Amanda's Menu Planning Spectacular!

What a great-sounding wedding! I hope you didn't have to wear those funky platform shoes (what were we thinking back then????)! You see, I'm old enough that I lived through the 70s (born in 1964). ;)

Your mental health day sounds like just the thing after your crazy schedule in October!! Relax, dear Amanda, and don't worry about tomorrow - it'll get here and you'll handle what comes with your usual humor and grace.

For now, just enjoy the gift of today - that's why it's called the "present". ::yes::

I hope your legs feel better soon. The walk/run tonight will probably be tough at first but your muscles may actually appreciate the stretching and moving in the end. Just think how strong you're becoming, you Jock Athlete princess: !!

Don't know if I'll get a chance to PM you today - believe it or not I'm planning to WORK at work and not do so much DISing. :jester: Yeah, it's a new month and I'm trying to turn over a new leaf - go figure. :teeth:

I'm WISHing you a wonderful day, princess: Amanda!

Hi Amanda,

The wedding sounds like it was a lot of fun. I bet you did some dancing, and that counts as exercise too!

I think you are starting your month out right. A nice relaxing day is just what you need. Enjoy your run tonight, but be careful with your legs. Shin splints would kill your training schedule. Be sure to do LOTS of stretching. Ok, I'm out of Mom-mode.

Have fun today,
Beth

It sounds like your weekend was a blast; it was great that you had yesterday to regroup. Now it's a new week for you, Amanda, and you can choose to make it a healthy living day. Treat yourself right!

Also, remember to warm up those legs before you try to stretch them out. You don't want an injury, princess: Amanda.

:sunny: and :D ,
Erin

:wave2: Good morning, princess: Amanda! :wave2:

I wish you a safe and stress-free re-entry into the world of work. Here's some extra stress-busting :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: to sprinkle on your desk, your co-workers, your computer, your phone - any area at work that needs more happy and less stress. :p If anyone sneezes, you'll know they've inhaled a bit of :wizard: !! :teeth: :hyper: :teeth:

Did you get your 2 miles in last evening? DH and I walked after he got home from work. I felt energized afterward and did the dishes. :hyper: Amazing what a little exercise can do!

I hope you had a wonderful, relaxing day yesterday and I hope your day today is filled with smiles and sun!

Hi Amanda,

I am just sending some :wizard: to help you back into your day at work. I hope everything runs smoothly and you are not lost under a pile of paperwork and emails.

Take good care of you today!
Beth

Good Morning! I must say that I have an excellent assistant who went above and beyond yesterday. It only took me about an hour to catch up on everything. :teeth:

Got up early this morning and Voted so that is done. Now I just have to sit back and watch the numbers.

Yesterday was good. I slept for about 15 hours yesterday and I know I really needed the rest. We ended up not walking yesterday because of the rain. Tonight we are planning on walking unless Brian works to late - then it will just be me walking.

Goals for today:
Water - 8 glasses
Vitamin - done
Food - under 55 carbs
Exercise - walking

Plan for today:
B: 1/2 crossant w/ham, eggs, and cheese - 15 carbs
L: Salad
D: I am cooking Beef Stew in a crockpot today. If I avoid the potatos the carbs shouldn't be to bad.

~Amanda

Be careful walking tonight, Amanda. It was cold, wet, slippery (too many leaves on the paths), and really windy when I walked today at Queeny Park! Brrrr.. I kept thinking that today's walk could have been perfect marathon training weather, if it is cold, windy and wet in WDW on January 9th. ;)

Your Beef Stew sounds perfect for a day like today! ::yes::

Where did the warm weather go Geetey? I guess it couldn't last forever!

Yesterday was an interesting day. Dh came home looking beat and struck a deal with me that if he could relax last night that we would walk on Friday. I agreeded but he better have his butt ready to go on Friday! I did fairly well food wise except for the 2 pieces of Halloween candy I ate - AUGH. I hate having that stuff in the house! Otherwise food, water, and exercise were all good yesterday. For exercise I did 20 minutes of weights for upper arms and some ab work.

Goals for today:
Food - 55 carbs
Exercise - 2 mile walk
Water - 8 glasses
Vitamin - DONE:sunny:

Plan for today:
B: half a ham and cheese sandwich - 8 carbs
L: Either leftover Chicken Breast and a Salad or Sausage and Cheese w/Honey Mustard.
D: Leftovers - DH will have Chili or Stew whichever he prefers. And I am going to make Hot wings with Ranch Dressing

~Amanda

Hi Amanda,

Your plan for the day looks great. I'm sure you will get DH on the track Friday. Just be stern. If that doesn't work, use guilt.

I can hear you about the cold. They are forecasting snow by Friday. Katie is thrilled. Mom not so much. Brrr.

I hope you stay warm and have a great day,
Beth

Amanda - a woman with a plan!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Stick to the plan and you'll see results for sure!!

Seriously, you're off to a good start this month Amanda. I am proud of you. ::yes::

Have a great day!

Amanda, that beef stew sounds delicious - perfect for these cool autumn days! I'll try to remember to send you the pumpkin custard recipe if you try to send me the beef stew recipe, OK? :p

I'm proud of you for doing your weights & abs last night! You could've slacked off totally but you did it! Your body WILL reward you if you keep it up! ::yes:: Your poor DH - he works such long and tiring hours! I know that feeling of being totally exhausted when you get home in the evening. Maybe he could take a quick power nap & still get the workouts in?

Oh, and the best solution to the Halloween candy at home?? Take it to work for your coworkers or send it to work with DH to share with coworkers!! It's so hard to stay away from when it's in the house.

Hope today goes well and you enjoy your 2 miles!! ::yes::

LOL! Doe I bought the beef stew in the frozen food department at my grocery store. I can't remember the brand but it came with all the stuff in it and then all you had to do was throw it in the crockpot on low for 8 hours. :)

~Amanda

Hey, that's MY KIND OF RECIPE!! Yahoo!! If you remember the brand, let me know!

I keep forgetting to reply to your PM  - I'm off to do that RIGHT NOW!! ::yes::

Brrr.... all we have is rain, rain and more rain! Yuck!

Be careful if you walk outside. It doesn't look like things are going to get any better this evening. My long walk is tomorrow so I am hoping for sunny skies for both of us! :sunny:

Good Morning! Well we did get our walk in last night but only about 1.5 miles because it started to downpour!:umbrella: Still I'm feeling good.
Recap for yesterday:
B: half a ham and cheese sandwich - 9 carbs
L: Slices of Sausage and Cheese - 4 carbs
S: Piece of Halloween Candy - 12 carbs
D: Applebees Riblets - YUMMY! I got the tangy BBQ sauce and I am still looking to get the nutrtional information. But considering I had 30 carbs left at this point I don't think I went over them.
Also I had 3 cheese sticks - yummy.

Water could have been better I had between 4 and 5 glasses.

So I rolled over my bear because even though it may not have been perfect it was pretty darn close!

Plan for today:
B: half a ham and cheese sandwich - 9 carbs
L: Left over Riblets
D: We are going over to a friends for Pizza tonight and to look at their pictures from Paris.
Exercise: If we don't get home to late I'll do my weights and ab work.
Water: 8 glasses

Later gator!

~Amanda

:wave2: Hi, Amanda! I hope you're having a good day. Are you drinking your water? What number are you on?:drinking1

Erin

Hi there Amanda,

I hope your day is going well. I like those riblets as well. Have fun with your friends tonight.
Beth

Night from H*ll! We got to our friends house at 6pm figuring we would order pizza shortly there after. Well the one guy ran late from work and didn't get to the house until 7:30 which is when we FINALLY ordered the pizza. At 7pm I finally said - can we have some snacks I'm starving. Cheeze-its and chips were provided. I gorged I was so hungry by then I couldn't stand it. I think I also drank 3 glasses of red wine during the evening. So it was just not a good evening food wise.

Goals for today:
Do what I can do.
Exercise - 2 miles tonight
Water - 8 glasses.

~Amanda

Geez, don't you just hate that?!! You have it all planned out and then you can't eat when you want to. . .it leaves you so vulnerable and HUNGRY!!!:p Oh, well, you're on to a new day, princess: Amanda. I know you'll make the most of it.

 ,
Erin

Boy, I feel your pain. I had a late pizza dinner after getting home last night too. Starvation had already set in - not a good place to be when carbs abound. :p We both did the best we could, Amanda - no regrets, OK? We're NOT perfect - how boring would THAT be?? :teeth: :hyper: :teeth:

Your plan for today sounds good! Hold your head high and walk with pride! Show the world the princess: that lives inside you! ::yes::
