Am I the only one devastated by the Country Bear Jamboree Updates just released?

I think Disney World fans and regulars won't be happy with the new show. But kids and the family that goes for their first trip would prefer this show compared to the previous, if you gave them the option.

I would disagree. The people who get on message boards to post their latest complaint represent 1/2 of 1 percent of their consumers. Trying to please them is an exercise in futility. All they really need to do is look at the half empty theater most days to realize that it's time for an update. We complain that they are replacing our nostalgic favorite attraction and then also complain that the 40-year-old ride with 50-year-old animatronics is always going down. At some point, you just have to move on. My 9 yo doesn't care about the Tiki Room and doesn't even know who the Swiss Family are. Do we really need Tom Sawyer's Island? There's rarely anyone over there (if it is open) and not much to really do anyway. Can we not move on from it because 47 people on the internet had a favorite memory from 42 years ago about walking in a cave?

I personally don't want to visit an amusement park museum. I want to see what's new. When DW opened it was special because there wasn't much like it. Now that's becoming true again but for the wrong reasons. How does the word Tomorrowland even apply when the speedway is using old power instead of (at the very least) an electric car? I love the People Mover, but why am I being moved on a bench that looks like it's from a 1982 McDonalds restaurant? We could all probably do post after post of all the ways in which time is passing Disney by. Being devastated over a song change seems a bit much.
Completely agree, all i would add is that Walt wouldn't be satified with the old and would be ripping thing out and trying new things. There shouldn't be any sacred cows in the parks, if it works and people love it, leave it. If it doesn't change it, nice and simple.

They typically do, there’s a reason I didn’t say if YOU love it haha 🤣
I love improvements. I support them.

But did *anyone* enjoy what they did to Imagination? Does anyone enjoy Communicore Hall? It wasn't a good idea to give a "new story" to Tiana instead of a retell of the amazing movie that everyone wanted. I don't think people enjoy the new story nor does anyone think it is better than Splash. Is it an improvement to turn Main Street into one giant Disney mall store instead of the penny arcade and magic shop that used to be there? These aren't improvements. It makes Disney look cheap.

I am the first to say Ellen's Energy Adventure had to go. Guardians is better. I like Winnie the Pooh and I get people don't know Mr Toad as well (although my kids watch it every Halloween.) I think Mine Train is fine but the original Snow White Dark ride is better and my children prefer it. I like the Frozen ride. I'm not against upgrades....when they are actually upgrades.

Well, I can enjoy Imagination, even if it's not as good as the original. I haven't ridden Tiana's, but it seems enjoyabel, even if I would have preferred a different story or a retelling of the movie. I think it's important to judge things for what they are, not what they are not. Just because it's not as good as something else, doesn't mean it is actually "bad." I can usually find something to like about any attraction, even if some aren't my favorites.

I respect your opinion (and i get it), i would just challenge that some of the things you've brought up seem to be near and dear to you. In reality i would argue that arcades are on the way out, hotels all have a small one in them that are pretty baren most of the time. Magic is really obsolete outside of little kids, i would say it has fallen off since the early 2000's where it last peaked. The shops on main street are constantly packed so i can't say it wasn't an upgrade that didn't work. i'll reserve judgement on communicore hall i am assuming there's more to come, but as of today that's a fail. Splash is the only one i would say makes a good argument, people loved it as it was, Disney clearly made a social decision that you can agree or disagree with, but the ride itself didn't need an "upgrade" as it was extremely popular

I would agree with this, tiana may not be as beloved to me, but if my daughter loves the ride i'm in. the potential "magic" that Disney can create in that moment for her is enough for me as well

I mean, I feel like I would have liked a better story for Tiana, something with a little verve. The omission of Dr. Facillier was a big miss. Disney seems to be on this kick of villains are too scary for kids, and I don't know why.

That said, Tiana's still seems plenty good and enjoyable. Just because it's not what *I* would have done, doesn't automatically make it bad. People fall into this trap all the time with any franchise that they love. If things don't play out exactly the way they expected it to - *cough* Star Wars *cough* - then they deem it to be absolute trash. I prefer to try to find something enjoyable in any of it (or, you know, genuinely like it actually). Sure, sometimes I can't, but that it what it is too and I try not to get too wound up about it.

I'm not singling you out---your post just made me think of it. But, is this a 'chicken or the egg' type thing? I mean, in the 70's nobody knew they wanted 'magic.' But they got it, and they liked it.
It's like a hit TV show where the first two seasons are excellent---then they start doing market research and ask people what THEY want---and the show just goes downhill.
I didn't really put much thought into this, but it's something that popped in my head.

Well, I'm sure if the Magic Shop was selling product hand over fist they would have kept it. I do wish the shops weren't quite so homogenous, but I understand the need to change them.

Oooohhhh. I missed that. I was thinking of magic as the romantic, nostalgic feeling of being in WDW...but, it seems that the PP quoted actual pull-a-rabbit-out-of-the-hat magic. In that case, yeah, shut it down and put up some WDW merchandise stores. I apologize for the confusion.

Well, I watched the preview and nostalgia aside, its was not true to the sense of what it was supposed to be. The regurgiation of songs we already love is not creative. They did pull it together better than I expected, but as someone else said, the music is almost insulting as they really just added a bad country accent to much of it. I watched the older version again and it was just so different and unique. The original songs also just had a catchiness to them. I didn't want to clap to these. They reworked them pretty well and I think the love song was cute and the smoke added to the violin, but this is too much of an overhaul for me to want to make sure I go back every trip. I'm still sad and so are my teens. They never grew out of these shows and loved going back to them with each subsequent sibling or new relative we brought with us. It's funny how much better they even remembered the songs as we watched the new version. They started singing the original tunes before I could even remember them.

The only thing I’ll say about Communicore hall is how many people have been whining and screaming and complaining about benches/tables/seating being removed. Granted it was meant they wanted seating strategically placed throughout the entirety of the park, but still.
They got seating—covered seating at that! 🤷‍♀️

So, I was a "go every trip" person too. I do a VERY good Big Al impression.

But aside from the two of us, I am not sure how many others there are, because the theater was rarely ever even close to full. It wasn't pulling its weight, and while you and I might not have the same warm fuzzies about the new version, it is not hard to imagine that it will draw better.

And at the end of the day, that's the purpose of a theme park attraction--to have guests experience them.
