Hello,

When we booked our holiday we booked my ticket etc in my maiden name as I haven't changed my passport yet.

I was told by my travel agent that as long as my ticket matched my passport name that it would be ok.

I have spoken with some other people and they said the same.

Now we are going in 4 weeks and 6 days i'm starting to get really stressed that I won't be allowed into the USA and that i'll be in trouble.

I'm going to take a copy of my marriage licence etc with me but am I ok to do this???

Also do I mention it when we go through customs???

i don't think you need to mention it at customs !! take your certificate just in case but im sure it is fine :thumbsup2 i travelled to greece in my maiden name after we got married

I wouldn't mention it - they won't know any different unless you do, as far as they are concerned you are still unmarried, just take your certificate with you incase. Don't worry it will be fine!

I agree with Gems :)

If your tickets are in your maiden name and your passport is in your maiden name then no one is going to be any the wiser unless they draw their attention to it.

Presumably this must happen all the time with couples jetting off on their honeymoons a day or two after their wedding so shouldn't be anything unusual within the thravel industry.

There must be a lot of married women who do not use their husband's name through choice. You may have to fill in two seperate customs forms though if you have different surnames, but I'm sure that won't be a problem.

There's no probs at all :) As long as your tickets match the name on your passport it's fine. No ned to mention when going through customs or security either.

I did it last year when I went to WDW.

Also done it twice to European destinations.

I always carry my marriage certificate 'cos most of my bank cards etc are in my married name and sometimes abroad you have to show passport as well - never happened to me in the States though.

Go and enjoy your hols and stop worrying :yay:

There is no rule that you have to change your name when you get married. My passport is still in my maiden name and my bank cards in my married name, never had a problem. I've booked tickets on my CC before having to show photo id and no-ones ever complained.

As has been said if the passport and tickets match then that is all that matters and who is to know you have just got married, also nothing in law to say you have to take your husbands name when you get married!

Claire ;)

thanks everyone!

I know I will be so nervous going through customs but like you all say they will be non the wiser.

Fingers crossed!
