Could someone give me some details on the breakfast available in the Hawaii club lounge? We are going for a week and I'm curious whether we should do that everyday or if we should plan on doing a few character meals. I was hoping to just do the club lounge (since we're already paying for it!!), but there are 10 in our group and I'm wondering if there is enough variety each day to hold everyone's interest for that long? Is the same thing everyday or does it change each day? Is there any hot food at all or is it pure continental breakfast?

Thank you!!

I read on another Disney site that Hawaii may be opening back up today? Just wondering if we might get some pictures of the new rooms! Anyone?

We haven't been there since 2011, so this may have changed, but the only hot food they had was oatmeal (with different toppings - raisins, brown sugar). They did have bagels, assorted mini muffins, croissants, 3-4 different cold cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt (although I think we had to ask for the yogurt?). Can't remember if there was anything else, but our family was easily able to use this for breakfast each morning. As far as changing each day - I think just the type of muffin changed? Again, others can chime in here!

With a group that large it will be hard to please everyone! Don't forget about Cap'n Cooks. Since you get free beverages and stuff at CL someone could grab themselves some eggs etc from there. Location pretty close too. :thumbsup2

We did the club lounge most mornings, but also did a couple of character breakfasts. Breakfast with Pooh is a tradition for us, so we couldn't break that one, club level or not. :)

Hey, can you share what the % off was with the AP? I'm considering getting an AP, but it would only be worth it if it's a better % off than the general public rate. I think the current GP rate is 20%. Thanks!

We got 25% at the Poly with the AP rate the GP rate was 20% for our dates. I've seen AP rates up to 35-37% this year. You never know. It's all about how crowded they anticipate the place to be at any given time.

Mousesavers.com has a nice breakdown of the historic released discounts.

That's what we had for our 2 trips at the Poly, too. IMO it did get boring after a few days... ;) For a party of 10, I could see booking one or two breakfasts if you are worried people won't be happy with the same spread day after day... or just go to Captain Cook's to add a bit of something.

As other posters mentioned, there are continental breakfast offerings, plus oatmeal with toppings. There is fresh fruit, pineapple, strawberries, cantelope--always delicious. We like hot breakfasts as well. On mornings we did not go to a buffet or Kona, we would go to Captain Cook's and buy side of scrambled eggs to go. We put the eggs on the bagels or toast in the lounge. Captain Cook's and Hawaii building are fairly close so it is very convenient. You can get waffles, eggs, sausage, breakfast pototatos as a side or entree at the counter service and bring back to lounge and eat with the fruit, muffins, beverages in lounge. They will put plastic lids on your food and it is easy to transport and not very expensive. HTH!:goodvibes

Could someone please provide information about the torch lighting ceremony at Poly - time, days & where? thanks!

I have never stayed Poly CL BUT just wanted to point out a great deal at Captain Cooks (and most Disney resort quick service locations). There is a kids breakfast for about $5 that comes with eggs, bacon, grapes and a kid's drink (milk/juice/bottled water/etc). It's a great way to add some protein and hot food to your breakfast if you are supplementing a continental breakfast. And that can be a continental breakfast from the lounge or for other non-CL folks, food that you might still have in your room (like a pastry from France that you got the night before :lovestruc)!

:wave2: I posted a mini-review of my stay from 3/2-3/8 if anyone cares to read it :)

The torch lighting ceremony starts in the Great Ceremonial House at 6:00 pm on the nights that Spirit of Aloha is performed. Not 100% sure, but usually Tuesday-Saturday.
