Amanda's Menu Planning Spectacular!

, Amanda. I agree with Beth and Kim. Just do the best that you can for now.

I can't remember exactly what your question about eBay was in my journal. I hope this helps....... I know that sometimes books sell and sometimes they don't. I had a set of books that I sold earlier this year for about $16. Considering I would be lucky to get .50 at a garage sale, I thought that was great! Then a couple of weeks ago, I decided to auction another set of books and only sold them for $4!:earseek: I think I probably should have waited until the weather was colder because people tend to read more in the colder months. I usually start my books off at $2 and shipping is around $3. (That includes shipping media mail and delivery confirmation.) If you need any more information, please let me know and I'll be happy to help you if I can. ::yes::

Amanda, please take good care of you sweetie. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.:grouphug:

Hi Amanda

I'm sure today will be difficult for you and I want you to know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. May God give you all strength and comfort today.

Please don't beat yourself up over your food choices right now. Even though I know we're supposed to view food as fuel for our bodies and not for comfort, the fact is sometimes it's just that (I dipped into some much-needed chocolate last night, myself). Doing the best you can is all you can ask of yourself right now. You can get back in 100% control mode when your emotions are not running the gamut. It's OK, sweetie--it's a rough time.

I am sure the service today will be beautiful and I hope it brings you peace.

Well we are back and now that I can focus on something else my attention has turned to my house which looks like a dump at the moment. It really just needs to be straightened, dusted, and vaccumed but yet it all feels very overwhelming at the moment.

The service was nice although to me, not very personal. My Dad came to the funeral which in my opinion just made things harder on me. My parents have been divorced for 3 years but my Dad was never really happy about it. And I know in moments like these he is hoping that my Mom will turn to him for comfort - when she doesn't he gets angry and says things to me that really bother me. I love my Dad but in a way he is very selfish and instead of being their to support her or his children he is really there looking for an oppurtunity. And I feel bad that he is still hurting so much and I try to make him understand without really placing blame - but the truth is that my Mom was worried about herself and her sister's family and not thinking about my Dad. It is very distressing and I never know what to say. I'm thinking later I'll take a long bath to relieve all the tension.

I know this has nothing to do with dieting - but I need to get all of this out so that I don't binge. I have remained on plan today.

B: 1 piece of ham, egg, and slice of cheese - 3 carbs
L: 4 chicken wings, 3 slices of ham with Cheese, broccoli and celery dipped in veggie dip. I estimate 7.5 carbs for lunch.
S: toppings off of 4 slices of thin crust pizza
D: We are going to grill bratwurst - I will be enjoying mine without a bun and I will be having some grilled mushrooms with it.

I'm sorry about your aunt. I know exactly how you feel about your parents. It is uncomfortable and puts you in a bad situation doesn't it? Hang in there. I just try and ignore it/brush it off. Hard though.

Good Morning. Well I am back at work today and despite being so tired that I feel like I've been sedated - I feel good. Yesterday was nearly perfect and I am hoping that will carry over into today. The scale said 156 lbs this morning which is a tad bit depressing.

I went online to www.lowcarbfriends.com and looked up about 5 good dessert recipes that will be easy to make and that I can keep around the house.

Plan today:
B: 3 pieces of ham (1.5) and a slice of cheese (1)
L: Tuna Salad(3) or left over Heroin Wings(5) and Zucchini
Casserole (5)
D: I have a pork tenderloing in the freezer that I think I'll get out at lunch and start defrosting it. Or we will do Pork steaks.
S: Sugar Free Jello

~Amanda

Hi Amanda!

Oh, I'm so sorry that with all you had to go through with your Aunt's funeral, you felt as uncomfortable as you did because of your parent's situation. You had enough emotion to deal with as it was.

Good for you for staying OP yesterday and I hope today's just as great! Have a terrific Thursday, Amanda! :sunny:

I have a headache. And not just any headache - but a slamming against the back of my head, making me dizzy, light hurts my eyes kind of headache. It is making me want chocolate to comfort myself but I am doing an excellent job of resisting the EVM. So far today my eating has been:

B: 3 pieces of ham and slice of cheese - 2.5 carbs
S: Sugar Free Hot Chocolate - 9 carbs
L: 5 Heroin Wings - 5 carbs
S: Diet Coke and String Cheese - 2 carbs
S: Sugar Free Hot Chocolate - 9 carbs
D: Cheeseburger w/Pickles, mustard and ketchup-3 carbs
S: 1/2 glass of white wine and Sugar Free Jello - 10 g
Total- 40.5 carbs

I have hamburgers defrosting for grilling tonight and I set out the sugar free jello so that I will make it when I get home and have it for tonight. I know I am going to want something sweet when I get home.

 Amanda,

I'm sorry for all you have gone through this week. You are a good daughter to both your parents, but Mom needed to be the priority. I'm sorry you've got a migraine. Have you tried motrin with a caffiene chaser? I know the only thing that helps me is caffiene. I'm sending very quiet:goodvibes your way.
Beth

:bounce: YES! :bounce:

The scale moved this morning down 1 pound! This just gives me the energy to be a good girl again today and to stay on program.

I have found that I am really enjoying a half a glass of white wine every night. Of course the wine I have is very sweet so it does add some extra carbs to my menu. I think the next time I go to the winery I will check out more of the red wines since those are lower in carbs.

Menu for today:
B: 2 slices of ham and a cheddar cheese - 2 carbs

L: Either a leftover cheeseburger - 3 carbs or leftover bratwurst - 6 carbs, or something else.

S: String Cheese - 2 carbs

D: Not sure - We might do leftovers or I'll be making something else.

We are having dinner with our neighbors tomorrow night and are looking very forward to it. Hopefully we will get in a couple game so of Disney Trivia. I am racking my brain to figure out what to make for dinner. So far I've come up with nothing. But I know desert will be smores (I'll plan accordingly).

~Amanda

Dear Amanda, I'm so sorry to hear about your Aunt Nancy and about your difficult time dealing with your dad and his emotions on top of everything else.

I am glad to hear your headache is in the past and that the scale has resumed a downward trend! Hang in there!! You've got more success coming your way - I'm sure of it!!

Maybe you should make a yummy chicken parmesan for dinner tomorrow night. You can have the chicken, some not-too-carby tomato sauce and melted mozzarella cheese on top, along with low-carb noodles for those who wish to eat them. Combine that with a salad and you're all set! Gosh, I'm making myself hungry! :p You can even have some of that white wine with it - yummy!! What time should I be there???? :rotfl:

Hope you have a great day and a wonderful, relaxing weekend! :sunny:

Hi Amanda!

A :thewave: BIG CONGRATULATIONS! :thewave: on the scale moving down!

Mmmmmm.......a glass of wine sounds good right about now! Or maybe I should wait until *after* ds9 gets home from school--I'm much more likely to need it then! :teeth:

Excellent job, Amanda! :cool1:

Recap for food 9/24

B: 2 pieces of ham and cheddar cheese - 3 carbs
L: 1 1/2 bratwurst - 5 carbs and Sugar Free Jello - 0
S: Mini Snickers Bar - 12 carbs
D: Shrimp, Broccoli, and Mushroom Alfredo - 10 carbs
2 Cheese Ravioli - 13.3 carbs
S: 1/2 glass of white wine - 10 g

total: 53.5 carbs

~Amanda

Good Morning! I've had a busy morning already today. DH and I got up early so that we could go to the DMV and DH could register to vote. And then we went to the grocery store to pick up food for this evening.
Plan for today:

B: Nothing
L: Tuna Salad - 3 carbs
D: Paremesean Chicken - 1 carb for chicken, 1 carb for cheese, 6 carbs for spaghetti Sauce and then 5 carbs for half cup noodles.
plus Salad.
S: Smores - I haven't figured the carb count yet. But my goal is to be under 55 carbs.

No exercise today but I am feeling a lot better about myself. Although I woke up about 5a.m in a cold sweat. I dropped off my bridesmaids dress on the 13th for the alterations and I haven't heard from the lady yet. The wedding is this coming Sunday.:scared: I've called her 3 times today and have gotten no answer so I'm a bit nervous.

~Amanda

I sure hope the parmesan chicken turns out yummy! Enjoy your company!

Crossing my fingers that your dress' alterations are complete! I bet you'll look beautiful! Do we get to see pics????

Good Morning everyone! We had such a fabulous time last night! The Chicken Paremesean was very yummy and relatively low carb - I can't wait to try the recipe again. The Smores were also scrumptious and I had 3 of them :earseek: ! Talk about over doing it! The guys split a case of beer between the two of them and me and Susan managed to drink 2 bottles of sparkling wine. So it was a great night!

Today we have our nephews baptism and a luncheon afterwards. They are going to be serving sandwiches, pasta, salad, and garlic bread. Thank goodness for the salad. I'll be having to watch what I eat there big time. Especially after last night.

Plan for today:
B: slice of ham, 2 eggs, and a piece of cheese - 3.5 carbs
L: Salad, sandwich meat on only half slice of roll
D: Leftovers from a previous night this week.
S: Sugar Free Jello

~Amanda

Well even the best plans fall to the wayside when there is cheesecake. :teeth:

I am feeling very emotionally drained at the moment after another day of what I called the Divorced Parents Waltz. You see DH's parents are also divorced but to add more spice to mix his mother is re-married. It was exhausting. But otherwise the baptism went fine - there were some things that happened that really ticked me off but I am trying to move on.

Today -
B: ? Not sure if I'll eat breakfast today - I'm not all that hungry.
L: Either a leftover cheeseburger or leftover Chicken Parmesean
S: String Cheese
D: The opposite of whateger I decide for lunch. :)
S: Sugar Free Jello

To do list:
1) Pick up Bridesmaid dress

Hi Amanda, and thanks for the giggle!

You seem to be going through a lot of Parent Stuff lately, and I'm sorry you're in the middle of it. Do you ever feel as though you've switched places and that you are the parent and they the children? I know sometimes I do. I'm glad your precious nephew's baptism went well--I'm sure you're all very proud!

Have a great Monday, Amanda! :sunny:

Do you ever feel as though you've switched places and that you are the parent and they the children?

More often then I would like to admit do I feel this way.

Change of plans evidently.

Hi Amanda! Just checking in with you and here I read all this big NEWS!!:earseek:What wonderful news Amanda! Good for you! It has also been a secret wish of mine to be a travel agent, but I haven't found the right online agency to go with. I will be very interested to hear how it goes for you. And I WISH you all the best!!:Pinkbounc
And good for you to plan ahead and try to get something going before future baby arrives. We would all love to do it, but it is MUCH harder to start up after baby because of time, etc! I truly hope it all works out for you!:flower3:
Sounds like you have a good plan for your day today. How's the water going?:fish: :p
