Amanda's Menu Planning Spectacular!

2 Bounces for 2 Miles!!
Way to go!! You got that workout in!! So far we're both on track with the training schedule!! I only WALKED my two miles but I did it at race pace so it was a successful workout for me.

You're lifting weights tonight?? On your REST day??? Hmmm, I could do my Pilates workout at home this evening. It sure would feel good to work my muscles - I love that slightly sore feeling after a good workout! OK, Amanda, I'll do my Pilates if you lift your weights!

Your menu for today sounds yummy! :sunny:

Hope your Tuesday is a happy one! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

You posted in my journal that you lifted weights last night!!! You ROCK, girlfriend!!!
:cheer2: :cheer2: WAY TO GO! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Today we'll be walking 2 miles - no matter what!! I'm also going to do 20 minutes of the Pilates that I DIDN'T do last night. It will probably feel good after walking to stretch out on the floor and do the Pilates. I hope you're remembering to stretch!! Building muscles is a good thing, but you've gotta stretch to keep yourself flexible!

Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday and an enjoyable 2 mile workout! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

I love  lifting weights. It is time consuming and while I'm doing it I can think of a million other things I could be doing, but when I'm done I feel great. My scale is not budging but I look smaller and I am sure it is because of the weights. Have a great day.:D

Good Morning! I actually got a lot accomplished yesterday which has me feeling really good today. I forget how much energy you can have when you fuel your body correctly.

Funny story - so I'm in a wedding next weekend and the girl decided back at the first of September to change the shoe color from silver to navy blue. 1) I had already bought a dang silver shoe and 2) It is hard to find navy blue shoes! Well I've been so busy lately I completely forgot about the shoes until last night. I went to a couple of stores and finally just ordered some dyed shoes from Payless for $42.00 and they weren't even that great of a shoe! Meanwhile they could only gurantee that I would have the shoe in 10 business days and there are only 8 business days between now and the wedding! So I'm all stressing out about trying to get shoes and when I got home I started searching the internet. After an hour of searching I decided to try www.Chadwicks.com and found the perfect pair of shoes and even with express shipping they only cost $27!!! What a deal! So now I have to go by Payless to have them cancel my shoe order. *sigh* Only one more wedding!

Goals for today:
1) Food 55 carbs - check
2) Exercise - 2 mile walk - check
3) Water - 8 glasses of water -
4) Cancel order at Payless - check
5) Oil Change - Check

Plan for today:
B) half a ham and cheese sandwich - 8 carbs
L) Turkey Sausage, Cheese, & Honey Mustard - 5 carbs
S) Peanut Butter Taffy 6.6 and Coffee - 5 carbs
D) Cheese and Broccoli soup and Ceasar Salad - unsure of carbs
S)4 honey mustard chicken wings and some pizza toppings (12 carbs)
Exercise) 2 miles

I am not really looking forward to this dinner tonight. HAve you ever had a friend where the friendship meant more to them then it did to you? That is kind of what this is like. We really like these guys but lately they have been more stressful then they are worth. And sometimes it just seems so odd. Like yesterday when we made the plans he emailed me that he was so excited he was having trouble working. Okay, I just saw you last week for lunch and we are just meeting for dinner - nothing special. So chill. And then yesterday he really ticked me off because he was talking bad about my Cardinals (he is from Chicago). I really hope the Cardinals win this game today so I can go to this dinner without having to hear how he is so glad the Cardinals lost.
 It is just super annoying and I kind of let him have it the other day. So I'm feeling very :yo-yo: about even going tonight. And I would cancel but I am suppose to be getting his house keys from him so we can watch their cat while they are in Paris next week. *sigh*

Okay well I've rambled long enough and our system is finally working so I should get :moped: to work.

~Amanda

Glad you had a great day yesterday and that you found the blue shoes you need!!! :sunny:

Wish I had some words of wisdom about your friends. Hopefully dinner will be fun and enjoyable, without too much baseball talk.
:p If controversial subjects come up, just politely decline to talk about them and change the topic. Good luck!!

I'm looking at the weather forecast - looks like my DH and I will be walking in the cold and drizzle this evening. Doesn't matter - I'm determined to get this walk in! ::yes::

By the way, DH and I are on the same wavelength politically. The intense discussion last night had to do with his family, who are all of the opposite party persuasion. This would be fine with DH if he felt they had thoroughly researched and thought through their positions, but he feels they are listening to campaign rhetoric and being led like sheep. We'll be voting to cancel their votes. :teeth:

Have a wonderful walk Amanda! Keep working on those goals!!:teeth: Your gonna see great things if you keep this up!!::yes::

What a night to be a baseball fan! Cardinals force game 7 which is tonight and the Red Sox beat out the Yankees! FANTASTIC! Of course it means another stressful night of watching the Caridnals and praying they make it to the World Series!:smooth:

My dinner last night with my friend went better then expected but I am glad they are going out of town for awhile. I know that is probably mean but I need a bit of a break.

I am going to be in training all day today at work. Which means I am going to limit my water intake during the day a bit since I won't be able to get up and go to the bathroom that easily.

Goals for today:
Food 55 Carbs
Water - 8 glasses but save most of it for at home
Exercise - another 2 mile night tonight!

Plan for today:
B)Eggs & Cheese - 3
L)Leftover Chicken Wings (I have 6 left est. 3 carbs per piece)- 18 carbs. Plus a veggie
S)If needed I'll get some peanuts
D)I haven't had a chance to decide yet - it is still really early here.
Exercise) DH will probably leave work at 5pm today and we will go running right after work so we can be home for the game!

I'm going to ASSUME that you got your 2 miles in last evening......you did, right?????

Glad you're enjoying the baseball games - not a big deal in our house to be sure but it is fun when you're passionate about a sport and a team!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cool1: :cool1: :cheer2: :cool1: :cool1: :cheer2: :cheer2:
Look - all the cheerleaders are cheering for you & Brian and for Todd and I! We're doing great with our training so far! You can bet I'll be getting my 2 miles in this evening! ::yes:: WOO HOO!!

Enjoy your day!! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Hope your team makes it. I know the stress (Cubs last year) and excitement of watching your team. At least we had a good run with the Bulls and that was a blast!

Hi Amanda,

Congrats for sticking to your training schedule. You are doing a great job. Have a great time watching the game.
Beth

Oh ladies - I did not do well today at all. Well it could have been worse but it was not good

B: 2 eggs w/ cheese and Milk - 14 carbs
L: 1/2 bowl french onion soup and a salad 15 carbs (estimated)
S: 2 Resses Pieces Butter Cups (this is what did me in) 24 carbs
D: Sausage and cheese - 5 carbs
Total: 58 carbs

And even if I was still under the 55 carbs I would not count this as a cheat free day due to the 2 reeses peanut butter cups!
:duck: AUGH!

Walk is done, although I'm not sure it was quite 2 miles since we were not able to go to the track and DH and I argued the entire time we walked. It has been a long day. I'm off to cheer on the Cardinals!

~Amanda

CARDINALS WIN! CARDINALS WIN! GO CRAZY FOLKS! GO CRAZY!

:jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1:
:thewave: :thewave: :thewave:
:rockband: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :rockband:

Is that crazy enough???? :p
Glad your Cards won - and best wishes to them in the Series!

You got your walk in - that's good! It seems like it brought you more stress than stress relief though. :( Maybe it's good that today is a rest day?? I hope by tomorrow that you & your DH are on better terms and can really enjoy the 3 miles.

So, here we go into another day, dear Amanda - a fresh start. I'm sending you a  and some good :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes . It's Friday!!!

Good Morning!:Pinkbounc What a crazy evening! St. Louis is literally bouncing off the walls:bounce:

Okay I need to focus - although I can tell you no one in my office is working this morning. LOL! We were invited over to a friends house for homemade spaghetti tonight! YUMMY! So I am going to be extra low in carbs during the day so that I can enjoy some tonight. They will also have salad and a veggie so I won't be eating just Spaghetti. And I will not allow myself any bread or rolls!

Goals:
Eat very low in carbs during the day to save room for spaghetti tonight.
Water - 8 glasses
Exercise - Weights and Abs
Go to grocery store and pick up Veggie Tray, toothpaste, and stuff to make punch, and soda
Go online and find a punch recipe
Pickup kitchen, living room, and bathrooms

B: 1/2 ham and cheese sandwich - 8 carbs
L: Chicken Ala Amanda - 5 carbs
S: Peanuts - 5 carbs
D: Spaghetti and Salad

~Amanda

Stick with the plan Amanda and you'll do fine! ::yes::

I feel some many positive vibes in your journal this week. I am very happy that you are in a good place, focused on healthy living. Lets keep this momentum up okay?! :smooth:

Have a great weekend. I hope it is :sunny: so you can do your marathon training outdoors.

Since I am a die hard Yankees fan, I'll say "Lets Go Cardinals!!!!":teeth: I'd hate to see the Bambino's Curse broken!!

Way to go Cardinals! :Pinkbounc This is going to be a great World Series!

You have been doing a great job with your marathon training, Amanda! I bet all of that training burned those Reese Cups off right after you ate them.::yes::

Your dinner with your friends sounds like fun! I hope you have a wonderful, relaxing time.::yes::

Have a great weekend, Amanda!:sunny:

Hi Amanda,

I had a feeling that you would be pretty happy today.

Your plans for this evening sounds like fun.. Enjoy a relaxing evening in the company of friends. You might want to check out foodtv.com. I got a goos punch recipe from there last Christmas. Of course, I couldn't find it this morning when I was looking for it.

Beth

When I saw a fellow St. Louisian posting on the Journal boards, I had to stop by and say HELLO!! Was game 7 exciting or what?!?!?! I *was* going crazy!! LOL!! I think I even stressed some extra calories off just following these games!!!!!!! ::yes:: :hyper:

You are doing great with your marathon training, Amanda! It is nice having a specific plan to follow. I find it easier to stay on task and to know I am doing the correct things.

Tomorrow night should be fun!

LET'S GO CARDINALS!!!

Friday was good - it wasn't perfect and I slipped up a little at dinner but otherwise good. Saturday I was completely off program. Want to know what I had for breakfast - cupcakes! We did do our 3 miles on Saturday and that was very very hard. I just don't think my body was awake enough to go running yet. I am going to try very hard to be back on program today. Breakfast and Lunch will be at the house so I will have no excuses as to being off program. Then dinner will be at my aunts and she is making chili and hot dogs. We are having a trivia challenge with my cousins this evening. So it should be fun!

I am going to do my weights and abs this morning and try to get the old metabolism pumping again.

The bachelorette party was another success. The murder mystery game was a lot of fun to play and my friend really enjoyed it. This coming week is another fun filled week of wedding activities!

~Amanda

:wave2: Amanda,

So have you thought about being a personal party planner. Your patries sound like so much fun. Cupcake for breakfast is exactly what Katie asked for this morning.

Great job staying on your training schedule. You are definately going to do great at marathon.

I hope your Monday is a good one, and I'm sending :wizard: to help energize you through the wedding activities.
Beth
