Maybe from now on we all should have my 3 y.o niece call and book our WDW vacations with dining plan for us, and we just use her credits for our meals, we can pay her meals out of pocket…. Wait , I got a better idea… how about have my 3 months old nephew call and book our plans for us and we all use his dining plan credits, because he got even better rate. We can pay his meal out of our pocket.
It shouldn’t be consider cheating cause: Disney's own Dining Plan Brochure specifically states that anyone in your party can use any of the TS credits left in the bank, at any time, as long as there are TS credits left.
I cant believe you are freaking out about this the way you are.All the credits are pooled together and can be used any way you want to.It is not that anyone is cheating Disney,They are doing what is allowed.
Coming onto the Dis as a newbie calling people cheaters and such is not a good way to start out  .
If it bothers you that bad dont open threads like this.
You use the plan the way you want to and dont criticize others for the way they use it.they are doing nothing wrong :confused3

Just a warning...any more name calling or personal attacks, and this thread will be closed. Let's all play nice. :)

Whoa! I didn't mean to cause such a stir when I started this thread! I mean it's not like I'm asking if I could use my refillable mugs from my last trip :rolleyes1. But really now, I just wanted to clarify what I was reading on other posts. I don't know if I will even use the credits that way. I don't even know if those are the places where we will be dining. I just wanted to be extra clear on what everyone was saying was possible. Sorry I ruffled anyone's feathers :guilty:

1) There are no child or adult credits.
2) A credit is a credit.
3) The difference is a child MUST order from a children's menu. *

We just returned on the 22nd and the credits are credits. matter of fact we did not get the chance to use any of our snack credits. But a good plan anyway :rotfl:

Yes, we are talking about the same thing. This was our very first TS meal on the plan, and since I had read so much debate here on the DIS about this very thing, I asked her if it could be done...I explained to her that we wanted to pay OOP for the kids meals (thereby saving 2 TS credits) and then use those credits at a later date for an extra TS meal for all of us (actually we were planning on "saving them up" for CG one night. I am pretty sure she fully understood what I was talking about and she said that could not be done on the dining plan. In fact, she basically scoffed at the idea. We didn't bring it up again for the rest of the trip and we gladly paid OOP for some extra meals in order to have more TS meals, which DH and I both prefer over counter service anyway.

That was my experience and that was what I posted based upon. We did notice that within the dining plan perameters, different servers would give us different answers as far as whether the kids could order an appetizer off the adult menu when there weren't any listed on the child's menu, what was considered a snack or an applicable dessert, etc. That's why I say another server may have given us a different answer, but we didn't bring it up anymore and it really didn't bother us or anything. Just be prepared is my message here. :teeth:

LaLa, I feel so bad that you had a CM who didn't know what she was talking about. It could have ended up costing you money, and I'm sure you and your family have worked hard to save up for a Disney Vacation. As you can clearly see by now, there aren't any "child" credits, so you could have just used two TS credits your first meal and saved the TS credits for CG, as the plan allows.

On the Disney Dining Plan, individuals in your party are not awarded credits. All credits are pooled and are available for anyone in your party to use, at anytime.

I only post based on my own experiences. It may have changed since I was there in October, but we actually asked our server at Planet Hollywood about doing this exact thing and she said that no, we could not use the "child" credits that way. And she said it with a laugh at that. Granted, they were all pooled on one resort key, with no distinction, but there were clearly 2 kids in our party and 2 adults.

We had the same trouble at Planet Hollywood also, but I just kindly asked our waitress to talk w/the manager, and she came back and said we could pay OOP for my son's meal. My reason was he was sick, and only wanted french fries, so why waste a full credit on a meal when he was only eating FF.

Also, like one poster said, by the time you add in the cost of paying OOP, I'm sure the credit you are freeing up is almost covered $$ wise. I see no problems paying OOP to free up credits.

If you are suggesting that your niece book the reservation for all of you, then you still have to buy adult packages. If you want to use "her" credits and have her use "your" credits, knock yourself out. If you are suggesting that she only book a package with a children's plan, then you would be cheating since the rules require everybody in the party to buy a package.

And, yes, I know you were just making a point ;) But Disney has rules for lots of things. We shouldn't go making up ones that don't exist.
