After having to change my vacation a few times (hubby's job)...I finally BOOKED today!!! Thank you to all of you and your fabulous posts. I booked 3 nites at POR Riverside and 4 nites at the POLY! So excited! I finally chose GV, CL at Poly after debating and pricing for hours! :goodvibes

We just upgraded to the Poly for our short trip next week! So excited to be returning to my favorite resort. We chose a standard room...which bldgs have that as an option? Not sure I will go through the trouble of requesting anything, but I would like to know what some of the possibilities are. Ironically, we will only be going to Epcot, so would like to be close to TTC.

Thanks!

Have a great trip and enjoy the Poly :goodvibes. We love Samoa for a standard/GV room.

here are a couple of photos from the balcony of tokelau 2905 during Wishes:

and in the daytime:

Nice pics....thanks for sharing :).

Congrats on booking the Poly :dance3:.

All the longhouses except Hawaii and Tonga have standard view rooms. If you are going to Epcot Tahiti is the closest one to the TTC, and Rapi Nui is also pretty close.

Hi all of you Poly experts! We are DW vets, but always have stayed at value/mods. This is our first stay at a deluxe! Yay!! :cool1:

Question...it looks like (from the pics that I saw anyway) that the rooms are NOT the motel type of exterior entry doors that we are used to at value/mods. Looks like you enter the Longhouse and access your room that way, correct? In our past stays at value/mods, we have always requested a ground floor room (much easier with 2 strollers...no stairs or elevator). I'm assuming the ground floor rooms at Poly are the same arrangement, no stairs or elevators, right?

My concern about staying on the ground level is...this may sound stupid...but snakes! I can picture my little girls going in and out of that sliding door to the patio, and I have this fear that a snake will slither into the room from the grass that appears to be right next to the patio.

Am I over thinking this??? Should I worry about snakes?? And those with multiple strollers, do you request a ground floor, or do you just deal with the elevators and stay on an upper floor?

Thanks disfriends! :thumbsup2

You're right, you go into a longhouse, & ground level is easy to get to. I wouldn't worry about snakes. We've never had an issue nor have we've seen any there, lots of lizards though & ducks.

lizards are everywhere! I swear, I felt like I was in Juraissic Park some times, start down a sidewalk and they scatter in all directions. Not the little green ones either, these looked vaguely prehistoric.......

Teeheehee. Love those little buggers! When ds was small I used to have him count how many we saw from the time we left our room and walked to bus stop just to keep him amused. Now that he 15 I don't have to amuse him anymore but I can't quite seem to stop myself from counting them.:confused3

Aloha

We just returned from our stay in the Hawaii club level. Wonderful place and good location although the winding trail for the handicap accessible area was a bit scary for my MIL. The plants had grown over much of the path. The first couple of times we made sure one of us went with her.
We were on the 3rd floor so no snakes as someone feared. There were those tiny lizards everywhere. Not just at Disney but at Universal as well.
There are still hot and cold beverages available all evening. Snacks were wonderful. We found we ended up wasting several of our counter service meals because we ate in the lounge instead.
I did miss the clothes line in the shower to hang swimsuits. Thankfully I read on here about that and brought a few pant/skirt hangers , those cheep plastic ones you get when you buy clothes. I ended up leaving them there along with my over the door shoe hanger. I know maid service threw them out but hey it left room for all the stuffed animals my daughter talked my husband into buying.
The view from the lounge for the fireworks is great IF you can get a seat early in those big comfy chairs.
Too much to remember it all. If you have any questions just ask. Hopefully I can answer.

Thanks for your report! Are the Nescafé machines still there or has it been updated to Joffery's? What espresso drinks can you get? Can't wait for our first CL stay in July!!!

Trying to decide what floor to request for our trip next month. We are staying club level and I am trying to understand the "fake balcony" in second floor rooms. Is there a door/window that opens to the outside? TIA

As many of you know, I am going to enjoy GV CL at the POLY in July and am wondering two things...do the GV CL rooms have balconies or do I have to request a certain floor for this? Also, I asked in another thread as well...are there only a certain number of CL rooms so that crowd level in the lounge/lounges? is not an issue....you certainly pay for that opportunity to be there...yikes! And for those of you that braved CL Poly in July...is it really too crowded to enjoy the pools? I keep seeing opinions saying just that....again...yikes! Thanks for your input...:)

As of June 1st the machines both in the lounge and captain cooks were still Nescafé. The machines in the lounge have the options of coffee, espresso, cappuccino, latte, mocha latte, and hot chocolate.
