Does anyone know if you can get pizza from room service? It is not listed on allears, but I was hoping it just isn't mentioned. We will have the deluxe dining plan and would love to get a pizza in the room on our pool day. Thanks

You can, but the flatbreads from Captain Cooks are significantly better tasting. :thumbsup2

So jealous that some of you are soooooo close to your Disney Poly trip!!! My kids honestly talk about Disney every night while eating dinner..."how much longer mom?", "when can we swim in the volcano pool?". It's always something, so I decided to order them their autograph books and Hidden Mickey book. I gave them their gifts last night. They were so super excited you would have thought it was time to leave. Of course my friends think my family is way over the top with Disney, but who cares?! We love it!

Only 4 more months!!!!!

I am sooo glad you said that! We are the same way. My DH leaves the screen saver as last year's Disney pics so we are reminded daily of our vacation last year and the kids are always seeing the pics and saying, "Remember when we...". Earlier today I called for my middle child to see where he was and he was in the recliner reading WDW for kids!!! So your family is not alone in your LOVE of Disney! :rotfl:

So I am trying to get this all figured out since we have never stayed at a MK resort.

1) We can get to MK by:

Riding the monorail directly from the resort
Taking the Ferry boat from the TTC
Taking the motor launch from the marina dock
Is there an express monorail from the TTC?

2) We can get to Epcot by:

Walking to the TTC and catching the express monorail
Riding the resort monorail around to the TTC and then switching to express
Bus

3) AK/DS/DTD:

Bus

QUESTION: Are there bus stops at both the TTC and the resort (looking at the map, it looks that way) or are they just one place or another?

QUESTION: Can we walk to the GF or CR from the Poly? Does the ferryboat or motor launch stop at either the GF or CR?

I read the transportation info online but somehow these intricate details escaped me!

Thanks for any help!!!:cutie:

We went to Disneyland Ca in 2008 and my youngest was only 3, yet every few days or so (sometimes he will go a couple weeks) he wants to know when we are going back to "the California Disneyland" because he wants to ride the Indiana Jones RIDE (it was closed the day we were there)!!!! That was almost two years ago! Talk about obsessed!!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: "Hopefully" we will get to go again this summer and he will stop BUGGING me about that ride!!!:scared1:

What's a hidden mickey book? that sounds interesting.... is it something you make or buy? does it tell you where they are, or is it a place to log them once you have found them?

Yes on all above :thumbsup2 The transportation from the TTC tends to be much busier than the direct boat from the resort, but the resort boat doesnt start running until 8:30 am.

2) We can get to Epcot by:

Walking to the TTC and catching the express monorail
Riding the resort monorail around to the TTC and then switching to express

Right again! The walk from the furthest building at the Poly to the TTC is maybe 10 minutes. The monorail ride around is about 30 minutes.

3) AK/DS/DTD:

Bus

QUESTION: Are there bus stops at both the TTC and the resort (looking at the map, it looks that way) or are they just one place or another?

For AK and DHS, you can get busses at either the TTC or the resort. for DTD you can only get a bus from the resort.

QUESTION: Can we walk to the GF or CR from the Poly? Does the ferryboat or motor launch stop at either the GF or CR?

You can walk to the GF from the Poly, and teh boat launch goes there after it goes to the MK. For the Contemporary you can:

a) Ride the resort monorail

or

b) Take the boat to the MK and walk to the Contemporary from there.

Are there lockers at the pool? I always worry about leaving my room key and whatever else I might have in a chair. I'm so paranoid that someone could walk off with it! Thanks!

No lockers. It's pretty safe to leave your things on the chairs or tables there. I wouldn't leave it out in full view-but maybe tucked in your shoe or wrapped in a shirt...

There actually are some lockers under the volcano, and some at the marina.

We are 3 days out!! Am I crazy to request a ground floor room with 2 kids aged 2 and 4 so we can easily have a back door to do a beer run etc without waking the kids? We def want out door space so it sounds like a 2nd floor room won't work for most long houses.

TIA!

Yawn...

Leaving at 4am to make the big drive to the Poly!!!

We won't make it till Monday afternoon but our adventure begins in 9 hrs!!

We leave from MA on Tuesday. Wooohoooo!!!! Made a ground floor room request facing water. Let's see what happens :)

WOW, there are a lot of lucky travelers leaving very soon for the Poly! Have a safe trip everyone and enjoy!

You are NOT crazy. We did this exact same thing, twice now. First time kids were 3 and almost 5, second time 5 and almost 7. It works so well, you feel like you have so much extra space. First trip, both kids napped and DH and I would sit just outside the door, reading, etc. Could take turns going for walks, getting snacks, etc. without disturbing the kids. Second trip, only DD napped, DS would spend most of that time chasing lizards around outside the door! Next trip neither will nap, but we'll still make that request, still good for nights (if kids go to bed first) and still that extra room. Kids like to play outside on the grass with DH (check out the ducks and lizards, etc.) while I finish getting ready.

On our beach trips, where we get a condo, we prefer a high floor for the view. But there we have a separate bedroom(s) so we don't need the extra space. With 4 of us in 1 room for a week - any extra space is Great!

THANKS for all the great answers. I actually didn't know a few of them! Very helpful for planning!!!

And to all you leaving this weekend, Happy travels! What a great time to go! Have a wonderful trip!!!:wizard:

Someone mentioned the garden grocer earlier. I've been trying to check out the website for our future trip & the link is not working. I've been trying for a few days now. Is anyone else having this problem? Are they still in business??

Yikes -- I couldn't open it either. Hopefully it's just a server thing -- I'd be really sad if they went out of business.:sad2:
