As of June 1st the machines both in the lounge and captain cooks were still Nescafé. The machines in the lounge have the options of coffee, espresso, cappuccino, latte, mocha latte, and hot chocolate.

Thanks! Ill have to opt for the espresso ones!

I am staying at the Poly in early December and have a monorail ? For the experts


I have a 7:00am reservation for Chef Mickeys, does the monorail start running early enough to get me over to the Contemporary on time for my reservation?

As many of you know, I am going to enjoy GV CL at the POLY in July and am wondering two things...do the GV CL rooms have balconies or do I have to request a certain floor for this? Also, I asked in another thread as well...are there only a certain number of CL rooms so that crowd level in the lounge/lounges? is not an issue....you certainly pay for that opportunity to be there...yikes! And for those of you that braved CL Poly in July...is it really too crowded to enjoy the pools? I keep seeing opinions saying just that....again...yikes! Thanks for your input...

There are 3 floors. The 3rd floor rooms all have balconies. The 2nd floor rooms have no balcony, only a railing. The 1st floor rooms have patios. All CL rooms are in the Hawaii building and the building is locked. Plus the lounge is on the 2nd floor. So you won't have to worry about people coming from other non-CL rooms to the lounge. They would have to sneak in through a locked door and up the stairs past two desks of CL castmembers. So no worries there. As for the pools, yes they can be crowded in the summer time but that's true of all resorts.

We have been at the Poly a few times when it was fully booked and the pool has never felt truly cramped. Sure, if you want a table you will have to get there early, but we have always found a seat to put our things on and more than enough swimming space to enjoy ourselves.

We just returned from our stay in the Hawaii club level. Wonderful place and good location although the winding trail for the handicap accessible area was a bit scary for my MIL. The plants had grown over much of the path. The first couple of times we made sure one of us went with her.
We were on the 3rd floor so no snakes as someone feared. There were those tiny lizards everywhere. Not just at Disney but at Universal as well.
There are still hot and cold beverages available all evening. Snacks were wonderful. We found we ended up wasting several of our counter service meals because we ate in the lounge instead.
I did miss the clothes line in the shower to hang swimsuits. Thankfully I read on here about that and brought a few pant/skirt hangers , those cheep plastic ones you get when you buy clothes. I ended up leaving them there along with my over the door shoe hanger. I know maid service threw them out but hey it left room for all the stuffed animals my daughter talked my husband into buying.
The view from the lounge for the fireworks is great IF you can get a seat early in those big comfy chairs.

As the pp said, first floor rooms have patios, 2nd floor rooms have a railing right next to the sliding door (no balcony to step out on), and 3rd floor rooms have balconies. If you want a balcony, you would have to request a 3rd floor room on your reservation .

Can you tell me a bit more about the "fake balcony" on second floor? Does the sliding door open to the outside to allow for fresh air? TIA

I'm back!! DH gave the green light to start planning 2014. We loved the Poly so much when we visited in May 2012 and we can't wait to see the remodel! What we can't decide is whether to do land and sea (3 nights on the dream and 3 at Poly) or just land like last year...DD has never been on a cruise or to an ocean for that matter...but our trip last May was awesome...oh the decisions...lol

Congrats on starting to plan for 2014. Doing land and sea is a great idea as it gives you the best of both worlds . We are taking our first DCL cruise (3 nights) in December with a WDW stay before and after the cruise (ending with Poly CL). Have fun planning .

Hello! After 4 visits to Disney & Shades of Green, we are finally staying at Poly (Kona is my favorite place to eat!). Does anyone know how tall kiddos need to be to go on slide? I've read a bunch of posts but don't have time for all 240 pages, any musts do or don't for Poly? Thanks!!

No height restriction for the slide, but they have to be able to go down alone. They can wear a vest (one you bring or you can get one free from the marina for the length of your stay) You can also stay off to the side at the bottom and help them if needed after they come off. You can't "catch" them per se, but that current is strong for little ones and you can definitely help them. My daughter was barely 3 on our first trip and loved the slide!

There was a wee little one maybe just barely three, using swimmies last week and having a blast! He made my 2 year old very jealous lol. She thought she was going to be able to use the slide as well and was very disappointed when I told her no.
