ALOHA to Hawaii ~ April 29 - May 14, 2012 Part 5

I am so excited that my kids and I will be spending next spring break on Kauai!! My friend and I Tubed the Ditch while on the cruise and I will definitely be taking my kids to do the same. I'd to hear from others, especially those who booked things indepedently, and see what you enjoyd doing while on Kauai. Whenever we go to Hawaii, it is all about the beach and relaxation but I'd like to throw in some excursions as well.

Kipu Ranch ATVing! In our group there were 3 kids, aged 4 - 15 and they all had an amazing time! I would definitely do that again if we were on Kauai again!

I'm on the October cruise and we're booking our own flights home. I was wondering if anyone in April can give me some information on the trip home. What is the earliest flight that you feel can be safely booked for the return trip out of LAX? What time did you begin debarkation? (I've seen some posts regarding "calling luggage tags" and I'm wondering if debarkation has changed; on past cruises, we just excited the ship when we were ready to do so). We don't want to end the cruise running off the ship to rush to airport but we are curious as to the flight times out of LAX. THANK YOU!

Want to add that I've enjoyed reading the blogs and reviews that I've seen! The pictures are GORGEOUS!! Thanks again!

Linda

Our flight was at 12:20pm and we were this first group off the ship. We got to LAX and through security around 10am

This looks awesome! Did you do the ranch or waterfall one? I'm curious if all of my kids could do the hiking part. Dd will be 5 1/2 at the time.

We were given the early departure information by mistake so got a chance to read it. They had specific luggage lags and a meeting place and time for people needing to disembark first.

We were in that early group. We met at WD Theater. Just ask at Guest Services if you have an early flight and are not booked with DCL for flights. They had no problem issuing those first off tags to us.

Make "page kits" - the photos, paper or cardstock, any embellishment for that page stuffed in a page protector to be "artistically assembled later":lmao:

If you don't get the photos you need by then, Jan, remind me at Thanksgiving - I will seek out the cast members and take their photos on the EBPC.

My only decided layouts are the one from your class :). In the back of my mind I remember you daughter coming by and taking names to send a missing piece for one of the layouts, but I don't remember what it was and if the piece had been found by the end of class. Is there something missing? I did not totally complete each layout because I like to move embellishments around to allow for as many photos as possible, so can't tell anything by looking:).

Thanks for explaining your kitting system!
And
For the offer to get the photos. I will let you know. I did get one already that I like.

Sorry, Not my class! You want to ask Linda aka Seaulater!

Did someone mention pictures? I have spent-FOREVER- downloading our pictures to Costco for printing and just FINISHED! Since I scrapbook I tend to crop all the pictures before ordering...plus it helps me decide which one I can eliminate... this time I did not find enough to eliminate  For those that didn't already know we did not come straight home..just got home 6 days ago and we continued to take pictures as we went along :confused3 Really need to get control of this hobby. After eliminating over 1000 prints, 5 days of working on this every available moment, doing the cards from 2 cameras I ended up over 3100 prints plus 102 5x7's being printed. This also included cruise CD and Disneyland CD. I will be spending the next umteen months scrapbooking all this...should keep me out of trouble until time to get ready for Christmas :rotfl2: Now I have to figure out how to post on the site Angel set up to share photos, only ones that others haven't. Unbelievably I have looked at only a few of the photos there so far and have some I want to order. :sad1: really have a problem when with this many pictures I missed some!

I started last night as well but have not even added photos...Still loading the paper items I wanted to keep and the formal photos, navigators and the like. I was off line when the link to the shared site was posted so I shall have to go look. I know I want some shared.....but I need to limit myself. I have thought of sending photos to print, but I like to use different sizes, so it is easier to print the size for the spot that remains on the page....

Can I print all of the photos 1 inch by 1 inch so I have room for them all:lmao:

I have a similar version of kitting....and started that....found an entire binder of additional items I have yet to look through as I am now out of pocket pages. Oh well...back to the store...

Enjoy your day everyone....

We did stop at a Farmer's Market and enjoyed the local fruit....Yummy.

I went to Wildwood farmer's market this morning....Florida blackberries, tomatoes, sugar snap peas, watermelon, peaches from South Carolina! mmmmmmmm

Same thing for us. We just went to Guest Services and asked for the last group. We wanted the last group so we didn't have to wait as long at LAX. I believe the first group off was Aerial.

We did the waterfall one, and my son is the young one. The "hike" consists of a short walk down a narrow path (little bit slippery) to the falls. Very beautiful and a ton of movies have been filmed on the ranch.

I just wanted to share this. I went to Cars Land yesterday. There was no restrictions on cameras or posting to social media. I can see why the Tires are getting a bad review as it takes double the amount of time to unload then load the ride than you spend riding the ride. With that said once the wife and I figured out how to do control the tires, man it was fun and we both loved it. As a matter of fact it was my wife's favorite ride. Here is a pic right before it started.

We also liked the Junkyard Jamboree. I think this will be a sleeper hit. It was just fun, and we were laughing most of the time on the ride in a good way.

Then racers. No Fastpass was offered . Single rider was offered and I used it twice. I waited in the stand by line once to to see it. It has a really cool bottle building. The ride itself I give a A- it gets the minus because I wish durring the race part you go faster. A CM told me the ride goes 45. Since this is like Test Track I think it should have gone at least 55 or so. Still it's a great ride.

We ate food from both Flo's

and the Cozy Cone motel.

All were very good. All in all Cars Land is AMAZING. I love what WDI can do when they are given money.

thanks for posting your pics from Cars Land....we can't wait to see it in October....BTW...it didn't look too busy in your pictures (read on the Dis that wait times for Radiator Springs was close to 3 hours) and trying to get food was impossible....were you there as part of the AP Preview that you purchased tickets for?

Yes it was a AP preview. Our ticket was 50 a person. Well worth it as they are expecting 3+ hour long waits for Racers starting Friday when it opens to the public. I am happy for single rider line.

Those were fantastic pics! Thanks for posting! Can't wait! We are going the first week in October for 5 days. I plan on devoting 2 whole days to Cars Land, lol. I hope it's enough!

Way to much in my opinion. Maybe 1/2 to 3/4 of the day will be more than enough.
