Amazing Race 11 - All Stars (begins 2/18/07)

Does the 12 hours for the pit stop start as soon as you check in? If so, it would seem that the front running teams would be getting ready to leave when the guidos and terri and ian were arriving.

Yes the 12 hours starts from check-in time. Charla and Mirna had a long time to wait for the ferry. They (and Cha Chas) left at 5 am. The Guidos ferry left at 8pm later that day. So assumming they did all tasks within the same general time frame I'm sure C/M and Cha Chas have already left the pit stop. Not really sure about the second round of teams though. They would be very close because I think their boat left at 8am.

Seems like they would want to do something to even up the teams somewhat and not have some a day or more ahead of the others. Maybe that's just wishful thinking so C&M won't continue to be in first place!

I'm sure they will set something up where there is a lot of waiting around in the next leg, in order to even it out. I really can't stand C & M so they need to go!

I miss Rob and Amber. :(

Gawd, those fake accents are just ridulous! What in the world do they think they are accomplishing w/ them?
This may sound silly to those who have never experienced it, but they may not be aware they are doing it. I had a friend who used to do the exact same thing. It used to drive us all crazy, not to mention it was a bit embarrassing. One night we were in a pub here in town and our waitress was a girl who was from the UK. My friend spent most of the night with a slight English accent, until one of our group, fortified by a couple of pints, told him to "stop talking like a <censored> BBC announcer".

My friend seemed genuinely shocked and said he didn't realize he was doing it. I wonder if it happens with C/M due to stress, or if they are doing it without thinking when they are around people from other countries who have accents. Maybe they think it will help them be understood better. Kind of like the type of people who think they will be understood better if they yell to someone who doesn't speak English. :confused3

I miss Rob and Amber. :(

I agree, I miss them too. Lots.

Cha-chas are funny tonight.

I like the Girls too, wish they would get to the front of the line.

Wish Teri and Ian would have beat out the Guidos. Don't like them.

Charla and Mirna have GOT to go. They irritate me to death. I actually really liked that there was some real separation between the teams tonight. I think when they get all bunched up, it takes away a lot of the drama. I'm rooting for the bq's and J and U.

Great show this week. Although they are my peeps, I don't care for "team Guido". Not really liking their style. I'd have to say that tonight's show was probably the best of the season, so far. It's the first time that I've ever seen airport situations cause so many problems for so many teams.

Mirna & Charla, love 'em or hate 'em. They are fun to watch. Danny and Oswald are great. I also love Erik and Danielle, although I'd rather watch him with Jeremy. Erik doesn't take any crap, but he's not totally rude about it. He just doesn't take it.

Alot of people are wondering if the producers will try to even everything out next week. Since the race is mapped out ahead of time, there really isn't anything the producers can or would to to affect the race itself. But, since next week's show is 2 hours, I'd be willing to bet it will include an extended leg with no pit stop. Those are usually pretty interesting and they tend to create a more even playing field.

Can't wait. Like I said, you can love or hate Mirna and Charla. Just be thankful TAR doesn't have a Sanjaya.

Curious. Why is next week 2 hours?

Never liked Mirna and Charla... guessing I am not going to this week either...

OMG! That was such a great leg! I think my favorite part was when Donny and Oswald were getting into their vehicles at the start of the episode and were doing a Santino imitation of Tim from Project Runway when they learned that the driver's name was Andre. :lmao: That was funny. I can't believe that production didn't secure spots on the flights for the teams as they have done on other legs. The timeline for the next episode is going to be CRAZY!!! I can't believe that we didn't see the first times checking out while the others were checking in. I loved when Charla and Mirna didn't know what their prize was. :rotfl: I'm sure that after Charla's experience on the ferry she will probably be selling her prize! ;) :rotfl2:

When they showed the preview for next week, Phil said it was a two-hour show. But judging by the scenes, it won't be a "recap" show. I believe the last time they did a 2-hour show, mid-season it was one of those extended legs where the teams have to "meet Phil at..." as opposed to "go to the next pit stop." When they see Phil, he tell them that the leg is not over and gives them their next clue. I'm pretty sure that's what will happen next week.

I'd be willing to bet that "Desperate Housewives" will be back "new" next Sunday and CBS wants to use TAR to compete against it. I sure hope so. Because after all of the "housewives" repeats, they deserve a real rating spanking when they return.

Last night's elimination station video was interesting. When Teri and Ian arrived Ian had some pretty negative things to say about Danny and Oswald. He said that "they had no character or honor".

"A disgruntled Ian revealed that he believes that Danny and Oswald are ruthless racers with no character, saying that when he worked with them in Ushuaia to book flights, they deliberately booked him a different flight and did not confirm it. He says that the same thing happened when Eric and Danielle worked with Danny and Oswald in Maputo; both of these incidents were not shown on the show."(from wikipedia)

I wonder why CBS chose not to air that part of the race.

Here is a link to that video:

I agree! Best part of the show. It had me rolling!! :rotfl2:

I didn't like the show. :sad2:

The huge lags in getting on the plane gave away the show right away.

I can't wait to see Charla in the knight suit falling down. Now that's good TV. :lmao: It would be even better if both of them were falling down.

Last night's episode was kind of boring - there was such a lage between temas that we FF through the last 30 minutes or so just to see what order everyone came in.

DH is showing a new show next Sunday. That's what I thought when they said TAR was 2 hours. Confirmed it at the end of DH during the previews of next week.

The difference is that your friend was speaking with a British accent to someone from the UK. C/M use accents that have nothing to do with the country they are in.

Given the previews for next week, I wonder what accent a Knight uses? I'm sure Charla and Myrna will know :)

I nover notice the Chmirna accents. I too busy being shocked by the rude things that come out of their mouths.

I do have to give them credit on this last leg though. Taking that first flight turned out to be a very good move. Mirna also did very well at the challenges.
