ALOHA! The Polynesian Resort Information Thread: Summer 2011 Edition!

Ok poly newb here, what is the club level about from what I have already, being tpv level.

I'm starting to feel like I made the wrong choice with the CL. Don't see alot of info on it. Doesn't anyone stay there? We are there in 23 days and now I'm having second thoughts. We got a garden view. Should I request a certain floor. I think someone had said the 3rd floor because of the balcony. Any last minute tips or ideas would be great. I am taking my 12 year old niece and my 16 year old nephew.
Thanks in advance.
Lori

We love staying GV CL. With the ages of your niece and nephew it will be nice for you to have the soda and snacks and the extra space of the lounge.

I always request third floor. We like to hang out on the balcony and it is a nice view of the quiet pool. The lounge will be nice if it is a cool night, you can sit in there and watch the fireworks and enjoy some of the evening goodies :goodvibes

If you have any other questions...there are a lot of CL veterans on here :thumbsup2

Happy planning :wizard:

Are all third floors CL?

The Hawaii building is the CL building. There is TPV, GV, and LV. Not sure what the upgrade would be from TPV to CL but it may be comparable to CL GV maybe. I wanted to upgrade last year from GV to CL GV but there was only Cl TPV available and the cost difference was about $1200 or so for 1 week @ 40% off pin code. I would do a general look at regular pricing on the allears.net room categories for the Poly to see the price difference. I have heard the Poly's CL is one of the best and the TPV from the Hawaii building is good.

Ohh wow they can keep CL. Do that is the only CL building? I am requesting 3rd floor Tuvalu building and wanted to make sure we weren't asking for something that would cost more.

Where are the closest rooms to the gift shop and restaurants? Are there elevators? We will be there on the 31st. Getting excited. Where is the best area to see fireworks?

Hey Carrie, pmaurer74, mesaboy2, and maiapapaya.

Just got off the phone with the actual room assignment contact at POLY and I have a third floor TPV View in the Tuvalu Building reserved. She will hold it for me when it gets to five days out.

Hi Carrie,
This will be our first stay at the Polynesian as well. We have a Lagoon view and I am also wondering if you have any suggestions for better buildings, floors, etc. to request. We are travelling with our DS who is 7 and our best friend's DS who are 10 and 6. This is my bucket list resort - so I am hoping to make the most of this stay!!
Thanks for any info you can send my way!
Jocelyn

If you check out post number 3 on the first page, you will see a google map of the resort and that will help you figure out what building to request. Also, look for Tikiman Pages on the web. He is the expert at the Polynesian reort and has awesome pages for you to scroll through and get some good information.

Awesome Pixie Dust! Sounds delightful!

Question to all you POLY Experts

Does anyone have really good shots of the water side of the Tuvalu Building aka the TPV side?

Hello and thanks to everyone for the wonderful advice and tips!

I have a question regarding rooms. We've booked a TPV room for a week at the end of April. I initially requested a first floor room so my 73 year old mother in law and 4 year old so could scoot out to the beach. Looking at the pictures from several posts should I reconsider and get make a 3rd floor request for the view? We are requesting the Tahiti longhouse due to the proximity to the TTC.
We like the pool, but being from Arizona we have one and it's not as big of a deal even for our son. We plan most days to be in the parks and spend minimal time at the pool.

Thanks in advance for your advice and opinions.

My mother in law doesn't require a scooter (ECV)....I meant that they (we) could enjoy the beach by simply walking out of our room. She's a bit slower than the 4 year old (aren't we all), but still gets around ok. The proximity to the TTC would be nice for her as well.

107 days until our Trip to the Poly!

Just got the Poly for January 27th thru Feb 1st! Its just my DS (14) and I. We have never stayed at a monorail resort and we are bursting at the seams ready to go!
:yay:

Excellent - congratuations! You will love it!!
Regarding your earlier question (if no one else has answered it) Hawaii is the only CL building, so you won't get that extra charge in Tuvalu.

If you want to be near the TTC then Tahiti is the building to request for a TPV room. First floor vs third is really a preference - third floor you'll have a better view, but first floor will give you more outdoor space (because you will be able to go right out onto the lawn/beach). It depends what is more important to you. Either way I'm sure you will love your TPV!

Hi all,
Just wondering if the Poly has free WiFi? Staying Jan 18-22
thanks :cool1:

To confirm what Venomhatch said, we were at the Poly the last week of October and there was free WiFi.

Congratulations - but be warned, you will become addicted! :lovestruc

How did you get ahold of that type of person? I'd didn't know they could hold specific requests like that...

Well I have been communicating with the Room Assignment managers for both POR and POLY for a while so they have gotten to know me.

Hello all. I am like some of the newbies to this thread. I was upgraded due to the Royal Rooms at POR not being ready. My wife and I are really excited about this. When we were given a choice for which deluxe resort we would like we jumped at the chance to be in one of the original resort at Disney.

I am sure this has already been asked but we are overwhelmed with info. We have been moved into a GV room. Which building should we request and what is the best way to make our request?

Thanks in advance.
