 Had the best time at Walt Disney World. I was there from 9/29-10/04! We ( DH and DD) went to the MNSSHP on 10/02! Well my DD 3 favorite ride was the Haunted Mansion just like her mom. I think we rode it about 14 times this trip. Any way we just finished dinner at LTT at 4pm and there was no crowds or no people in the Liberty Square area as I think they were closing sections of the park for the party. We walked into the Haunted Mansion and was all alone just my DD and mom. It was such a thrilling experience! Even once we arrived on the Doom Buggie there was still no one on the ride. Will never forget this trip! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :cheer2:

I was gonna say thinking about it gave me the willies. I think it would definetly add a spooky factor to the HM for me.

spooky. that room flips me out anyway, and i'm used to being in thier with a whole room full of people. Glad to hear you had such a magical expereince.

I know what you mean about feeling a bit weird when your the only ones on a "scary ride".

We Rode "HEX" at Alton Towers in England alone. Thats a much darker ride than HM, and was fairly disturbing being alone (even tho we'd ridden it lots of times before etc).

There is a pre show set in the dark in an old, very large country house with 20 foot ceilings...(the original Alton Towers) with lightning, scary music and a window that suddenly opens with the wind howling through it blowing the curtains up and around....dead freaky if its just you and the family.

Then it ends with a really wierd ride thats really hard to describe (all still inside the original Alton Towers building) which normally seats about 160 people, 80 per side facing each other and it slowly swings back and fore in a pendulum until u go upside down but the room its in makes it difficult to tell whats happening, but your head just knows your upside down.

Believe me its a very different experience with Joe Public next to you!

Still remember it!

I'm going solo to THE WORLD and will be sure I go on HM when there's a line out the door! It's my fav at MK, but I'd go a little nutty all by myself in the pre-show. I'd feel like a CM might try to really freak me out and play some kind of joke on me! :scared:

That happened to us at MVMCP one year! The CM working there just kept circling us during the pre-show...it was pretty creepy---but fun! :goodvibes

That would totally freak me out!

I rode POC last week with my 2 year old niece alone. We had nobody else on our boat and no other boats within sight. The beginning of that ride never freaked me out until that day. LOL When it was over and I told my sister (who had just rode the ride before me with my niece) she said it was the same way for her. She then said she now understands why my older niece is afraid of POC and wont ride it. I laughed and told her I thought the same thing!!

Can't imagine doing the HM alone, but I'm glad that you had a great time!

We were there Labor Day week and the HM wasn't empty but when we rode it was almost empty. My kids said it made the pre-show seem spookier because there was hardly anyone there and that set them off so the ride was scary for them. I love HM but they refused to ride again.

:flower:

The last time I rode Haunted Mansion, there were only a couple people of other people, and my DH and I in the stretch room, huddled in the "dead center of the room". When the lights went out, the CM came up to me and said "BOO!" Yes, I screamed, but then laughed about it.

It does seem creepier when there isn't a crowd in there, doesn't it? Can you imagine what it would be like to be a single rider and end up in the stretch room alone?

This happened to us once too.... it was me, my younger dd, both my nephews and my sister. Once we got to the doom buggys my dd freaked out as well as my older nephew so we had to bail. My sister and younger nephew rode... it was just them by their lonesome.

Oh, I did that on Indiana Jones at Disneyland one year. NOONE else was there and I went completely all alone on the ride! I never thought of that ride as scary until that time! It was fantastic.
