a team--the slack that she has had to pick up is probably more than most realize.

D&O have made this season memorable with their jokes and one liners! (("Oh my God the Teletubbies go to war""---this had me rolling!!))
I think they are great people because they have always been even players and show so much caring and compassion.
