Am I being Judgemental?

I would say NO your not being judgemental! I know people just like that and they drive me crazy! It's just sad how so many on goverment assistance can live so well.
Dh and I have a 6 year old son, and we work opposite shifts in order to avoid child care. People like that make me want to scream :scared1: :scared1:

... if I called and got off gov't today, I would struggle some but be ok, but you would still pay taxes and what real difference does that make.

Frankly, you want a real answer? I'd rather my money to go Regina directly.

I have no more comments because I don't have time for my pressure to go up and Ill have to pay for a dr.'s visit and prescription that I could have gotten for free ON THE SYSTEM!!!!! As soon as I was able to get beniefits, I took my kids and I off that and PAY NOW!!!! But I see most people are judgemental reguardless of what you say. And with my $5,800 in refund, I paid all my bills up 6 months, electric, cable, car insurance and rent, and whatever was left over I put aside for my trip. I do not care what you guys say you have no idea what goes on in my life so so be it.

Good for you. That's a good start. I still don't see why if you can get a better paying job, that my tax dollars are supporting your vacation.

As soon as I was able to get beniefits, I took my kids and I off that and PAY NOW!!!! .

That is a great first step!! Good for you! Seriously. I commend you for doing that.

I have always believed in the "teach a man to fish and he can feed himself for a lifetime" philosophy. My frustration is with a system that is so flawed that some of the situations in the posts on this thread are allowed to happen and even encouraged. I just don't get it. Don't think I ever will.

I'm sorry. I don't mean to sound as if I am attacking you.

My two aunts and four cousins were on welfare and WIC all of their lives. I had to start working at a young age to get things I wanted and they got to sit home and watch TV and take Fridays off from school to go to DL with their annual passes still have treats.

I'm sure that is where my frustration is coming from.

MY TAX DOLLARS SUPPORT MY TRIP!!!!! And my family decides if I go to disney world not my job!!!!!

Based on your comments, you receive EIC. There is no way that you paid 5800 in taxes throughout the year to get that much back in the return. Not if you are a preschool teacher at a daycare facility. So, in all acutality, tax money paid your EIC/tax return. This credit is earmarked to help make the difference between the cost of living and the actual amount you make so your children have an appropriate life. Not an optimal life. An approrpiate one. Meaning their basic needs are met and perhaps a nice toy or gift from time to time. My oldest dd was 8 before she saw WDW. For years before, our family "vacations" consisted of a picnic lunch at the beach, which was 45 minutes away. Last year when we went to WDW, we saved $250 per month out of my paycheck for 10 months. This time around, we started saving the next month after we left, but decided not to go in 12 months but in 20 months because we knew our refrigerator was going to go. I think families should take vacations, but I think there are less expensive things that can be done nearby that are more appropriate for others.

You are either a very uneducated person or a liar. You do NOT pay taxes. You get every penny back:rotfl:

I also have a sister that completely beats the system DOWN!!!!! keeps having baies so her food stamps go up and putting her kids on disability and then won't work!!!!! ALL OF THOSE THINGS YOU GUYS ARE SCREAMING ABOUT!!!! I am at a point were I am weening myself off AGAIN and I have a loving family that sees my efforts, so they send me where ever I want. I'm sure after I tell My worker I got a raise last week, I will no longer be eligiible for food stamps, who cares. I would not turn down more pay to stay within the systems "comfort zone". They pay I believe $50 in childcare for my DD a month and I pay the rest and the food stamps that was $100-$200 a months. My pay check has over $100 taken out in taxes each check, then my medical and dental THAT I NOW PAY!!! and my AFLAC in case something happens to me. I by no means sit around, I work 40 hours a week. I go to work everyday and love it. Sorry if I pushed any buttons but someone poshed mines 1st without knowing the whole story, they just stereo type.

I have read every post. I'm sorry I don't understand how you can say this. :confused3

As long as you receive some sort of government assistance, ( as in your food stamps) WE are helping to support your family.

If you are so responsible, take the remainder of that $5800.00, buy some groceries and stop scrounging off your relatives. You are a grown woman, you made your choices, now be responsible.

Taking free handouts from the government as well as relatives, and working a $9.00 an hour job when you could clearly make more is not responsible! Hello!! I'm not that fond of my job either and I would love to work in the Disney store but my job pays 4 times what the Disney store would pay.

I don't know why I'm wasting my fingers typing this though because from your other posts, you feel that its OK to use my money to go to WDW. And I'm sure your kids will do the same. Oh thats right, they won't because you're teaching them "values". :sad2:

Oh BTW, Where do you stay at WDW, Grand Floridian Conceirge?

I live in america and that how it works what am I going to do about that?

They qualify for free lunch, Section 8 housing, food stamps, EIC, etc. yet they can do things like go to Disney:mad:
Just like the DISGUSTING cycle a previous poster mentioned, it goes on and on and on. Children learn this lifestyle from their parents. It continues for generations. They have NO pride. They do not teach PRIDE. They say things like "Well, I work hard. I deserve this!". Um. Hate to break it to ya, we ALL work hard:confused3
There is no longer any shame attached to being on the dole. Read it here. People who are on welfare/receive handouts take YEARLY trips to WDW. They go on cruises. They teach their children "Hey, we rely on the government to feed us, but we can still do this!" We DESERVE it:cool1:
Then their children (because they always have more than one of course!) repeat the cycle.
Again, as times get tough for every working man and woman, this type of bold and shameless behavior will not be looked upon with sympathy much longer.

We're all tired of it:snooty:

I so agree with this and along with pride where's the SHAME??? Maybe like with the Scarlet Letter we need to brand these people in some way to make them ashamed of their actions. I can't fathom being in this situation and telling others. I tell ya OP and all others who have family that do this same thing, I think you all need to speak up and let them know it is not right and you do not approve, let them know that. I'm unpopular in my family because I speak up..have little neice who hangs around loser friends, convicted druggies, then complains how others treat her. I said well its the company you keep if you don't want to be looked down upon get new friends. Let your family members and friends know you don't approve of what they are doing. Maybe if more people were shamed by others things would change a little. And then again maybe not but it makes me feel better anyway getting it out. They need to be held accountable for their actions!!

Just please don't say you pay taxes. That is a lie. An untruth. A fib.

Stop lying to yourself and things may get better.

Also, your children are already behind the eight ball, as their father is in jail for life:guilty:

Please teach those babies about pride. You are not "getting it" right now. They need to be taught how to be responsible. They are not learning that right now.

Everything we are saying is going right over your head:hug:

Good luck to your little ones:cutie: They don't deserve to get caught up in The Cycle.

They deserve better:flower3:

Sure if your tax dollars will pay it,:rotfl: you guy can sit with that thumb up your rumps and enjoy the rest of your evening.

This cracks me up. When my DS was a newborn I used to go on this message board on AOL. At first, it was nice chatting with other new moms about our new babies.

As the months wore on, the posters complained of having no money, their "fiance's " were out all the time. Couldn't wait for their monthly check to come, but they still had their internet, cigarettes and the beer they talked about chugging constantly.

Plenty of trash to go around on this internet, thats for sure!

Thank you I am truly trying (and probably accomplished with this raise) I am almost off. Well my Oldest DD's father is in jail and I keep her in sports and in positive activities (which I pay for also). My 2 younger kids (DS an DD) have the dad on herion, I also keep them busyand my baby will be starting dance classes soon. I truly work hard and struggle and it can get hard to let that extra stuff go, but I did it before and I will do it again. Thanks again hentob. And I understand the tax thing, trust me my aunt and uncle pay taxes and WOW:scared1: . I just have always been the favorite and they spoil me with disney trips and you guys should understand why I am not going to ague with that:goodvibes . Love the pixie dust. I feel better now.

Okay, now you went too far in talking about getting tax money back. I work over 70 hours a week at a good-paying job. As does my husband. We have EXTRA money taken out each paycheck for taxes and we still pay every April. We don't have kids to write off, see.

So, when you are in WDW, please have the balls to at least write me a proper thank you card.
