ALOHA to Hawaii ~ April 29 - May 14, 2012 Part 5

I find that my pictures of some CMs did not come out well. I would like face shots of:
Becky from New York and Hawaii of Cruise Staff
Efrain (Ephrain?) from Mexico of Guest Services
Nita from India of Guest Services

Pictures can be group shots as I can crop what I want.

Thanks in advance!
Jan

Did anyone get the answers to the Scavenger Hunt that Corrina organized? I am curious about some of the answers.

I'm on the October cruise and we're booking our own flights home. I was wondering if anyone in April can give me some information on the trip home. What is the earliest flight that you feel can be safely booked for the return trip out of LAX? What time did you begin debarkation? (I've seen some posts regarding "calling luggage tags" and I'm wondering if debarkation has changed; on past cruises, we just excited the ship when we were ready to do so). We don't want to end the cruise running off the ship to rush to airport but we are curious as to the flight times out of LAX. THANK YOU!

Want to add that I've enjoyed reading the blogs and reviews that I've seen! The pictures are GORGEOUS!! Thanks again!

Oops, I totally forgot. I have been chasing my tail ever since I got back. It is not clever to go on vacation for nearly a month and then go on jury duty only two weeks after getting back. I started my jury duty today so I have a bit more time for the next three weeks. I will unearth the answers shortly and will post them.

Unless you hand carry your own luggage off, you need to wait for your luggage tag color to be called. We were in the third color group and it was well after 9 am before we were called (1st seating breakfast). We made it to SNA around 11 am.

I am so excited that my kids and I will be spending next spring break on Kauai!! My friend and I Tubed the Ditch while on the cruise and I will definitely be taking my kids to do the same. I'd to hear from others, especially those who booked things indepedently, and see what you enjoyd doing while on Kauai. Whenever we go to Hawaii, it is all about the beach and relaxation but I'd like to throw in some excursions as well.

HAWAIIAN SHIRTS, HAWAIIAN SHIRTS

I have been awol for a while trying to catch up and not succeeding. One small item, anyone need any Hawaiian shirts. We cleaned the closet and have some nice, hardly worn size large, some may be suitable for ladies.

I can take them to the donation box or ask this crazy group if anyone is interested. So PM me.....I am not "selling them", but I might take you up on postage reimbursement.

Now back to the list of things to do from the trip.
1. Read thread.
2. Download pictures.
3. Start scrapbook.
4. Edit pictures.
5. did I mention pictures?

If you are on a flight that is noonish you can go to Guest Services and request tags in the first group.

I am enjoying reading the reports, info and Navigators. We are sailing on the October Hawaii cruise and all of this is helpful. It's also cool to see so many familiar faces/names on this thread as well.
Sorry to hear the weather and seas weren't the best for you--I'm hoping ours is a bit better in October.

Did someone mention pictures? I have spent-FOREVER- downloading our pictures to Costco for printing and just FINISHED! Since I scrapbook I tend to crop all the pictures before ordering...plus it helps me decide which one I can eliminate... this time I did not find enough to eliminate  For those that didn't already know we did not come straight home..just got home 6 days ago and we continued to take pictures as we went along :confused3 Really need to get control of this hobby. After eliminating over 1000 prints, 5 days of working on this every available moment, doing the cards from 2 cameras I ended up over 3100 prints plus 102 5x7's being printed. This also included cruise CD and Disneyland CD. I will be spending the next umteen months scrapbooking all this...should keep me out of trouble until time to get ready for Christmas :rotfl2: Now I have to figure out how to post on the site Angel set up to share photos, only ones that others haven't. Unbelievably I have looked at only a few of the photos there so far and have some I want to order. :sad1: really have a problem when with this many pictures I missed some!

We ate breakfast at BBB and then rolled our luggage off the ship and were at Long Beach airport by 9:30.

I tend to have to see them in print before I can crop - but I know I printed a shoebox full! All the pages are 'kitted', the dross pitched and i'm ready to scrap. We'll see how much I accomplish at this weekend's crop. I haven't dared look at the shared site.

Happy day, all!

We snorkeled with ALOHA KAUAI TOURS. They do other things besides shorkeling excursions so you could call the boss, Terri and ask what they can do for you. She is SWEET!

1-800-452-1113
1-808-245-6400 (I have free long distance so used this number rather than letting her pay for my use of the toll free number.)

Our driver was Paul and he is FUNNY! He made sound effects of birds, animals, vehicles, etc. It took us a while to wake up enough to appreciate him because the excursion started early on the fourth day of port-intensive days.

Have a great time. It was a lovely place!

We ate breakfast at BBB and then rolled our luggage off the ship and were at Long Beach airport by 9:30.

We were given the early departure information by mistake so got a chance to read it. They had specific luggage lags and a meeting place and time for people needing to disembark first.

According to our Disembarkation handout, DCL considers any flight out of LAX before 12:30pm to be early flights. They do assign luggage tags/disembarkation order the night before when they deliver the tags. According to the Disembarkation handout, "Due to terminal regulations you will be refused entry to the luggage area unless you are in possession of a luggage tag which had already been called."

All guests must vacate their cabins prior to 8:30am. Breakfast is served between 7:15 and 8:30am and all guests must disembark the ship by 9:45am.

I seem to have lost my notes from that day, but we were either 2nd or 3rd group called with grey Daisy tags and we took a Prime Time Shuttle. Loading the shuttle seemed the biggest delay. I know we were at LAX between 10 and 11am for our 1:30pm flight. Given what I know now, I still would not book a flight before 12:30pm.

Hope that helps, Debbie

I posted this question on the main thread but haven't gotten any responses, so I thought I'd post here for my oh so experienced fellow cruises. First day on the ship DD had me buy her an arcade card and she wanted one of the more expensive ones because she was SO sure she would use it a lot. Wouldn't you know - she used it the first day only! I know, I know - out of 15 days cruising! Can we use this card on our Magic cruise next April or are the cards only good for the cruise you are on?

 "kitted" ?? :confused3

Make "page kits" - the photos, paper or cardstock, any embellishment for that page stuffed in a page protector to be "artistically assembled later":lmao:

If you don't get the photos you need by then, Jan, remind me at Thanksgiving - I will seek out the cast members and take their photos on the EBPC.
