Amanda's Menu Planning Spectacular!

IT IS FINALLY FEBRUARY Only a handful of days until I am in sunny Orlando. My goal this month is to try to be cheat free everyday that I am not in Florida. That would be 21 days out of the month. The great thing about going to Disney is that I am going to be in my D-zone during that time. So yeah! Today is the Super Bowl and we are going to my cousins house for a party. My cousin is a WW person so I know there will be salad, and veggies to eat and Diet Soda to drink. I am bringing along Italian Meatballs so that I can have something else on the menu that I enjoy.

Looking back over January I did pretty good. Not as good as I wanted but still pretty good. I am going to go back and read my journal for th ewhole month to help me learn what my pitfalls are for next month. I was 67.7% sucessful for the month and I really think that is a high number for me. I want to thank my Wish Friends Doe, Erin, Deb, Marsh, and Zera's Pride for giving me lots and lots of support over the last month. That is what made all the difference.

The rest of my plan for today this is a 55 carb day:
B: half apple with Peanut butter (13 carbs)
L: leftover sausage (8 carbs) and sauteed mushrooms (1)
D: Super bolw party.

*********************************
Went back and read through my journal marking on a calender when I was cheat free and when I wasn't. An noticed a patern I was 100% cheat Free every Monday and Wednesday. 75% cheat free on Tuesdays (one day w/o a plan) and 80% chat free on Thursdays (had a slip up of miscalculation) so during those 4 days I am really 85% on target it really takes a miscalculation or a minor slip up to get me off program those days. On Fridays I was 60% cheat free the only two fridays I got off target were Fridays when I had plans outside the house. And Saturday and Sundays - i was only cheat free 2 saturdays and 1 sunday out of the month. So I can't really blame my non-cheat free days on D-zone but on not sticking to plans over the weekends. My goal for Febraury is to up my percentages on the weekends.

~Amanda

Amanda - Yeah for you! 67.7% no cheating days for the month??!! That is wonderful! I think when we look toward our futures (after making goal) we have to still be able to be cheat free a certain number of days, or the weight will all be back. By having some days where you stray from the plan a little is not so bad. It helps keep cravings at bay and prepares you for the "real world"! So, my hat is off to you. Great job to recognize your patterns too!

Good job Amanda:) I'm making the journal rounds and it's good that you are spotting patterns like that

have a great day:)

Amanda, I also am impressed with you charting your patterns and percentages! First of all you did very well in January! I'll have to take a page from your journal and analyze my January also! I think it's a great way to learn where the trouble spots are!

Enjoy your party tonight! :sunny:

i agree with doe, that's a great idea to look back and spot patterns! definitely a good way to figure out when the trouble times are, and to be ready to stop them! you really did well in january, and i know that you will continue on that way in february :)

have a great day today :sunny:

Hi, Amanda. Just wanted to stop in and thank you for posting my cheat free %. That was so helpful! Now if I can just improve in February! You should be proud of all you accomplished in January, Amanda. It's all a journey and you've taken some significant steps in the right direction!:Pinkbounc

I can't believe that you'll be in sunny WDW in less than a WEEK!!!
And that you'll be down there munching a bit with Doreen!:happy1: You're going to have such a great time. Please make sure Doreen takes a picture of you together and sends it to us WISHers so we can live vicariously through you both!

Hmmm, if you're trying to be cheat free unless you're in WDW, then you better walk the straight and narrow today, girlfriend. We'll walk the road together, OK?:D

Take care,
Erin

I'm in my skinny pants today and feeling great. I love being able to wear these again. They are even a little bit big at the moment. The super bowl party was a partial success a lemon bar was to good to pass up although I did pass on Cheesecake, chocolate brownies, jambalya, Fruit dip made with marshmellows. I stuck to Strawberries, had 3 meatballs, and 1 chicken wing. So all and all not to bad. I have been debating on whether to count the day cheat free or not and I still haven't made up my mind yet. I'm going to sit on it a little bit longer.

Todays menu:
b: blue bunny yogurt - 14 carbs and 2 slices of bacon - 1 carb
L: ??? If I go hom then it will be Sausage-10 carbs and cauliflower or celery.
D: Again up in the air. Might just be an everyone fends for themselves night.

I got in trouble at work today for an inappropriate email I guess I sent out. I am waiting for HR to come down and "talk" to me.

Skinny pants! Gotta love those skinny pants!:cool1:

Sounds like you did GREAT at the Superbowl party. I say count it as cheat free because you resisted SO many temptations!::yes::

Less than a week to beautiful, sunny, warm WDW! I am sooooo jealous of you and Doe! Yes, please post a picture for us all when you get back. You are gonna be lookin so fine in that sunshine!

Hope you have a great day and don't get too much of a "talking to" by HR!:scared:

Amanda, good luck with the HR people - hope they don't come down on you too hard. On the other hand, I'd like to get fired from my job so we have an excuse to move to sunny warm Florida, so if the email is REAL inappropriate, you can send it to me to forward around at MY workplace! :p Sorry, Amanda, I don't mean to make light of your workplace troubles - just looking for a way to leave my workplace behind. ;)

Hope you find yummy, on plan food to eat. Those unplanned days are tough for me!!

Thanks for stopping by Doe and Sharron - I still haven't talked to HR yet but my manager did give me more info. Basically I received an inappropriate email - I did not forward it to anyone so really I am getting a slap on the wrist because I didn't report it to management. I Guess my defense is going to be well I wasn't offended by it therefore didn't report it. Either way I'm not worried. Doe don't stress your post made me laugh!

Still debating my cheat free status. Here is my menu from yesterday:
B: Bacon (2 carbs) Eggs and Mushrooms (3 carbs)
S: Chips (17 carbs) Salsa (1 carb)
L: Breaded chicken Breast (12 carbs) with a cheesy sauce
S: Meatballs (1 carb) Chicken Wing (literally one wing 0 carbs) Strawberries (6 carbs) and Lemon Bar (???)

Really it is only the Lemon Bar that threw me off. I really didn't do to bad the whole day since I was trying to take in 55 carbs and not counting the Lemon Bar I was at 42 carbs.

~Amanda

Sounds cheat free to me, Amanda!! ::yes::

I am going to count yesterday as cheat free! :) Thanks for helping me out there Doe.

So far so good today. Breakfast was 15 carbs lunch was 16 carbs, and Dinner was 7 carbs.

Dinner was a stroganoff recipe I got out of my new recipe book. I need to tweek it a little because it did come out a little blan to me. It need 2 TBSP of Worchester sauce and I only had 1 so that might have had something to do with it. Otherwise it was really really simple to make and has the possibility of becoming what I call a "staple meal". 38 carbs gone for today so I might have some low carb ice cream tonight for a snack. Oh! Just remembered had a coffee with Sugar Free Vanilla Syrup that will be 5 carbs to add to the 38 for 43 carbs. Still plenty of room for ice cream should I decide to have some. Although I am craving green peppers and ranch dressing so I might have that instead.

I'm rambling and I know it.

~Amanda

Wow, Amanda! :Pinkbounc You're doing great! Thanks for stopping over at my journal. I always enjoy hearing from you.
You've inspired me to go for the gusto in February and to make it even better than January. It's going to be hard, though, knowing you're in Disney World next week--I WANT TO GO TO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, sorry, moment of inappropriate but sincere jealousy. I'll try to contain my emotions.

Have a good Tuesday tomorrow. I look forward to hearing how your day goes.

Erin

you did great today Amanda :) Especially with all those treats at the party last night

Snack tonight of some Peppers and Ranch Dressing - 3 carbs and a Hersheys Kiss (3 carbs) and a Creamsaver (4) for a total of 53 carbs for the day. So I am under my 55 carbs - another cheat free day for me! Whoo hooo!

It snowed here tonight so I will more then likely have to pack a lunch for tomorrow and I have no idea what to take. Might have to be tuna salad again. Breakfast will be half an apple and some Peanut butter (yum).

~Amanda

hey amanda, sorry i haven't been by in a couple days, i don't know how i skipped over your journal! so let me catch up: great job at the superbowl. it's so hard to resist when everyone else is enjoying all those foods that we shouldn't have! but you did a great job, and i'm glad you counted it as cheat free, because you really made excellent choices.

that is so silly about the email issue. i originally thought (like everyone else i guess) that you had sent the email, but you received it? oh come on, i'd like to know how that's your fault. amazing how crazy management can be. hope the "talking to" went well :p .

sounds like you did very well yesterday with food. keep it up! hope today is another great day for you :sunny:

I hate snow. I hate snow with a passion!

Last night I forgot to defrost the Roast I was going to make today in the crockpot so I have no idea what we are going to do for dinner. I might suggest Subway or something.

B: Oatmeal (it is freezing outside and there are mornings when ya need your Quaker Oats) 15 carbs - 1 splenda packet for some sweetness (1) = 16 carbs

L: Leftover Pork Tenderloin (?), Green Peppers and Ranch Dressing (?) - I need to check on the amounts.

D: ???

Weighed myself this morning and the scale said 154 lbs - that would be a 2 lb loss from last week. I am going to see if it last until tomorrow morning and then I will change my signature. That would be a total of 10lbs gone. I think my body likes being at 55 carbs a whole lot better then just 30 carbs. I am also wearing size 12 jeans today. I have this old pair of Calvin Kleins and I decided to test them out today. They are a little tight but I think it is mostly because I am use to Stretch jeans and these were made long before the Stretch concept was popular. I seemed to be whooshing the last couple of days because I was having to use the restroom a whole lot. Hopefully it means this 154 is a legit number. How exciting!

Size 12 jeans!!!! You go girl!! woohoo!!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

Hang in there with this snow! You'll be in WDW in no time and forget all about this evil white stuff! Can I tell you how much I LOVE AKL??!! It's gonna be wonderful!

I've got my fingers crossed that your 154 is legit. Here's some pixie dust to go with it too!:wizard:

TTFN-
Sharon

Thanks Sharon I am hoping my 154 is legit as well because I will have broken through my plateau weight of 156 then. It only took 2 weeks to break through it so I guess I shouldn't complain to much.

Lunch was really yummy! I am going to have to slice up Peppers more often as snack. Plus they are filled with great vitamins and minerals that your body can always use!

Jeans are still feeling a bit tight but I have't had to undo the button yet so again - I'm not complaining. I am in total vacation mode at work - hard to concentrate and get things done today.

Dinner is still completely up in the air. My Mom was't good at offering any suggestions and then you have my husband with the "Pizza" standby. Augh! I CAN'T EAT PIZZA YOU DOPE!

~Amanda

**********************************************
So guess what we ended up having? If you said Pizza your a winner! We also ordered Salad. I estimate that I had eaten about 22 carbs today so I had 33 carbs to spare. I ate a big salad which was just lettuice and cheese and had 4 small pieces of pizza and then just the toppings off two other pices. The slices were really tiny (3 inch squares thin crust) so I didn't feel to bad about eating 2 more slices then I usually do plus I was extra hungry tonight. Now I'm full and have no cravings at all. We actually had to finish the pizza because my Mom and I both kept going back to it (hence the toppings no crust slices) Once it was gone we coudl relax. I was going to have ice cream tonight but I've decided against that. I really want my scale to read 154 lbs tomorrow. I've drank lots of water and I am off to have some more.

~Amanda

hey amanda, good luck with that scale! i really hope that it stays at 154 for you! breaking through plateaus can be so frustrating, so it is so wonderful for you that you've done it :)
