Amanda's Menu Planning Spectacular!

:sunny: Good morning, princess: Amanda! :sunny:

It feels like a 3 mile kind of day, don'tcha think???? :teeth: NO MATTER WHAT, I'll be walking my 3 miles tonight. No more slacking for me! I hope you and Brian will get a chance to walk / run tonight. We're within 60 days of the half so we've gotta get out there and train! ::yes::

Best wishes for a wonderful Wednesday! :sunny:

Definately a 3 mile day! I'm looking forward to it tonight - it is suppose to be a little bit warmer then usual. Number one item on my shopping list right now is a stopwatch so that I can time our walks.

I woke up this morning without the usual sense of dread. It is hard to explain but eating has been such a struggle for me lately - and the constant guilt wasn't doing anyone any good. So it felt good to wake up this morning and know that I didn't have to worry about that today. And then you know what I did? I had a good breakfast! LOL! Half a ham sandwich on WW bread. Go figure.

Plan today - to make sure to drink plenty of water so that I am hydrated for the walk tonight.
Vitamins - be sure to take them. (DONE)
Exercise - 3 miles after work.

~Amanda

Hi Amanda,

I've been meaning to post to your journal for awhile. I had the day off today so I read the first and last 20 pages. Sounds like you've had a crazy busy year. I congratulate you on losing 13 pounds with all the weddings and social eating you have to do!
Are you going to change the name of your journal now? ;)

I just restarted a jog/walk program a couple of weeks ago since I came to realize that jogging is really my favorite form of exercise and the only one I really can stick to. So far I am only doing 10 minutes; I will try to add 2 minutes per week...slow but steady.
You and your DH are doing great with your marathon training. I will live vicariously through all the WISH marathoners!:Pinkbounc

It is really cold here in the Northeast the last couple of days. I went out and got a new pair of running tights for cold weather; I wore them last night!

Don't worry about food choices too much...concentrate on your training for now. Try to keep portions reasonable and avoid junk and carbs with low nutritional value...eat extra veges and do your water. If you blow it one day, work extra hard to stay OP the next. As long as we keep crawling back on the wagon, that's what counts, since it shows our committment!!:cheer2:

Prayers as well for Helen and her family.

Keep up the great work you princess:
From a fellow princess:
Jean

Isn't it funny how when we let up on some of our "do's" and "don'ts" and give ourselves choices, we make the ones that are the best for us anyway? Way to go w/that half a sandwich this morning.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts in my journal; I value your opinions.

Thinking of you and of Helen, too, today.

,
Erin

Good Morning everyone! Well it is a good thing that I walked 3 miles yesterday because I was a glutton last night! I think I had 5 or 6 slices of thin crust pizza and 6 chicken wings. And then later I had thin mint cookies! AUGH! But our 3 mile walk was good although my knees are a little achy today. Only 2 miles to do tonight!

Vitamins are taken and I'm starting my first glass of water now. I wasn't hungry this morning so I skipped breakfast - I don't really have plans for lunch but I might make a sandwich or something fast. Otherwise same ole same ole.

By the way Walking for 45 minutes doing 3 miles at a moderate pace on a hard surface burns 117 calories.

Tonight doing 30 minutes and 2miles at a moderate pace will burn 78 calories

And then Sunday doing 6 miles with a jog/walking combination burns 676 calories. :earseek:

I know why I over ate last night. I didn't eat anything before our walk and then when we got home we ordered the food which took another 45 mintues to get there. So we didn't start eating until after 7pm and I was very very hungry at that point. I think I am going to pick up some Pria bars - I use to love eating those and they are a light snack that will help boost the energy level and keep me from over eating later.

~Amanda

Hi Amanda,

You did great with your walk. It is depressing to think how few calories we actually burn with our workouts, isn't it? Your walk schedule looks really good. You will definately be ready for your marathon.

I think the Pria bars are a really good idea. It should keep the starvation at bay.

Have a great weekend,
Beth

Well we ended up not walking last night it was very very cold and very very rainy so we decided to put it off until tonight. But if anyone could explain why I'm eating like a 9 month pregnant woman I would really appreciate it.
Recap for Yesterday:
B: Nothing.
L: Chicken Caesar Salad Wrap
D: Sliced Turkey in Gravy, Broccoli and cheese, 1/4 cup of noodles
S: PINT of Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream.

Yes you are reading that correctly I ate an entire pint of ice cream last night! And I could have eaten more. Anyone know why suddenly I can't seem to get FULL?

~Amanda

:rotfl: Ok, you 'fessed up, now give us the details: Cherry Garcia or Chunky Monkey? :teeth:

Erin

Going without breakfast is a no-no! ::yes:: :teeth: OK, at least it's a no-no for me - I can put it off until 8 or 9 AM and just eat a small amount but if I skip it entirely, I'm ravenously hungry that evening. Of course, your mileage may vary. :p

I've done the pint of B&Js before - in fact I used to do that quite often. :p Guess that's how I ended up on WISH. Do you think the overload of carbs from the night before set you up - you ate 5-6 slices of thin crust pizza which is a lot more carbs than you usually eat. I know that would set me up for further carb splurging. It seems like the more carbs I eat, the more I crave and I can never get enough.

Tonight - 2 miles - NO MATTER WHAT, right? I've got to do it before I get lazy. In my case, it may be an alternate form of exercise like dancing or WATP, because it's nothin' but rain, rain, rain here today.

I hope today turns out to be a good one for you, dear Amanda! Hang in there! The weekend is almost here! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Ok, you 'fessed up, now give us the details: Cherry Garcia or Chunky Monkey?

Cherry Garcia - of course!

Really Doe I don't think it was the carbs the night before because at least then I would have gotten full. I just can't seem to get full the last 2 days - I eat everything in sight.

Plan for today - because I do need one.

B: 1 slice of white bread with PB.
L: Not sure - I have to go home and clean up cat urine (I bet you all are jealous now!) so I might just do a sandwich or some summer sausage and cheese.
D: Again - not sure - might do something easy like hamburger helper for DH and I'll eat chicken wings.

LOL! I will trade you 1 sick feverish kid for 1 kitty wee-wee clean up. What do you say? :teeth:

The weather was awful yesterday, wasn't it??? And now today is COLD!!!!!!!!!! Brrrrr.....

Geetey - the weather was really bad on Thursday night. I hate winter in St. Louis.

Well we got some deals deals deals last night for Christmas decorations! My Dad is Mr. Christmas when it comes to decorating - you can't have to much of it in his opinion. So he calls me yesterday at work and says, "Baby Girl I need you to come over tonight I've got something I want you to see." Of course I groan because Lord knows what it will be. But I can't say no to Dad so we head down to his neck of the woods. We go out to eat and have a really nice evening. He then takes us to Value City. Does everyone have these? ANYWAY, he wanted to show us an 8ft inflatable lit up Grinch and dog to put up outside our house! LOL! Thank Goodness they only had the display item. We did end up getting 2 animated deer that light up for $14.99 each (That is an awesome deal since we almost speint $80 on them). We got the big fat C-7 lights for $4.99 a box, and a box of 18 American Greetings Christmas Cards for $3.99. And I found my MIL some placemats that I think she will like for $1.99 each. So'm I'm a fairly happy girl at the moment.

Water- I don't even think I drank any water yesterday.
Food - we won't talk about it.
Exercise - skipped it:blush:
Vitamins - Took them!

I'm going to do better today! I promise!

~Amanda

Good morning Amanda!

Don't you just love a great sale???!!!!:teeth: We have a Value City near us, but I haven't been to it in years. Maybe, we'll have to take a ride over there sometime in the near future.::yes::

Have a great weekend, Amanda!! It's your rest weekend right???:cloud9: Take good care of you!

Tracy:wave2:

DH had to get up and go to work this mornign and we had a to do list a mile long - so I powered cleaned this morning. My kitchen is clean - except for the floor which I'll sweep soon. Living room has been vaccumed and steamed clean on the carpets. Bedroom also steamed cleaned with the carpets and laundry is started. So much for resting huh? But it feels good to get all this done and to be honest my carpets looked really really bad.

I think I might go Christmas shopping this afternoon....then again I may just take a nap.

~Amanda

I am already starting to hate winter in St Louis! LOL!

What are Value Citys? I don't recall ever hearing about them in TN. Is it similar to a Big Lots? I just might to go and find one!

WOW - that's some heavy duty cleaning today! It was fairly nice outside, so I vote for a little Christmas shopping and THEN a nap! :teeth:

Geetey - Value City is similar to big lots but I think they are a bit bigger. We also have Value City furniture stores. They are all over St. Louis.

Well guys - I'm going to WDW in 21 days. We went out to dinner with the neighbors tonight and started talking about how much we wanted to get away and the next thing I know - poof we are going! I'll post more details soon!

~Amanda

Wow Amanda!

That is a perfect Christmas gift to each other. We want details!! I ish we could do a spontaneous trip, but it just isn't in the budget. You must be thrilled. Come on, I need to live vicariously.

Congrats on a trip,
Beth

Wow! That sounds like fun! Tell us all about it when you know the details, princess: Amanda.

Enjoy your Monday.
Erin

Okay details......

We went out to dinner with our neighbor's who are also DISers. And they were talking about their upcoming trip. And the next thing I know DH is talking about how he wants to get away and it seemed like such a bummer to be waiting until May to take a relaxing vacation (he already knows that January will not be relaxing!) and then we were going:Pinkbounc . DH and I are very careful with our money - if we have extra money it usually goes into savings, buying stocks, or making extra payments... and Brian said he wanted to do something for ourselves for a change - so this month we are spending!

2nd draft of our itinerary:
Saturday - December 4th - our flight leaves STL at 3:30 and lands at MCO at 7:00p.m. - our neighbors will be picking us up and taking us to the Beach Club where we will spend one night in their DVC Studio.

Sunday - December 5th
Going to see Celebration City
Resort Hopping
Dinner at CA Grill

Monday - December 6th
Magic Kingdom
Dinner at Tonys

Tuesday - December 7th
MGM Studios
Lunch at 50's Prime time Cafe

Wednesday - December 8th
Epcot
Early Dinner at Le Celliers
Candelight Processional

Thursday - December 9th
Resort Hopping
Early Dinner at Crystal Palace
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party

Friday - December 10th
Animal Kingdom in the morning
Epcot/MGM in the evening.

Saturday - December 11th
Downtown Disney
3:00 pm flight back to STL
4:30 land at STL

Confession time - we did not walk this weekend  between the intense planning for the trip and getting DH ready for his business trip it just didn't fit into our schedule. My neighbor has offered to walk with me tonight (since it will be dark and it freaks me out a bit to walk by myself) so I am going to do 3 miles tonight instead of the usual 2 that we would do. Then I am making him dinner for being so nice to me (his wife is also out of town on business).

I got on the scale this morning and it said 161 lbs - think that Ben and Jerry's is coming back to haunt me? So I am being careful today with food selections. I brought my Animal Kingdom Lodge mug to help me with the water.

B: 2 eggs, slice of cheese - 3 carbs
L: Leftover Slices of Turkey in gravy and broccoli w/ Cheese
D: Pork Chops in a Mushroom Garlic Sauce, greenbeans, and whatever else a throw together.
Exercise - 3 miles.

Okay - so I am off to try and get some work done today - my head is still spinning with thoughts of Disney!

~Amanda

Alright Amanda! I had to check to see if you were working this morning. At least I posted, not just stalking.

And about this dinner with my husband thing. Have fun, but not too much! Just kidding!

I am soooooooo glad that you and Bryan are going and I am glad to see you are excited. I think that I am more excited about the trip now that you guys are going too! It will be soooooo much fun!
