Amazing Race 11 - All Stars (begins 2/18/07)

What a disappointing All Star ending. I'm mainly upset because they weren't an original team. I still don't buy out of over 100+ people that have been on AR they couldn't have found an original team to fill in that spot? And I'm sorry but Danielle wasn't worthy of All Stars. If Eric and his original partner had won, I'd be more accepting of it.

Out of 11 Seasons, the only Race I've been thrilled with the results was AR9 when BJ and Tyler won.

Edited to add when this race first started the *only* team I didn't want to win was Eric and Danielle. Figures.

Now I know how people feel when their favorite sports team loses. LOL.

I wish that instead of the final 3 having to pick what team was most overrated, that the eliminated teams had somehow had a vote - like they could have picked what team they thought deserved to win and that team got extra pieces to a puzzle or something. That would make it harder to win if you had been mean to other teams.

The flag finale was very good - very nail biting.

Yes, it was Jeremy, his partner from the first race he was in. I think they edited out much of that conversation. I too dont understand why Danielle didnt get a chance to speak to family?? She doesnt count? And I'm confused about their "status" couple or not? Are they just pretending for the show's sake? They didnt act like a couple, imo...Not that it matters. They were a team and they won! But still, I was rooting for Oswald and Danny all along...

I cant wait till the next season. I hope it arrives soon!

That was a bit of a bummer. Not only the team that won, but like someone else said, the whole show was anti-climactic. And it was only an hour. What gives with that. I guess it's good though because I would have been ticked sitting through two hours only to see that team win.

The final challenge was lame. If it had been more numbers with more time, or they had to drive themselves about 30 miles to the pitstop, then it would have been better. That would have given whoever finished first a head start but they still had to keep it together and not get lost. I hate tasks where it doesn't give a team that is only 2 minutes behind a chance to catch up. That was like that ending a few years ago where had to eat a pizza and go to the pit stop a block or so away.
The rowing challenge in Hawaii was great. You really had to work for that one! could you see David and Mary doing that! Or the diving for the clue as afraid of water as they are!?!
At least the good news is that Eric will think he is a millionaire but he really will only get about $300,000 after splitting it with Danielle and taxes. He will blow that in a week on a big party! And he will forget he has to pay taxes and end up in trouble next year for not having the money to pay the taxes on it! The BQs get $250,000 to share and at least now they do have the honor of being the highest finishing females on the race.

Seeing Jeremy tonight only reminded me how much I disliked them the first time around. Their career goal was to work as little as possible parking cars and waiting tables so that they could pay rent and party. Seems not much has changed.

And I'm confused about their "status" couple or not? Are they just pretending for the show's sake? They didnt act like a couple, imo...Not that it matters.

There was something posted on another board about them having been a couple after their season on AR, but they were drifting apart when they were cast for this and only stayed together for All Stars.

I totally agree. Basing the final leg of the race on a taxi cab is lame. It would have been better if they'd had to do a detour close to the pit stop and then run to the finish like AR9 did.

I'm disappointed in the outcome. Would rather have seen Charla & Myrna win over Eric & Danielle. I just knew when they showed E & D being delayed with the red lights and traffic they would probably win and the editing was trying to trick the viewers into thinking it was closer than it was.

I wonder if on that final challenge, could they only enter one set of numbers every minute or something? I would have been trying lots of different combinations one right after another.

I wish they had a thing like Survivor where they interview everyone for another hour after the finale.

So disappointing. I really wanted Dustin and Candace to win.

Or even Shmirna. Just not E&D. Bummer.

Very boring finale too. Hopefully next season is better.

I was trying to think up ways to 'change it up' a little next season. We know the family edition didn't go too well, with too many people on it.

Maybe:
-All girl teams, or all boy teams?
-Siblings only
-Couples only
-Strangers put together? Or maybe they start with their partner, and have to switch half way through the race or something. That would be wild!

Any other suggestions??

I am so sad. So very sad. I have been watching this show since day one and would have been happy if anyone else had won. I disliked E & D from day one. Very disappointing. They could have made the finale more of a challenge, it was over before we knew it. Oh well, I guess that's the way it goes sometimes. :sad1: I don't think I will watch this series next time.

Kind of anti-climactic. And Charla...honey you pick a number and put it in. It's not rocket science. She had this blank look on her face and I honestly think she was just randomly trying number!

I thought this was a short ending -- I wish they would have done one of those "this isn't the real pit stop -- keep going!" type of deals.

Or at least make them drive to the pitstop and choose an obscure location.

I had no idea that they landed at the Oakland airport for their final flight, with San Franacisco as the final pit stop. It's so funny to see familiar areas on a show like this.

That said, I never liked E & D - but I didn't really care who won this one. I, too, always thought the finale was 2 hrs.

I agree. I wanted E and D to win. They have really overcome alot. I really don't understand why everyone is upset that they won? The most offensive personalities out there were the blondes. I wanted anyone BUT them to win!

I also think they played hard to win.

I do disagree with you about the BQ's, what was offensive about them? They were always pretty respectful of each other and most of the time to everyone else. More than most of the couples. Tonight was the first time we ever saw them argue with each other.

anyway, I'll be happy when the regular Amazing Race is back on.

Very disappointed that Eric and Danielle came in first. I wanted the BQ's first, or even Charla and Mirna, but NOT E & D. Blah. I didn't like him the first time he played, even less this time. Boring finish too.

Someone was suggesting team types for the next one, siblings would be great I think!! I would love to see my DS and DD go 'round the world with "Amazing Race"!! :thumbsup2

I totally agree... I did not like the blondes. They always acted better and smarter then anybody else. They were just smug. Of course they werent worse then Rob and Amber...;)

I was also disappointed with last night's finale. :sad2:

First of all, the challenges and the whole show felt kind of rushed. Why wasn't it two hours?? And the race to the finish just wasn't that exciting at all.

And I really dislike Eric and Danielle. Eric is such a sexist jerk, and Danielle is whiny. As much as I don't like Charla and Mirna, I'd still rather they have won than Eric and Danielle!

I would have been trying every possible combination of numbers, it seemed like the BQ's and C and M weren't trying that. I think it would have been better if they had to drive themselves to the final pit stop instead of taking a taxi and maybe something a little harder to find. Did Eric and Danielle ever come in first in the other races this season? I didn't catch all the episodes.

How come Eric got to use Phil's phone & Danielle didn't?
Wasn't she part of the team?:confused3

Darn! My DVR didn't record for some reason and I was out of town. I'll catch up with the race online. I am very bummed to read that E&D won. I would have rather had either team win (including C&M) over them!

How was their reception at the finish line? Did the other contestants look happy or just polite?
