ALOHA! The Polynesian Resort Information Thread: Summer 2011 Edition!

Maryj11 you will arrive right after I do! Everyone leaving soon have a great trip! Not counting today, we have exactly two weeks!!!! Yea!!! I need a vacation like no bodys business... 2011 has been a very rough year!

But it is less than a mile. Is there really NO way to walk at all? Fields? Grass on the side of the road? Through the trees? Along the lake shore?

There literally is no (even fairly) safe way for you to walk). You would have to literally cross a 6 lane highway with no crosswalk at all, plus walk alongside a 4 land divided road with no sidewalks either.

Just booked Poly CL! :cloud9: :lovestruc :cool1: Leaving in just 67 days!!!! :woohoo: I can't wait!!!!!!!!! I will be sure to come back here and update you guys with the link to my live trip report and my twitter too. :cheer2: I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!! :dance3:

Congrats! I remember you from the Disney special! Poly CL is sooo relaxing.. We will be there in 2 weeks!

The resort monorail is your quickest option to MK. The boat from the Polynesian is not that much longer, BUT you could wait longer for a boat than a monorail if one has just left OR they aren't running as early as you would like to leave.

Ok thank you :thumbsup2

Wow your right, Im getting anxious I have never stayed at the Poly before !:cheer2:

Hello
Aside from taxi, what would be quickest and easiest way back and forth from Poly to Wilderness Lodge? It looks pretty close on Google Earth, is it walkable?

But it is less than a mile. Is there really NO way to walk at all? Fields? Grass on the side of the road? Through the trees? Along the lake shore?

There is not a safe and feasible way to walk. I prefer taking the monorail to the Contemporary and then taking the boat to Wilderness Lodge. That way, I don't have to wait in the chaos of MK transportation and I get to check out the Contemporary and do some shopping there :thumbsup2

This is completely off topic, but I couldn't stop myself. So excited - we leave in three days!!:banana:

I also have to display some excitement!!! We leave in 4 days!:cool1::cool1::banana::banana:

YEAH!!!

So which would be fastest to get to MK ?

Monorail

Yay.... We leave in 4 days from today too!!! I working the next few days so I am almost all packed already !!!:cool1::cool1::cool1::yay::yay::yay:

Yippee!!!

Have fun to all that are leaving in the next few days!!!

:wizard: Monorail, but really the water taxi is pretty quick as well. We usually take monorail to Magic Kingdom it seems faster and were excited to get there in morning, after a long park day were ready for a more relaxed ride on the water taxi back home (POLY):thumbsup2 Last time after we left Magic Kingdom it was just in time for EWP (electrical water pageant) and we saw all the boats in front of us with lights off then right in front of POLY they turned on with music and we had front boat seats to it hehe, it was magical!

Do you know if the water taxi will be running after MK closes an hour late because if the electrical parade and wishes. Or if it is do you think it will be to crowded with everyone leaving at once ?

We leave tomorrow for 12 days at Poly.We are celebrating my dh's 40th(next month)and also celebrating him finishing his weight loss of 140 pounds:cool1:took him 14 months to do,has been steadyat 185pds for 2 months now and he can't wait to do disney skinny!!I am exhusted and I have been battling an allergic reaction to something that has been causing hives and swelling all over me since Monday but I went to dr and I am armed with steroids and allergy meds so hopefully I will be able to walk tomorrow-if not you will see a red splotchy girl limping around with a big smile on my face because I am back at the POly:goodvibesNow I just have to get my suitcases under 50 pds and I am set!

Congrats to all those leaving this coming weekend and week!! Have a great time and let us know how it all went. We dont go till next year and we are just in early stages of planning.

I do have a questions with regard to the dining plan...we will be there a full week from Sunday to Sunday...do we still get 3 meals on the day of check in ( we have the deluxe dining plan) ?? and on the morning we leave, it looks as if right now we will have a few extra TS meals left--can we use them for breakfast or do they all expire the morning you leave?? I would like to know the answer if possible. thanks so much...you all are great!!

No matter what mode of transport you take it will be crowded after park closing. Yes the water taxi will be running because its within one hour of park closing, the park is open for electrical parade and wishes. So within one hour of normal park closing all transportation will be available for WDW resort guests, now after EMH (extra magic hour) bus transportation is the only means available.

Thank you all for your well wishes! :goodvibes Had to drop my oldest off at college today, and the imminent trip to Disney is what got me through it - how pathetic is that..:rotfl2:

Divaofdisney: DDP (and I would think deluxe also) is based on number of nights you are staying. You get the allotted meals/snacks per night (not day), so Sunday night thru Saturday night is 7 nights (which means you multiply the daily allotment by 7 for each person on the plan). That sounds more confusing than it is. You can use the credits on whichever days and however you choose. Hope that helps. :thumbsup2

Hey anything that makes it easier! I think it will be a great distraction for you. Have fun and enjoy!:wizard:
