ALOHA to Hawaii ~ April 29 - May 14, 2012 Part 5

Way to much in my opinion. Maybe 1/2 to 3/4 of the day will be more than enough.

Phew! I was getting worried about the waits. We don't do the parks commando so my 'whole day' was maybe 4-5 hours. Then we do other stuff. I was thinking if waits were an hour or more than I might need a couple of days. I will take it as it comes. Thanks!

Oh if your whole day is only 4-5 hours then yes one day might be enough. Depends on the lines for the Flying Tires and Racers.

Does anyone have pictures of the Hawaii specific merchandise available on the ship?

Thanks,

Alan, I give your review on Cars Land a HANDS UP!! We also went to the AP preview. My daughters favorite ride was the tires also. Hopefully they will get the time loading/unloading down and that the wait in line won't be so bad.
The lines for the Cone snack places was the worst part of Cars Land.
Also, in the stores on Buena Vista Street it was obvious that they had a lot of new cast members maning the store.
When will you be going to the Carthy Restaurant to give your review? We have reservations to take my husband for Father's Day.
Thanks for posting the pictures.

I just wanted to share this. I went to Cars Land yesterday. There was no restrictions on cameras or posting to social media. I can see why the Tires are getting a bad review as it takes double the amount of time to unload then load the ride than you spend riding the ride. With that said once the wife and I figured out how to do control the tires, man it was fun and we both loved it. As a matter of fact it was my wife's favorite ride. Here is a pic right before it started.

We also liked the Junkyard Jamboree. I think this will be a sleeper hit. It was just fun, and we were laughing most of the time on the ride in a good way.

Then racers. No Fastpass was offered . Single rider was offered and I used it twice. I waited in the stand by line once to to see it. It has a really cool bottle building. The ride itself I give a A- it gets the minus because I wish durring the race part you go faster. A CM told me the ride goes 45. Since this is like Test Track I think it should have gone at least 55 or so. Still it's a great ride.

We ate food from both Flo's

and the Cozy Cone motel.

All were very good. All in all Cars Land is AMAZING. I love what WDI can do when they are given money.

Thank you for sharing these awesome pictures. We hated that we missed it by just a few weeks. Would have been great if the cruise return was after this opened:)

Thank you for the compliment. I agree about the Cones, very slow and I think that needs to be worked on. The food was good though. I think overall they did a fantastic job with Buena Vista street as well. DCA is now a park I want to go to. As for Carthay, you will be going before me, so I will rely on you for the reviews. I may go on 6/29 before the AP World of Color event that night.

Thanks Alan for posting pictures. It looks great. Maybe we will visit next year after WBPC cruise.

We are going to DL Oct 22-29. We are taking a 13yo, granddaughter of our friends, for her first visit. :dance3: We are excited, she is beyond excited!! :woohoo::yay: We have 4 days in the parks so hopefully we will get to see/do all the new stuff at CA. We also want to take her to the beach one day since it is also her first trip to CA, first plane ride as well.

Does anyone know the origin of the lime green for the Disboards? I have been on here for a few years but don't know how it got started.

At least 10-12 years that I know of, but don't know the origin.

I'll check my scrapbook stuff, I might have the chunk of fabric you seek - gave most of it to Jan.

:thumbsup2 If you have some left and can share, that would be great. All you sent me has been made into shirts or sundresses for Mascots (even Big Goofy's vest!) or bracelets or tiny draws string bags for a lipstick and KTTW card.
