Amanda's Menu Planning Spectacular!

Hi Amanda,

Have a great trip, I'm sure it won't be as bad as you think it will be. Although, I could only imagine how tough it is being away from your DH that long, I couldn't imagine being away from my DF that long.

Best wishes for a safe and fun trip! I know it's nerve-wracking now, but think of the confidence boosts you'll get all this week - meeting new challenges and succeeding!! You're gonna be so proud of you!! Strut your stuff out there in California, Amanda!! After all, you are a WISH princess: !!!

I would be a bundle of nerves if I were in your shoes.... so don't feel weird if you wanna crack. Glad you got some good buys at walmart. Hope you have a safe and successfull trip. Talk soon.

Kristin

Hi Amanda,

I hope you have a very successful trip. I am sure all your presentations will go smoothly, and you will impress all. I love new clothes. They can be a real boost. Think how great you look, and even if they don't last long, $50 is a great price. If you get bored, I just got my 2005 Unofficial guide to WDW. you could pick one up. Enjoy the time with your Aunt.. I'll be praying for a safe journey.

Hi Everybody! What a crazy night last night. 5.5 hours on a plane will really wear you out. I was out like a light and slept very soundly despite being right by the airport. I've been watching planes take off all day today.

Today went well - I met a lot of the guys that I work with on the phone daily - so it was great to put faces with names. I didn't have to give any presentations today so that was good.

I saw my first famous people today! I saw 3 members of the cast from Still Standing - the sitcom on ABC. We were near the lot for lunch. I made eye contact with the Dad from the show and he smiled at me. I didn't talk to them or bother them though because they looked to be enjoying their lunch. I also drove by the Playboy Mansion, through Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive, saw the Chinese Theatre, and the Hollywood sign. So it was a fun afternoon. Now I'm hanging out in my hotel room talking to Brian online and trying to relax.

Food wise has been healthy but with lots of carbs. Seems they are more concerned with low fat here rather then low carb - I hope to do better tomorrow.

~Amanda

Sounds like you're having a great time!! I'm glad things are going well, and I just know you'll do great with your presentations! I'm sending you good vibes!!

That must have been so cool to see your first famous person. I like that show and watch it on a regular basis. I am glad your having such a good time keep up the good work. Even though it has a bit more carbs at least your still trying to keep an eye on it.

Why does a plane have to crash in Russia while I am traveling? I know my family is freaking out right now at home. I wish I was at home - I miss my husband.

Today was a long day and I am really worn out. I am meeting my aunt for dinner tonight so I plan on relaxing for the next hour or two and try destres. My food was much better today. Breakfast was some eggs w/green peppers and sausage, a slice of bacon, and 3 strawberries. Lunch I had the best and freshest chicken ceasar salad that I have ever had - I ate around the crutons. We did have a crabcake for an appetiser. I've stuck to water and diet soda except for this afternoon when I need a pick me up and I had a snapple - 56 carbs - yikes! Although I can already tell that my face and body has lost some bloat today just from being a bit more careful.

It has been neat here in LA but I am alreayd ready to head home and it is only Tuesday. I am trying to stay focused on the positives. I didn't see a whole lot of interesting stuff today. Just the Rose Bowl stadium (from afar) and we also drove by the Disney Animation Studio and the ABC building.

Well I should get going. See ya later!

Hi Everyone! I had my first branch presentation today and it went really really well. Thanks for all the good vibes from everyone. Today was a really rough day food wise. My escort was about 35 minutes late picking me up so we didn't have time to grab breakfast. And then we only had limited amounts of time in the branches so there wasn't time for lunch. So the only food I ate between 6a.m. and 4p.m. was one cup of coffee, a granola bar, and a fudge brownie (someone had them in the branch). I finally got back to the hotel and got a chicken Quesdilla and some strawberries. After I ate I fell asleep for over an hour. Talk about a draining day. I am starting to feel somewhat human now and I will probably order something to eat later this evening. Right now it is only 7pm.

The weather out here has been amazing - I wish I could get out and enjoy it more. The smog really hasn't been to bad out here although it does always seem hazy.

~Amanda

Hi Amanda,

You did the best you could with what options you had. Good for you. It is more important that you eat something. I hope you get some rest after that draining day. Do you head home tomorrow? I am praying for a safe journey home to hubby.
Beth

Hi Beth - no I don't head home until Monday - although I wish it was a lot sooner. I am a bit crabby today - the guy escorting me is a good guy but he does get on my nerves. He is just such a sales guy that you kinda wonder if he is really listening to you. Today was an okay day - I wasn't as well received at the branches that we went to today as I have been in other branches. Actually I was kinda of told off all morning long which gets real annoying after awhile.

I managed to get breakfast this morning I had 2 eggs, some cheese, and some Orange Juice. Lunch was on the run and I didn't get to eat till almost 2:30 so it was fast food quesdillas. I can tell that my iron is realy low at the moment so I am going to eat a cheeseburger tonight for dinner. I have very long day tomorrow and probably won't be able to post. We have a 2 hour drive down the coast to get to the branch that we need to be at. Which of course means 4 hours total in the car with this guy who is driving me nuts. I am glad that I only have to make these trips once a year otherwise I think I would go crazy.
Sorry to be complaining so much - I am just in a grumpy mood and I am ready to go home.

Things I need to do on the days I am home:
Plan Megan's bridal shower - get all the details down
laundry
repack - we are going out of town together over Labor Day weekend.

~Amanda

Monday will get here before you know it! Hang in there - the worst is over, right? Soon, you'll be at home and back into your comfortable routine. You've done the best you could with food - good for you!

Hope today goes well! :sunny:

Hi Amanda,

My suggestion (of course it comes too late) is to sleep in the car. That is one way to avoid talking to the guy. I hope today goes well. Enjoy the time with your aunt. Just keep thinking about you long weekend away with DH.
Beth

:wave2: Hi Amanda,
Sorry you're missing home. I'm sure I would be missing my DH too. Just remember you will be home soon.

BTW, I think it is so cool you actually saw famous people :smooth: .

Take care  .

Dear Amanda, I'm thinking of you!! :wave2:

Hope all is well and you are back home, safe and sound! ::yes::

I thought it was only appropriate that I make my first post under my new user ID in your journal. I promise to post more often under my new user ID.

Have a great day!!!!:D

Well it is good to be home! Of course I've gained 6 lbs while I was gone. So if anyone heard screaming in the St. Louis area - that is from me. Susan - I hope I didn't scare your dogs ;) Everyone "Mickey with an A" is my neighbor Susan - everyone say "hi!:wave2: "

Well it is back to the grind today. I came in the office to 300 emails and about 10 voicemails - I am about half-way caught up. I'll be working late tonight though so that tomorrow I won't have to worry about playing catch up still. Food is going to be extra extra good this week.

Plan for today:
B: skipped it because I wasn't hungry.
L: Chicken Wings at one carb each I can have about 10 and still be good.
D: ?? I forgot to get out stuff to defrost. I might suggest Subway though and get a wrap. Or we might go out tonight while we are bday shopping for my MIL and get a salad somewhere.
Water water water water water!
Exercsie - probably not going to happen this week since there is so much to do.

I'll try to get to everyone's journals tonight!

~Amanda

I am sure your glad to be home. Sleep in your own bed, be near your sweety. Don't sweat the 6lbs, you will get them off fast considering how you work out. Well enjoy your day and keep smiling.
