Amazing Race 11 - All Stars (begins 2/18/07)

I was both bummed and happy that there was a non-elimination round last night. I was bummed because I am ready to go to the final three. I was happy because Danny and Oswald are still in the race. The looked so sad in their interviews during the race I was sure they were gone.

I thought the Yield was pretty interesting. Did someone say that they can't beg now? Eric and Danielle were the correct team to Yield. It is a testament of their racing ability that they managed to arrive at the mat second even after being Yielded TWICE. I also thought it was interesting that the BQs owned up to the deal with the other players. It was smart of them to be straight forward about it and not try to hide it. However ... did you notice that the story changed when Charla and Mirna told E&D what happened? They said that the BQs offered the deal instead of D&O.

I would love to be a fly on the wall at dinner that night!

And, I have to disagree about the BQ's being straighforward. No, they didn't hide the fact that it happened, but they lied to E&D when they said they told D&O to choose for themselves which team to yield. Gutless wonders. Hey, if you're gonna admit to doing it, you might as well be honest about the whole thing.

I really wish cbs would put these episodes online. Every week there is something that I want to go back and rewatch to clear up questions. I guess I'm going to have to break down and get Tivo.

Anyway, this is from the recap on cbs:
"Arriving at the Macau Tower in the early light of dawn, Oswald & Danny found the doors to the looming structure closed until 10:00am. With some time to ponder their dire financial situation, the best friends realized they only had 16 dollars to their name. Just then, up walked two dollar signs by the names of Dustin & Kandice. Since the beauty queens already used their Yield, Oswald & Danny proposed a cash payment from them in exchange for the best friends yielding whomever Dustin & Kandice wanted. The two Teams negotiated a price of 45 dollars for Oswald & Danny to Yield Eric & Danielle, who already were marked for elimination when the tower doors opened. With a pang of guilt, Oswald told his partner, "I feel nauseous for doing this. I'm not happy.""

So, it looks like D/O did make the initial deal, but D/K decided on who was to be yielded.

Yes it was definitely D&O who offered it. The blondes arrived at the location and D&O joked about how they were going to yield them but then they say we actually have a deal for you with the yield. The other 2 - I don't have a preference as to which ends up 2nd/3rd. Both are just as awful as the other Charla and Myrna saying "it was a matter of life/death" to get to an airforce base And the way Eric treats Danielle too
